Unable to import mp3 files
Hi,
I'm trying to import as an audio file an mp3, encoded at 320 kbps. Logic reads it but suddenly tells me that the file it's not readable, I've tried with other mp3 files, encoded at 192 but nothing changes. Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards.
Two possibilities:
1. If the file name is longer than 31 characters, import will fail. Try shortening the name if this is the case.
2. Sometimes Logic seems to have trouble converting the MP3 to AIFF successfully on import. When it does, I use a different program to convert first (Peak in my case, though iTunes would probably do the job too), then import the AIFF into Logic.

BUG: Unable to Import MP3 Files in Flash CS6
I am unable to import mp3 files of any kind in Flash CS6. Tried import to stage, import to library, Drag and Drop... no dice. Receiving a generic error message. Tried closing out and restarting, etc. - still not working.
Anyone else having this issue?Yep that worked!
The "update" in the library would not update the content but the drag and drop worked fine.
Note: The path in the update dialog shows a relative path and after the drag and drop it shows an absolute path to the file
I also had an issue with the audio being changed from stream to event. -
FAQ: Unable to import MP3 files in Flash Professional CS6
If you are unable to import mp3 files in Flash Professional CS6, ensure that you update QuickTime(7.7.1) and iTune(10.5.3.3) versions. This is necessary to import .mp3 files of bitrates higher than 192kbps.

Captivate 2 Vista unable to import audio files
Hi
I have had an audio problem with Captivate 2 and Vista -
There is a hot fix to enable recording which works.I did that
... . but I am unable to import audio files.. even those that came
with Captivate 2 in the gallery give me the same error message..
unable to decode & import wav/mp3 file.
Does anyone have a solution!! Need to do a demo next week!!
thanks
philHi Phil
I don't suppose using Captivate on Windows XP is an option
for you? This would seem to be a Vista related issue. Captivate 2
may work to an extent on Vista, but it would appear this may be one
of the "gotchas" one may encounter when using it in this
environment.
The good news is that Captivate 3 was announced today and
will work on Vista. I know this doesn't help you immediately, but
will provide an answer before too long.

I get an error when trying to import MP3 files in iTunes?
When I try to import mp3 files into iTunes (version 6), I get an error message of:
The file "song file name" can not be imported An unknown error has occurred (-50).
I have already imported these files into iTnes on my old computer, but run into this problem with my new laptop. I downloaded a new version of iTunes just like I installed all my new programs on this new laptop.
For some reason, I run into this problem when trying to import any mp3 files (as mentioned, even mp3 files that I successfully imported into iTunes previously).
(I've tried a complete removal and re-install, but that didn't help)
Anyone know why I'm getting this error message and how to correct things?

I have tried to import MP3 files to N97 device. I am using Nokia Music. After I copy required MP3 file into Nokia Muisc I can right click and see an option "Tranfer to" menu option. But this is disabled. Can you let me know what is wrong.
I am able to copy directly to mass stores device using file manager and I can play required files by browing to sepcif folder. Any how this is not a neat way of doing it. Appreciate any help on this.

I can't import MP3 files - why?
I'm new to iTunes, and am wondering why I can't permanently import MP3 files that are currently on a DVD into my iTunes library. (Right now, iTunes will only recognize the songs when the DVD is in the computer). Is there any way that I can permanently move them into my iTunes library, so that I can then download the songs to my iPod?
Thanks!Hi Chris,
I'm sorry for all the questions, but when I previously tried to add the files from the DVD to iTunes library (using the File -> Add file (or Folder)command), it created new folders in my iTunes library for the files, but they were empty. So, when I tried to download everything from iTunes into my iPod, the iPod said that the songs "couldn't be found". That's why I was so upset --after spending two hours thinking that I was importing selected songs into my iTunes, I learned that I was really only creating empty folders for them...! -

Thanks in advance for any help !!!1) find an MP3 file on your file system (in Windows Explorer)
2) Right click on it to get contextual menu
3) Select Properties
4) on the General Tab the text "opens with" appears - in your case it'll be windows Media Player
5) Click Change
6) Select ITunes
7) Select Always for this type checkbox
8) Now try double clicking on an MP3 file
9) Does it start playing in ITunes?
10) Check Itunes settings: Edit>Preferences>Advanced
11) Are the checkboxes Keep Itunes folder organized and Copy to Itunes foler when adding selected? If not - read the manual to understand what those two settings do -
Unable to import .avi files from digicam
I'm unable to import .avi files from my finepix digicam. I get a message that says the files are unreadable. With the previous iPhoto version (v 06) I didn't have any problems. Any thoughts?
I agree with TD regarding Image Capture. I have the same problem with larger video clips and iPhoto 6. You can use Image Capture, choose "Download Some", select just the movie, and upload it to your Desktop. Ignore the blue Progress bar, as it seems to jump from zero to 100% with no real indication of the download progress. Be patient, leave it alone, and eventually the movie should appear on your Desktop. Once there, iPhoto should have no trouble importing it.

I can't import mp3 files into iTunes
Just recently, I find that I can't drag/drop (or import) .mp3 files into iTunes (12.1.0.50).
I did confirm that the files aren't locked.
Any ideas? Thanks! No mp3 files from any source, including iTunes itself, or just some particular batch of mp3s files from some unspecified source? It isn't unusual for some encoders to produce mp3s that are not compliant with iTunes. You can try using the application MP3 Scan+Repair (http://triq.net/mac/mp3-validator-mac-os-x) to fix them but sometimes you have to re-encode them. Try playing with Quicktime Player instead and report if it will play the files.
Oh, it also isn't unusual that files do not have labels built in. They are adding to iTunes but not ending up where you expect them to be. -
Flash CS5 will not import mp3 files
With the latest Flash program and the latest Quicktime version, I still can not import mp3 files to my Flash.
No reason is given, it only tells me it can't be done.
elliejothat's usually an mp3 setting problem. open your mp3 in audio editing software and resave.

i cannot import mp3 files to imovie - i tried via itunes but the files do not show up and cannot be dragged. any suggestion? thank you
I have the same problem and read your response and cannot make any sense of it.
What is the "apps area of itunes"?
How about this? For some unknown reason, Apple requires your audio clips to be in itunes first , which is ridiculous.
And when you put them in, imovie won't recognize them. That is just bad design all the way around. Mine are in mp3 and something called m3a, and neither is recognized by this terribly designed program -

Though this is not productive, and to those on the thread, my apology, JimHessI have had the service for greater than a year and I am month to month - so I would be surprised if there is a cancelation fee. With Respect To the 'do not get it' the camera is 2 days on the market, so yes, I do understand no support right now, but, as you stated in your earlier post, 'a couple of months' THAT is what I do not understand! I do not know if you work for Adobe, or just a user but that is where my comments started.
In My Humble Opinion 2-3 weeks, that is something understandable. Now, it is up to Adobe, a business, to make the decision of how many resources they put on this, and thus the timing. As a consumer the only 'vote' I have is my dollar!
The cloud market is great for companies that get a constant revenue stream to fund their business, verse perpetual licenses where they obtain lumps of business from upgrades. When they build a new version with enough value to drive their install base to move/pay for the next upgrade. To the consumer the value of the cloud, should be continues and timely enhancement and not waiting for long next release schedules. That is why over the next few years I will give more money to Adobe that buying perpetual licenses, the continues and timely updates.
I will let you have the last comment on this, as I am done on the negative side.
What is more useful is posts like trshaner who is showing novices like me how to continue to use the product through features in the product.
