Unable to import exported mbox mail files

I have had nothing but problems since I installed Lion.
So, I finally had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Lion.
Great, Lion works, but I cannot import my mail. I exported all of my emails using the menu option in Mac mail.
When I try to import it, it doesn't recognize the mbox files so I have to import Apple mail files.
Then, when I do the import, I get a message saying that only some of my mail could be imported and that it is in a mailbox called Import.
However, this mailbox isn't created and none of my mail gets imported.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Unfotunately, the problem seems to have been a system configuration problem.
When I reinstalled Lion, I  imported a Time Machine backup.
Since then, I've done another reinstall and have just set everything up from scratch. Now I have no problems importing the mbox files.

  • Unable to import package. This file is not a Business Components XML file

    Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 9.0.3(Build 1325) and trying to extend a VO. Project > Import Business Components and select the VO, AM or EO xml because Sourcing Negotiation creation does not have a server.xml and I am getting the following message "Unable to import package. This file is not a Business Components XML file.". Should I make something else to enable extension?? Does a patch required to make extensions. Any help would be appreciated.

What I know is that server.xml is not a must. This is the easiest way to import appropriate xml files. My question is, when I am trying to Project>Import Business Components > xxxVO.xml I am getting the above error although the xxxVO.xml is a Business Component. I wanna know that should some patch be applied to Jdeveloper (Build 1325)?? (by the way at first I tried with Build 1312 and the same error raised)

  • Import/export - Windows Mail to Mac Mail

Does anyone know a way to import Windows Mail mailboxes in Mac Mail.
I managed to import Windows Mail in Thunderbird, but when I export them to mbox it seems like Thunderbirds is only exporting one mail from each mailbox.
Is this the only way to Export/Import from Windows to Mac Mail, and what am I doing wrong?
It's important to say that Windows Mail and Windows Outlook/Outlook Express is not the same thing. I'm using Windows Mail.

  • Mail unable to import and upgrade mail and will not open.

I have had a not so smooth uprade to Mountain Lion. I did a clean install because the first time indicated I had a hard drive issue. I used time machine to restore documents etc. This worked fairly well  However  my wife's account has problems with Mail. When I launch mail it tries to import/upgrade the mail from the previous system My wife uses gmail. However after going through the process of importing the mail I get an error message that the Upgrade failed because of a corrupt index, and to restart mail and it will fix the file. Unfortunately this pattern just repeats and I am unable to actually get mail to open. Is there a way to bypass this process?

I solved my problem, well enough for me. I opened the hidden user library folder using the method of clicking on the finder and typing command-shift G then typing ~/Library  which opens the user library.aI then trashed Mail from the library. When I restarted Mail it guided me through the steps of setting up the account. Yeah!

  • Another question about import/export to excel file?

Hi, I need to know urgently if it's possible to import/export excel files from/to JSP with unpredicted number of fields each row. For example, row 1 in the excel file can have 5 columns of data, row 2 has 3 columns of data, etc...
Does reading from excel file in JSP require that we know beforehand how many columns there are and what each column represent?

    go read http://jakarta.apache.org/poi !!!!!!
No it doesnt. the POI api provide method to determine the number of cells in a row.

  • Is there a way to import/export tab delimited files to a table in Pages 2?

It seems like Pages is starting to get funtionality that might help wean me off of Excel. In this vein, is it possible to import or export tab delimited files to a table in Pages 2?

I had some success in Pages 1, but I've only tried a couple of times so far in Pages 2 without success. The trick was to make sure the table is the exact number of columns wide. It's very "klunky" but I've ended up converting the tab-delimited text to a table in AppleWorks, saving the AppleWorks file with the table as a "floating" object (fixed objects don't translate) & opening the file in Pages. It's quicker & easier for most of what I do to just drag & drop in Pages.

  • Unable to import mp3 and m4a files

I have mp3 and m4a files that I'm trying to import into iTunes (and then add to my iPad). When I try to add them, I see a very quick "Processing Album Artwork" and then nothing happens.
The files work on the PSP I'm getting them from, on VLC on the Mac, and on Google Music Beta. (In fact, Google Music automatically uploaded them from the iTunes library.)
Searching for advice found years-old threads on various Mac support sites suggesting that I repair the files using "MP3 Scan+Repair," but that utility didn't find anything wrong with the files. I tried rebuilding a few of the files anyway, but to no avail.
The files are not DRMed; they were originally ripped from CDs I own, mostly using iTunes. (This was done at least 2-3 years ago.)

My problem seems to have randomly resolved itself. I went and imported a couple of files on a new playlist, and they appeared with tags and everything. Then I tried importing the rest just by dragging the folder into "Music," and it appeared perfectly fine.
So, I don't think this was the issue since the tags worked fine today, but I'm good now!

