I just re-installed Acrobat 9.0. Unable to get updates. Current version still shows as 9.0.0

Cannot get updates. Attempting to get them shows error code 80070246. While attempting to solve problem, I downloaded the KB (something) fix on the help site, which resulted in (no kidding) 21 HOURS of downlaoding, 40 minutes of installing and a reattempt at getting update.
SAME ERROR CODE
I purchased the computer with operating system loaded, and my previous data installed at the point of purchase. If I ever had the "installation disc" I can't find it. (I don't think I ever had one.)
My computer thinks it's never had an update.
I can't even download the newer versions of IE, because the download site says I need "required updates".
Any ideas?

Have you tried running the SFC command to see if Windows can find any registry Violations within your instalation ??
To achieve this click Start -- in the search bar type CMD -- above you will see CMD Right click CMD and run as Administartor . When CMD opens type the following command sfc /scannow ( hit Enter )
NB: there is a space between c and /
Once the scan has finished IF windows found Violations and managed to repair them then try and run the Windows Update again and see if the problem has been repaired .

"could not" means nothing; what happens when you try? What "window" do you click?

Unable to get updated lovs

Hello,
I am not able to get updated lovs in the crystal reports which i migrated from R2 to 3.1 system.for example each month we automatically gets the snapshot data say..1st May,1st June,1st July but once we have migrated to our BOE 3.1, i am getting only till
1st July the latest instead of the 1st Aug.
Any clue?
Help will be really appriciate.

You mentioned you got old kernel from here, right? 2.6.34.3-1 is the current one, and it's on that server. Are you by any chance using [testing]?

Recently upgraded to Maverick from SnowLeopard. Unable to get updates from App store.

iMac seriously screwing up. HD corrupted. Erased. Installed Maverick (had SnowL before). iPhoto 11 and iMovie 9.0.4both missing after installing Maverick. Downloaded updates from Apple.com and was able to get pictures and movies back and updated to 9.4 for iPhoto and 9.0.4 for iMovie. Got message that both can be updated more. However when I tried, the App store sent message that with my new Apple ID it was bought by different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. True I had changed my password recently, but App store is not getting it.

I too was being denied updates to iPhoto and was intending to simply delete the apps as I mainly use Photoshop.

I went into my account hit reset and then went to install and it worked, I now have iPhoto 9.5.1!
I probably still won't use it very much but it was maddening being denied the update.

Unable to connect to store to get updates

I'm unable to get updates and apps on my iPhone 'cause I can no longer connect to the store. I had an AOL password and even though I've changed it in iTunes - I log in on my phone it wants to default back to my AOL screenname and will not allow me to connect. I've restored my phone hoping that this would correct the problem, but no luck.
Any help?

I can connect to the store via iTunes on my G5 but I cannot connect to the store via my iPhone. When I go to log in (on my iPhone) it defaults back to my old AOL screenname - even when I have gone into settings and changed the login to the new one... it will not accept the password - new, old, or otherwise.

Unable to get Developer updates

I am unable to get updates from Developer. I have an OTN account and the panel prompts for the account and password. The panel then sits on waiting to connect. There is no error or message. Is anyone else having this problem?

If you need to use a proxy to connect to the outside world, check that the settings are correct on the Web Browser / Proxy page in preferences.

C3 unable to get my chat setup...

I bought a nokia c3 a week ago, I can't activate my chat though... The main thing about the C3 is the Social features, and here I am unable to use my chat. I went to messaging, chat, then it says to activate your chat, you need the newest chat updates, so, I click yes, it starts checking and then it gives an error, Unable to get updates, check phone connectivity settings. My pacet data is on "always on", I've tried via WIFI, but nothing. SO SO SO dissapointed!!! Great fan of nokia, now it seems like nokia wants to tell me to buy a BLACKBERRY??? PLEASE HELP!

Several applications including Settings open and close immediately, unable to get iTunes to install an update

While traveling in China, I was unable to get latest iTunes download an update to 4.3.2 (after download is compoleted, is starts processing and says network timed out, without any clear reason) I can download the file separately for an older version without using iTunes fine.
I have a hunch that the multitude of emails flying in my account is causing trouble, since Mail is one of the apps closing immediately. But I cannot use settings to combat Mail problems.... Anyone any idea???

The "Network timed out " may be a firewall or antivirus on the computer.
For the apps closing, try the following:
stop all running apps:
Double-click the Home button. Hold an icon in the bottom row until the minus sign shows, then touch all minus signs to close all apps.
Then Press and Hold the Home and Power buttons until the Apple Logo appears, about 10 seconds.

HT4623 During my update to the new operating system I am unable to get past Rescue EMail. I tried not putting in another e-mail as it says it is optional - that did nto work. I entered a Rescue E-Mail and it will not allow me to go to the next step. Help

Try this - Disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update.
After you install iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed when connecred via wireless.

Which way are you trying to update? WiFi or iTunes? In either case, I would try restarting/rebooting all devices and then try again.
IF you are using iTunes, eject your iPad, quit iTunes, reboot your computer and reset your iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. After the iPad starts up, connect to iTunes and try again. You may also want to disable your firewall and antivirus software when you try to update using iTunes. Sometimes those will interfere with the download.
If you are using WiFi, reset the iPad as described above and try again.
If WiFi updating will not work, try using iTunes, if iTunes will not work, try using WiFi.

Even I got same mesage but after restoring the phone using itunes, it worked for me. First restore and update your phone again using itunes.
