Unable to get PDF to show up in Outlook

I have just reinstalled Windows 8 for the ?????? time, installed Microsoft Office and Adobe subscription. I am unable to get the PDF to become active in the Add-In's on Outlook. I have checked it on many times and it is just not there. These are the only two major program groups which I have reinstalled at this time. PDF was working before the last operating system crash. Has anyone seen this problem and if so, what did you do to correct it. I have a feeling that this is a bug assiciated with Windows 8. I have never lost operting systems as often as I have with Windows 8,

Make sure you've updated to Acrobat 11.0.1 because this was the first version to support the Office 2013 PDFMaker add-ons.

    Do you see a message like this when you open one of your PDF documents?
    Your PDF document is a special type of form called a "dynamic XFA form".  The message is displayed when a dynamic content is not supported by a PDF viewer.
    As far as I know, no PDF viewers for iOS and Android mobile devices support dynamic XFA forms.  Here are the examples of the iOS apps that do not support dynamic XFA forms.
    Adobe Reader for iOS
    Mail
    Safari
    iBooks
    The PDF preview feature in Dropbox and other apps
    The message is trying to tell you to use the latest desktop version of Adobe Reader, not the mobile version of Adobe Reader.  I agree that the sentence, "You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader...", is somewhat misleading.  The message is baked into the dynamic XFA form that was authored by Adobe LiveCycle (desktop app) without regard for non-desktop apps (i.e. mobile apps).  Upgrading to the latest version of Adobe Reader for iOS would not help in this case.
    Currently, the only option to view and fill out dynamic XFA forms is to use the desktop version of Adobe Reader.

    I'm brand new to Crystal....I have 80 reports done in Reporting Services but need to send a few directly to the printer so I'm rewriting them in Crystal.  Trying to set up VS 2005 to get the PrintToPrinter routine to work.  It does not show up in intellisense and if I type it out it tells me it is not a function of......   Am I missing some reference or import???

  • My iphone contacts wont sync to outlook. i used the cloud once, now i cant get them to show up on outlook.

    i used to have all contacts on my iphone and outlook. one time i backed up to cloud as another form of saving data just in case my desktop crapped out. now i go turn off back up to cloud and my iphone has all the contacts but outlook has 0. i have it syncing to outlook from itunes, but nada.

  • How can I get my iphone to synch with Outlook?  I do not want to use Icloud.

    I am a realtor and have used Outlook for years, but am unable to get my iphone to synch with Outlook.  Does anyone have a solution?  I have been to the Apple store and have had more than one person working on it, to no avail.

    Not sure what you've already tried, but sometimes you have to uninstall iTunes and all it's components as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925, then reinstall iTunes.  (This would be necessary if the Outlook plugin is missing or corrupt.)  You won't loose your iTunes library or media by doing this.

    How about if you right click on the PDF and select Save Link As..., and then open it locally from within Reader? Does it work ok then?  That might be a workaround until the issue within the browser is resolved.

  • I am unable to print PDF's using either Adobe Reader or Safari. In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my Cannon printer that says, "/usr.libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed". In Safari, I can only print the first page of a PDF.

    To try to resolve this problem, I have done the following actions.
    1 - I have run Disk Warrior.
    2 - I have repaired permissions.
    3 - I have deleted all plist that are either Cannon or Adobe.
    4 - I have downloaded and installed the lastest versions of Adobe Reader and the Cannon printer drivers.
    I am still unable to print PDF's.
    In Safari, I can print only the first page. In a multipage PDF, Safari only seems to recognize the first page.
    In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my printer: "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed".
    Any help would be greatly appreicated!

    Quit Safari.
    Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
    ☞ If running OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.
    ☞ If running an older version of OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and copy the line below into the text box that opens:
    ~/Library
    Delete the following items from the Library folder:
    Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
    Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
    Relaunch Safari and test.
    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ If you’re running OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
    Select "/var/log/cups/error_log" from the file list. Post the messages from the time of the last printing attempt.
    Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

    Using your example and not modifying it, I get the e-mail form filled out correctly and the pdf attached, however, I'm not prompted to sign it.
    Any more clues?

    In iOS 6, my Recent PDFs would show up by default whenever I opened Adobe. That is not the case with iOS 7. Is there a way to get your Recent PDFs to show up by default in iOS 7?

    Not possible with the actual version of Adobe Reader.

    You don't say which operating system you are using so I'll assume Windows 7 for now - try this.
    1) select the file that you want to open
    2) right click on it and go to the Open With option but select Choose default program at the bottom of the list - the following should open
    3) At the bottom of the list, there is Other Programs, you may need to scroll down. If PSE not in the list, continue with the following.
    4) Use the Browse button to browse to the following (omit x86 if on 32bit system)
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
    I'm assuming that you want to open the image in the editor.
    5) Uncheck the Always use... option, otherwise double clicking on the file would cause the editor to open by default.
    6) Click on OK
    PSE should now appear on your open with list.

    I think you may be confusing bookmarks with thumbnails. If you click the Page Thumbnails icon (the one above the Bookmarks icon), then you can delete a page by clicking its thumbnail, and clicking the Delete Pages icon (the trashcan icon). Just make sure that you're viewing the PDF file in Acrobat (rather than Acrobat Reader), as you can't delete pages from Reader.

    I went to the site and did exactly as the 'support' said. I tried three PDF documents for conversion to Word. On clicking 'convert', the last window gives the file with .doc suffix. After I save and open it the window says, "The XML file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents." Under "Details", it says, "Incorrect document syntax".
    Please guide me further.
