Unable to import Windows 7 boot images

When we installed our SCCM 2012 server, no boot images appear to have been created. I have since upgraded to R2, and added CU3, and there are still no boot images available.  I would like to add boot images for Windows 7 x64 but so far have been
completely unsuccessful.  I have tried creating images with MDT on the server, and they will not import. I have also created them with WAIK 3.0 with the WAIK 3.1 Supplement from a Windows 7 machine, and those will also not import. In every situation I
receive the following error: The specified UNS path does not contain a valid WIM file or you do not have permission to access it.  Specify a valid path.  This occurs if I try to import from a share on the sccm server, or from a share on
another computer.  The permissions on the share are set at Everyone--full control share permission, and  NTFS permissions are set to give the system account, the computer account and domain admins full control. The SMSProv.log file shows the
following error on each failed attempt: Failed to get the image property from the source WIM file due to error 80070002. I have read everything I can find and tried everything that people are mentioning that has fixed the problem for them, and so far
no success.  I feel like I must be missing something, but I'm not sure where else to look.  Any suggestions will be most appreciated!

Uninstalled and reinstalled ADK--no improvement.
Every time I try to import a boot image, the SMSProv log shows this:

I am unable to Import RAW still Images from a Nikon D 80 camera into

    Roygo

The way I see it (correct me if I'm wrong) but Raw is supposed to be where you have total editing control of the shot (as opposed to the camera). I believe the next step is to do the editing (i.e. color balance, exposure, etc) then make a regular image from that to use in whatever output you desire (print, web, etc.) Think of raw as the negative. Just being in raw doesn't in it self make it better.
Edit. This is from premiere help files....
Supported still‑image and sequence file formats
Adobe Premiere Pro supports 8-bit per-channel (4 bytes per pixel) and 16-bit per-channel (8 bytes per pixel) still-image files. It converts images with lower bit-depths to 8-bits per channel and images with higher bit-depths to 16-bits per channel on import. High bit-depth files are supported at one single-precision float per channel (16-bytes per pixel).

  • CTS 500-32 unable to retrieve the boot image

    Hello,
I'm getting error on CTS 500-32 phone display as "unable to retrieve the boot image". Below is the phone load name configured on CUCM
    CTS.1-9-2-19R-K9.P1
Please let me know how to resolve it.
    Regards,
    Murali

Did you upload the Codec COP file on the CUCM? To verify go to server CLI and run the below command:
    file list tftp CTS*
it should show you the load, if it does not then go to below link and follow instructions to install cop files on to CUCM (makes sure you do it on all the servers in the cluster)
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/cucm_cts/cucm_cts_admin_book/guide/cucm_cts_admin/cucm_cts_admin_config.html#92115
If you already did install - restart the TFTP services on CUCM.

  • SCCM 2012 sp1 - can't add boot image - Only finalized boot images are supported.

so when i updated to sp1 i had to install the new assessment and deployment kit which i have done.

i have searched technet and on old versions of sccm you could re-install waik to fix this issue, i have tried re-installing ADK and its still doing the same.
has anyone had this problem on 2012 sp1?

  • WinPe boot images

I created WinPe boot images from Windows AIK, Windows AIK was installed on a Windows 7 machine. Once Winpe wims were generated I moved them to sccm and imported the images to sccm, images were successfully distributed to DP. The question is when I am adding
drivers and I want to add drivers to my WinPe, they do not show up on the list. where have I gone wrong?

Perhaps Johan's excellent OSD Matrix will help you understand the requirements a bit more:
    http://www.deploymentresearch.com/Research/tabid/62/EntryId/127/What-if-I-told-you-The-OSD-Support-Matrix-for-MDT-and-ConfigMgr-is-here.aspx
If you're using ConfigMgr 2012 R2 to deploy Windows 7 SP1, you should be using a WinPE 5.0 (or 5.1 it doesnt matter) image. WinPE 4.0 is not supported in ConfigMgr 2012 R2, nor are WinPE 3.1. You can still import these boot images, but you'll not be able
to amend them like adding drivers etc.

  • Lightroom 4.4 crashed on Windows 7 Laptop, lost catalog info, won't import half my images.

Lightroom 4.4 crashed on Windows 7 Laptop today, lost catalog info, won't import half my images.
Not only is LR messed up, it deleted my day's shooting. Can't believe that.
Now it won't import (i.e. re-import) half my files.
Imported half, but had errors importing rest.
    Corrupt catalog?
When I try to import the folders, it recognizes that they are in the catalog (I have "don't import duplicates" turned on).
After running through all the folders, it says, "Nothing to Import."
    Any help?
    Best,
    Peter

