Unable to forward a message with image by Gmail

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and hopefully get your help.
Our graphich department uses Mac OS X 10.4.11. Our problem is that when they try to forward a message which is image included at Gmail, the recipient can not the view the image at all. It comes blank but text is shown
Before we had the same problem and I updated the Mac OS software and it dissappeared. now again same problem occurs but this time we do not know what to do.
I hope you can help us solving the problem
thanx,
deniz

OK, I tried just what you said: In my ISP I had a message with four .gif pictures in 'view' on the e-mail... sent this to Gmail acct, still in 'view'... sent to another acct, e-mail came up but pictures are at the very bottom unopened, I can click on them to open them.
Are the Pic's "In View" when you open the e-mail at Gmail? Or are they "Attached"? And are they in a different state when the forwarded e-mail is received by the other?
I have tried doing this with OSX 'Mail', and it works with the picture in 'view'. However, when I duplicate the process using MS 'Entourage' to Gmail and forward again, the picure's are as described above (at the bottom, named but unopened, able to be clicked to be seen).
So it would seem, it may be dependent upon which Mail program is used to send it to Gmail, more so then what Gmail does in the forwarding. It seems Entourage does something to them before Gmail gets them and Gmail only processes the encoding that exists.
You can put picture's in the e-mail (Gmail), as I described above, and they are in view when received, even on my brothers MS PC.
Where does that e-mail you are talking about come from? OSX? MS Entourage? Another program?

  • When I forward a message with pictures/formatting, it all turns to text. Where do I set an option to HTML instead of text?

I can forward the message with the formatting when I use "the other browser" by choosing OPTIONS, then HTML. I don't see how to do this in Firefox and it all turns to plain text.

I believe that if you turn off "Send As SMS: off in the settings, it should only attempt to send as an iMessage and should fail if iMessage is unavailable. It tries to send an iMessage a few times and then if unable, it will send as an SMS if you have that turned on.

  • Trouble Forwarding HTML Messages with Entourage

I use Entourage for email at home. Occasionally, I would like to be able to forward an email message to someone and keep the original HTML format intact. I have my preferences set to reply to messages in whatever format they were sent. For some reason, when I try to forward a message with lots of pictures in it, the forward messages just turns into text. Any suggestions?

Oh wow! I thought it was me. Same issue here; Exchange 2007, and all I get is Plain Text. Yet I can go to another account, and write HTML mail, no problems...

  • Display problems in Mail messages with image attachment

Issue: Seeing intermittent display problems in Mail messages with image attachments
Annoyance level: minor, but Apple techs need to pass it along
Details: Regardless of mail client sending to iPhone (Outlook, OWA, Yahoo, Gmail) there are intermittent and what appear to be random occurrances of the pic being half rendered and/or the pic never loading (followed by message saying it can't be retrieved from server). In some instances the picture then appears fully rendered without a problem. Note: Image sizes varied from 14KB to 450KB

    Hi,
I'm not familiar with C#, but if possible try the following:
    1. Removing all thead and tbody tags from the body of the message.
    2. Changing all inline CSS to embedded CSS.
I've seen a user said the message stopped showing up after making the changes.
If the issue persists, please note, since Outlook 2007, Outlook opens the HTML Email and converts it to Microsoft Word format before displaying it to the user. What happens during this process is that many CSS attributes and HTML support is completely removed.
Some of the most notable absences are background-image, and padding and margin support. Hardly can we do much about this, so the message "If there are problems with how this email is displayed, click here to view it in a web browser" is actually
a good workaround when we face this problem.

  • Opening message with image causes Mail to quit

In the last few days Mail has started to quit when I open certain messages with images attached. I can't think of anything I have done differently in the last few days to cause this. Any ideas?

When an application crashes (i.e. quits unexpectedly), the system writes information about the state of the application at the moment of the crash to a log file. That information is called a crash report and it makes troubleshooting much easier. In order to find and paste the relevant part of the crash report here, proceed as follows:
    1. Open ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Mail.crash.log. The whole Mail crash log appears in a Console window (you can also open that file with any text editor). It may contain many crash reports. We only want the latest, which is located at the bottom of the file.
    2. Look for a line that begins with "Date/Time:" as close to the bottom as possible, and another that says "Thread N Crashed:", where N is a number. Select everything from the "Date/Time:" line to the lines immediately following "Thread N Crashed:". Copy that text and paste it here. Do not post the whole crash log, and do not include anything beyond the lines immediately following "Thread N Crashed:" either, just the relevant part.
Take a look at the following thread for examples of what a crash report looks like:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=466701
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

  • E90 unable to forward text messages after software...