  • Premiere - Import/Export/Edit MOD Files

Any word on when or if MOD file import and/or export support will be added to Premiere?
What is the best way to work with MOD files when using Premiere?
What are the pros and cons of using Adobe elements with MOD files?
Tools, tips and techniques are greatly appreciated!!! :)
    Best regards,
    Rick

Based on reading a LOT of problem reports, importing files from a DVD camcorder or other MPEG device, or Ripping DVD files rarely results in success in Premiere... do not be fooled by movie industry advertising into thinking that "DVD Quality Video" is suitable for EDITING... it is not... a DVD is designed to be for PLAYBACK only... and that includes trying to edit a Standard Def MPEG or VOB file!
You should also use WAV sound files, not the compressed MP3 format, To work with AC3 files in Premiere, it MAY work to copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from the Encore DVD directory into the Premiere directory
Go to my notes page http://www.pacifier.com/~jtsmith/ADOBE.HTM
Click the internal link for editing compressed files... read
There are other products better suited to your task... but if you only have DVD type files, you should convert to DV AVI... go to the VideoHelp link in my notes and look for a program to convert
The only SD (Standard Def) files that Premiere really likes are DV AVI type 2

  • Unable to import/preview any video file using Lightroom 5/5.2

    Hi,
I am a fairly new user to Lightroom (around 4 months), and have been fascinated by the capabilities of this software when it comes to photos. From the start, I used to notice (but chose to ignore) that lightroom would not be able to import any of my video files successfully (all in supported formats such as avi, mov, mp4, usually mov from my Nikon DSLR). Recently, I have started digging around to find a solution for this and fix this issue of not being able to preview or import any video file. I have gone through most of the related posts around the interwebs about this (including installing QuickTime, checking my AntiVirus, checking specific processes whether they are running or not). As a last attempt to resolve this, I am hoping to get some expert help on this form. As a sample of the error message which I get to see everytime is attached below. Also given below is my system info. I can provide further debugging information if required, but I really, desperately want this to work and be able to import videos. Thanks a bunch!

    Hello,
If this is one of exercise then just open the Enterprise Resource pool in Project Pro, make sure the data matches in the columns in the Enterprise Resource Pool and the Excel file then copy and past in the resources from Excel to Project.

  • Unable to import or view MXF files

I have downloaded and installed Calibrated{Q} MXF, which is supposed to enable me to import and edit with MXF files, but all I get is the first 30 seconds. Is this proprietary software, and if so, where can I get a codec to work with these files which a client has supplied me? (I don't think I should fork out hundreds of dollars for the "privilege" of working with a closed format. I would rather give the job back to the client.)
MXF Quickstat tells me the codec is IMX30 PAL, with Audio codec AES3. At the top it has: "MXF Type: OP1a SingleItem SinglePa... // Video Type: SMPTE D-10 Mappings.
Compressor also cannot get more than 30 secs, and XDCam Transfer doesn't recognise the files. I think the client may have compiled these on an Avid, but my understanding is that MXF is a wrapper that should work across platforms, and IMX should work with an XDCam-compatible system. I have worked with EX and SX before without a problem.
    Many thanks for any assistance.
    j0n

Sound like you have the DEMO version of Calibrated. it only does the first few seconds so that you can see that it does, in fact, work. If you want to see the ENTIRE clips, you need to buy it.
    Is this proprietary software
This is third party software, yes. Apple doesn't make it. If you want it to work fully, you need to buy it.
MXF Quickstat tells me the codec is IMX30 PAL, with Audio codec AES3. At the top it has: "MXF Type: OP1a SingleItem SinglePa... // Video Type: SMPTE D-10 Mappings.
What is that? Avid? Doesn't seem like Avid. How are the files named? REALLY long names? Separate audio and video? Are they in a folder called MXF, then another one called 1? I think you need to ask the client where these came from. Only they can really answer that question.
but my understanding is that MXF is a wrapper that should work across platforms
It will, but not every application can read MXF natively. Avid is PC and Mac...and can read MXF files. That's cross platform. If you mean cross platform in terms of software editing applications, you are mistaken. FCP doesn't work with MXF natively, it needs third party software.
but my understanding is that MXF is a wrapper that should work across platforms, and IMX should work with an XDCam-compatible system. I have worked with EX and SX before without a problem.
Correct...you convert the XDCAM footage to QT to allow FCP to see it. Either with the SOny software or the FCP L&T interface. It doesn't work with it natively.

  • Import/export of PDF files via iPad USB port - Apple please!

I am writing here in the hope that some Apple representatives will read it.
I am a scientist working for a large pharmaceutical corporation. In my work I read and annotate a lot of publications. Since forever I have been doing this by printing out publications and annotating them with a highlighter and pencil. With the iPad I would like to convert now to a paperless environment. I bought an iPad2 and learned to use iAnnotate and GoodReader. This part of the conversion to a paperless environment is completed. However, iPad file transfer from and to my work PC is a problem. Let me explain.
We have a Windows Vista environment. Individual PC users are very restricted in the ways they can customize their computers. Wireless is and will not be enabled and installing software like iTunes is not an option. Even transfer of files to external drives is prohibited however that is negotiable. Therefore the only option for me, and I am sure I speak for a lot of scientists at other pharmaceutical companies, would be to use a USB flash drive to transfer PDF between my work computer and the iPad.
As you all know, this is currently not possible. For that reason I cannot implement a paperless environment at work using the iPad.
Therefore my plea to Apple: Please make it possible that iPad software like iAnnotate, GoodReader or Desktop Connect can implement functionality that will allow the transfer of PDF files from and to a USB flash drive using the camera connection kit. Your restriction is seriously hampering the introduction of the iPad into the corporate environment.

  • Unable to import some MP3 audi files

    Hi,
I have a number of MP3 files that I want to add to my iTunes library. Most of them are added happily but a couple simply won't !
    Am I missing something ?
    TIA

check if you have read & write permissions for your iTunes music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
you may also give everyone read & write access. if this doesn't help, try the same on your iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder).
    any help ?
    JGG