    Thanks dj_paige.
I installed a plugin, coincidence makes me thinks this might have cause a LR4.4 crash.
After rebooting my windows 7 laptop, LR had lost record of half my directories on the external drive, as seen in Library Module.
In Windows Explorer, the folders and images are still there.
I tried recovering the lost folder references in LR by doing an import on the external hard drive again.
It took about a half hour to run.
There was a report screen at the end of the process that said that LR was unable to import something like 1500 images.
I did not save the report screen. Maybe it is part of a log file somewhere to give you what it exactly said?
I do not profess to understand how catalogues work under the covers.
I only use one catalog at this point.
My guess is at this point I should de-commission the catalog (whatever it takes to do that - delete it, etc.) and just do a new, fresh import on my images.
I don't feel I lose anthing this way - I can't see where I would lose anything important. About 5-10% of the RAW images were processed and exported to jpg, just for web use for casual viewing. The jpg's are all still on the external hard drive.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Peter

I've seen others get this error code and fix it by injecting the correct storage drivers.  In my case I believe I have the correct storage drivers.  In a separate MDT 2013/WDS environment I can deploy
8.1 to the same machine using the same drivers with no problems so my drivers appear to allow proper access to the drive.  When I check the volumes with DiskPart they all appear to be fine.  The C:\ volume has the _SMSTaskSequence folder on it with
files so it is certainly writable.  The system is set for UEFI mode.  Of course if I change it to Legacy mode this problem doesn't happen.  I have also integrated MDT 2013 into SCCM console and both an SCCM task sequend and an MDT task sequence
do the same thing. Any ideas?
    Thanks,

From the error, the C could not be the staging location because it is system partition. You need to format a fixed drive to NTFS partition and try again.

  • SCCM 2012: PXE deploy: import boot images?

    Hi,
We fully configured sccm 2012 and did osd via bootable media. Now we want to configure PXE.
    We enabled it (http://prajwaldesai.com/deploying-sccm-2012-part-14-build-and-capture-windows-7-64-bit/).
    My questions:
*Is that all that needs to be done?
*It seems to me we need to import boot images in WDS?
*If we do, which to import then (both x86 and x64 probably) + there is a winpe and a winpe.....wim made by sccm, which one to import then?
*on DHCP we change the boot server hostname but what about the bootfile name, what is the path of that? \boot\x64\wdsnbp.com?
    Please advise.

  • "Unable to capture window image"

if I select a window to be screenshot, I get this error:
Your screen shot can’t be saved.
    Unable to capture window image.
    (shortcut: cmd-shift-4 and then space)
It seems to be new in Lion. Never had that problem before. And regular screenshots seem to work fine (cmd-shift-3).
Thanks for any help! ~ Kai

    Thanks Davide ...
I created com.apple.screencapture.plist with Terminal and restarted the Mac.
The first couple of window screenshots worked on a Chrome browser window (command-shift-4, then space bar). But it did not work on other app's windows (Finder, Carousel).
Then I switched back to Chrome and I didn't work there too anymore. Crazy thing is that now it works on Finder windows. Very very strange.
All this is only true for capturing a whole window content (command-shift-4, then space bar)

  • Unable to open windows using boot camp.  Get message "The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk."  Any thoughts, Thank you.

Unable to open windows using boot camp.  Get message "The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk."   I am using an Imac , Lion operating system, and Windows 7.  It worked a few days ago.  Any thoughts, Thank you.

Note that nowhere in the Boot Camp instructions does it tell you to use Disk Utility to format the Windows partition. The Boot Camp Assistant program creates the partition & sets the +partition scheme info+ of the disk as appropriate for the Windows installer but the Windows installer itself is responsible for formatting the new partition with the appropriate +file system scheme+ (NTFS for Windows 7).
If you follow the instructions in the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide to the letter you should have no problems installing Windows.

I also tried making an Image of the Windows 7 partition through Disk Utility but was not allowed to do so.
I am not sure where else to go from here. I need to keep my external hard drive formatted as Mac OS Extended but I also need to backup my Windows 7 partition. I only have the single external at the moment. Is there a way to backup my Windows 7 partition?

Winclone will backup your Windows partition to a Mac formatted drive.
Just search for Winclone on this forum and on Goggle.

"..no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key", i restarted my mac and held options and managed to log in to my OS x again but my windows wasn't installed and when i held options while my mac was starting the usb flash drive wasn't there, what should i do? Also can i restore my usb flash drive to use it as a regular flash drive again?

    Hi Michael!
Yep, I did get this running. Not in a normal way (meaning the easy way). What I did, is that I just created the BOOTCAMP partition in OS X. Just let it format and create the partition where you would install BOOTCAMP.
After that I discovered that via a ISO program (WinClone) you can directly restore a previously created OS X boot image to your current computer. So, I installed a blank Windows 7 to my macbook pro, didint install any drivers and just let it work up then. Then I went back to os X (in macbook pro) and made a bootimage for the BOOTCAMP partition. After that I saved it to my external harddrive and wired it to my iMac. In iMac I just downloaded the same boot-image program and restored the bootimage that I made in Macbook Pro to iMac. After that I made an restart and the bootcamp section with windows worked well with my iMac. Install the bootcamp soft and you can do everything and everything works. FYI, you get the windows working via those steps, BUT if you either delete or do anything to make your bootcamp partition unworkable then you will have to repeat those steps again. But it´s fast non-the-less, so it shouldn´t be a problem for you.
If you didin´t understand anything or something doesen´t add up, send me a letter or a notification.
    Hope this helps.
    Indrek.