    Hi,
I recently updated my e90 to 300.34.84 software and now I am unable to forward text messages. You can only forward by manually typing in the numbers. If you choose via the "add recipient" option, it brings you to your contacts  list and you can mark "x" on the box beside the name however there is no "ok" option, just a "back" option which if chosen, brings you back to the text message you want to forward without any name on the top. Any help on how to solve this is much appreciated

  • When I reply or forward a message with an attachment the attachment does not forward with the email

Someone sent a message with an attachment. I replied but the attachment doesn't show in my reply. I want to be sure the attachment goes with the reply.

Unfortunately Micrisift have difficulty with understanding standards so they make mail programs that do not correctly encode attachments. Thunderbird can display them, but not forward defective mime encoding. This is a conscious decision of the developers, they are not spreading what they see as defective mail.
Forward such mail as an attachment. It is on the message menu (Alt + M) on on the drop down beside the forward button.

This problem appeared suddenly with any outgoing message.

Mail 7.0 must have detected a problem with the config of the outgoing server of my current account.

  • Forwarded mail has no images

I have a new .mac account, so I am forwarding my old address email to my .mac email using rules in the OSX mail program. I have it set up to forward the mail to my new address and then delete it from the old address. This works great except my forwarded mail has no images (just text and space for images)(just blank spaces, no symbols). Also, most of the links do not work. Anyone have any solutions?
    Thanks

    Jason,
Forwarding should normally include attachments, images and links. However, forwarding of messages with RTF or HTML will often trigger a spam filter somewhere in the path which could then alter the message. You need to be sure that is not happening. To check this send, or have someone send, a simple Plain Text message with attached JPEG to your old account, and see if this forwards correctly.
What SMTP is being used by the old account, and who provides it?
Keep in mind that if you receive messages in your old account, then you can Move them to the .Mac account Inbox with a simple Move To command in the Rule rather than a Forward, and then they would be in the .Mac Inbox with the original headers instead of those headers that result from a Forward.
    More info, please.

  • Trouble Printing PDF's scanned with Image Capture

OK this is a strange problem.  I have Macbook Pro and a Lexmark E230 laser printer which prints everything out just fine in safari, word, pages, numbers - anything except PDF's that are specifially scanned with the Image Capture application.
I printed four PDF's that were made from different sources, some just assembled JPEGs, one that was text printed from Pages, and another instruction manual randomly downloaded from the internet.  All printed fine.
My wife and I scan a lot for our home business and any PDF that we have scanned using Image Capture prints only the first page, then hangs, and then the rest of the document does not print.  If I try to print the second or other pages manually, I get an error printed on the page saying :
    ERROR: limitcheck
    OFFENDING COMMAND: image
    STACK:
    And the image partially prints.
I am aware of all driver issues, have tried using old drivers, completely reset the print system using the OPTION and ( - ) key in the printer system prefs.  I have also used the most up to date drivers, nothing seems to change this.  I am also aware of a printers limitations as far as using images or PDFs with a lot of memory.
The thing that makes me confused is that this all seemed to work perfectly before (in Lion) and even during the inital stages of Mountain Lion.  At some point (this is on my wife's computer), I'm not sure when the issues started exactly, I was unable to print PDFs scanned with Image Capture properly.
This used to work, now it doesn't.  Printer hasn't changed, types of documents haven't changed.  Any ideas?
    Thanks so much,
    Jim

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, bubblebanium!
I have experienced your problem on several occasions and found the culprit to be a corrupt font. Try selecting everything in the document and changing it to a font that you are certain prints. If the problem persists, try copying everything and paste it into a new document. If your document is several pages, try printing one page to hone in on the problem.
If the problem still persists, does your document have bullet items? If yes, and the bulleted items were created with the automatic bullet feature, then the problem may be the default font used for that feature (most likely the Symbol font).
To change to a different font, go to the Format menu, select Bullets and Numbering. Click on the style of bullets your document uses and then click the Customize button. In the next window, click on the shape of bullet your document uses and then click the Font button below. A Font window appears in which you can then select a different font. Afterwards, if the document prints, then the default font is probably corrupt and you may want to replace it with a good copy.
    Hope this helps.
