Unable to get audio on some websites have HP Pavilion dv7 laptop

I cannot get sound when streaming videos on a few websites but other websites is fine. I ran window update driver option in device manager for my video card and it said it was up to date. But I have not went to manufacturers site for video card update. IT is not the website because on my tablet and desktop I can get the sound fine when streaming on this same website

Is your Adobe Flash Player software up to date? Have you tried using a different browser to view these sites? Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv7-6166nr Entertainment Notebook and issues with the sound issues. Here is a fix that has helped.
1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
2. Click Playback Devices.
3. Click Speakers.
4. Enable it
5. Apply the properties.
8. Click OK to close the properties window.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.
Have you tried a different browser? Does a CD play ok?

Don't copy the application, you're likely to miss a number of essential files. If you purchased it from the Mac App Store, launch the Mac App Store on the laptop & click "purchases" to install it. If you purchased retail disk or license, you need to use the original installer & have a family pack license.

Presario v3702TU trying to setup it up with winxp 64 bit, but unable to get audio to work

I just installed a old laptop of mine with win xp 64 bit + sp2.
I am able to get most of the drivers for xp 64 bit, but audio is troubling me.
I am unable to get exact driver for the below Device ID
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C30CD&REV_1000
which should be connexant smart audio 221.
I ahve installed the UAA driver, but not able to get exact dirver for xp 64 bit. All the drivers availble on net seem to be off vista/xp -32 bit.
Please help

Picture files on some websites have been loading as grey squares saying "468 X 60". Why is this happening and how do I stop it?

Pictures on different websites have not been loading, and instead are being replaced by grey banners, most commonly saying "468 X 60", but sometimes other dimensions. This is definitely not making the internet much fun. Please help me get rid of these and bring back the pictures.

Do you see those missing images in Tools > Page Info > Media ?
Do you have security software (firewall, anti-virus) that may be blocking images that have some block listed dimensions?
If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

Can you explain more on the "clicking" noise you are hearing? If you mute the computer do you still hear it? It is from the speakers or from the inside of the laptop?

Unable to get audio on plug-in's video

In February 2014 I downloaded the app to Mozilla Firefox called "DownThemAll"; I read all of the information available on the web but when I attempted to view the videos on the page titled "Welcome to DownThemAll!" there was no audio. The audio button in the lower right hand corner is dimmed and has a circle with a diagonal line going through it. Clicking the icon does not highlight the icon nor does it remove the circle with the diagonal line through it. I am unable to figure out how to turn the audio on and there is no instruction manual to your product so I assume that all of the answers to my questions are in the videos which I don't have access to.
I have sent multiple e-mails to the people who developed "DownThemAll" and have never received a response(I even made a donation and they still did not answer). I have also sent multiple e-mails to Mozilla Firefox and have received no response on this issue. I had also forgotten my username last night so I sent multiple e-mails to the log-in support page with no response.

Some websites have very small test and others too large.

When I'm browsing at different websites. Some have the text really small and others have it too big. How can I make every website use the same (my choice) font and size. I've changed the font and size of the fonts in "Preferences-Appearance" and they only change a couple sites. All the others are too big or too small.

Setting how pages are displayed explains what you can and cannot do regarding the display of text in web pages...You can specify how pages appear when they open in Safari, including which fonts are used, whether or not to display images, and whether to use your own Cascading Style Sheet (CSS).
Many webpages specify their own fonts. Your font settings affect only pages that do not specify fonts. Webpages may specify style sheets that override your style sheet...;~)

iDVD does some strange things with aspect ratios. It basically stems from the way it deals with the aspect ratio flag that your DVD player uses to set the screen resolution. iDVD internally sets the aspect ratio of the project to 16:9 auto pan & scan and letterbox. In essence this means that the output is contolled almost totally by the settings on you DVD player and TV.
In an ideal world iDVD would give you the option to set the aspect ratio to 16:9 letterbox therefore forcing the picture to letterbox on a 4:3 TV. This would give more consistent results across varying equipment.
Added to this, some TV's and DVD players will by design cut off some of the edges of the available picture. This is normal and should be allowed for when creating your DVD. You can use the Show TV Safe option (apple T) to show the safest area to place titles and menus in.
The way DVD's work and the method by which aspect ratios are handled is a complicated subject for which there's not enough space here but if you're really interested in having a little more control over the way your DVD works then I can highly recommend myDVDedit:

It's free and a great tool. It even has a guide to fix exactly your problem. Downside is you need a little bit of a learning curve to fully understand the way a DVD works.
Basically you could create a disk image on you hard disk and edit the results to set the aspect ratio to force a 16:9 letterbox therefore ensuring more reliability.
Alternatively you could create your DVD's as normal (ensuring that you set the project correctly to 16:9 to match your footsge) and adjust the settings on your DVD player to 16:9 letterboxed. That might work but you'd have to ensure that this is set correctly on all of the DVD players you use your disks on.
I hope I haven't confused the living daylights out of you.

I have an iphone 3GS and had a lot of music in my itunes account. My computer died and will not even turn on. I finally got a new computer and a new iphone 4S however quite a bit of my music is not in my itunes when i put it on my new computer. is there any way to get that music off my iphone 3GS to my new computer? I do not have the cds anymore. Thanks.

I have just upgrade to Safari 6.0.2 (Lion) and I now find some site show "blocked plug-in". How do I unblock these?

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.<br />
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.<br />
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.
