Unable to get updates. Error code 80070246. Attempted to download "fix".

Cannot get updates. Attempting to get them shows error code 80070246. While attempting to solve problem, I downloaded the KB (something) fix on the help site, which resulted in (no kidding) 21 HOURS of downlaoding, 40 minutes of installing and a reattempt at getting update.
SAME ERROR CODE
I purchased the computer with operating system loaded, and my previous data installed at the point of purchase. If I ever had the "installation disc" I can't find it. (I don't think I ever had one.)
My computer thinks it's never had an update.
I can't even download the newer versions of IE, because the download site says I need "required updates".
Any ideas?

Have you tried running the SFC command to see if Windows can find any registry Violations within your instalation ??
To achieve this click Start -- in the search bar type CMD -- above you will see CMD Right click CMD and run as Administartor . When CMD opens type the following command sfc /scannow ( hit Enter )
NB: there is a space between c and /
Once the scan has finished IF windows found Violations and managed to repair them then try and run the Windows Update again and see if the problem has been repaired .

And, where is the music coming from, iTunes? If so, that is a known problem with Premiere Elements (just about any version).
The answer has been to convert the iTunes music to the wav version in iTunes.

I can see my purchases (movies specifically) in the ITunes Store when I filter to purchased but when I try to down load the movie it starts to down load and then says Unable to Download Error Code 5105. Can anyone help?

Hi, I had this problem when I first went to use iTunes with iCloud. using Windows 8 OS. Everytime I tried to download from iCloud error 5105 came up... not sure this will work for everyone, but pretty simple, I closed iTunes and restarted it and everything worked fine

IPad cannot be restored unknown error 1; I tried to update my iPad 1 to new os5 by syncing to new version of iTunes and found a message that my iPad needs to be restored. I tried several times and continue to get same error code unknown 1; how to fix?

When trying to sync my ipad to latest version of itunes, it appears the ipad identity was lost and a message in itunes says to restore the ipad. However, multiple attempts to do this continue to provide the "This ipad cannot be restored. Unknown error 1" I have tried resetting my ipad which just brings back the screen to connect it to itunes. I installed iOS5 last night and was having the same problems described above with my iPad 1 32 GB + 3G. Unknown Error (1) and was unable to restore.
I took my ipad to the local Apple Store today and was told by the genius that it was a hardware issue, and because the warranty had expired, there was nothing the Store could do. He suggested that I try calling AppleCare. Then I asked to speak with a manager. He apologized again and said there was just nothing the Store could do. I was close to leaving, when I asked a second time if it would be possible to see a Manager.
After asking a second time, he called a manager. After explaining my issue to her, she immediately authorized him to give me a new iPad ! Anyone with this problem should definitely go to the store and be polite but adamant. You should get a new iPad.

Getting an error msg when attempting to download: C:

When I double click on an attached file, a dialog box pops up with the following error:
C:\Documents and Settings\Customer\Local Settings\Temp;C:Temp could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred.

It tries to save under the C:\Documents and Settings which is a system folder which users are not allowed to write files (just links to other folders).
How about changing the Download folder to C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Downloads

Unable to install windows 7 home premium updates error code 643 (KB 954430, KB973688 & KB2538243) - Please help me!!
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Lenovo ThinkPad E530. This laptop is only brands new.
KB954430, KB973688 & KB2538243 - These three updates keep giving me problems. In Windows Update, under "view update history" these keep showing up as failed. I also get the error, "Code 643".
At the end of the installation it tells me three updates are failed to be installed and when I shut down to try to update, Windows always configures up to ~15%, then fails, and reverts changes, then prompts me to install updates the next time I turn my computer on. Each time, I have to re-install every update that I had installed prior to shutting down.
I went through Trouble shooter - "Fix it" numerous times, Repaired Net framework profile and also followed few instructions I found from the net such as running "Reset Register Windows update Components" but nothing works so far.
I even tried manually installing KB954430 but it told me "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. 7B30B69B-OE6C-B7EO-A06B-D6B9ABF34537 HR RESULT: 0 x 80070BC9" and the installation bar seems to stop at "Publishing Product information", then rolls back the installation.

I have tried though syncing to my Mac and by itself

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.
Then try to update at Settings > General > Software Update
The update servers have been extremely busy this week so keep trying. It took me several attempts before my iPad began the update process.
