Unable to install any creative applicati

I recently built a new PC and transferred over my Audigy 2 soundcard. I used the creative speaker settings application frequently to configure my surround sound setup. Now whenever I try to install that application from the website, or install creative mediasource, or my old playcenter 3.0 software I get the message "Setup did not detect the required components, setup will exit". Now it seems that its obviously not detecting my soundcard as an Audigy 2. But the drivers install fine and it's listed in device manager as Audigy 2 (WDM). I do have Win XP SP2 installed. If there is a workaround or fix please let me know. I did a forum search for the above message and didn't get any help from that.

I'm not sure. Games should detect EAX compatibility. You won't have access to applying effects yourself though. Using Windows Control Panel's Sounds and Audio Devices you'll be able to set the proper speaker configuration, however you will need to use special software like that in Foobar2000 to enable Stereox2. In other words, your cd's and mp3's are stereo sources so they will naturally only play out of your front 2 speakers unless your player (like Foobar2000) has an option for Stereox2. Creative's software would have enabled you to use all your speakers from all sources.
You might try clean sweeping (clean uninstalling) all Creative drivers and software. Creative has instructions on how to go about that in the knowledgebase. You might want to add using a program called DriverCleaner from driverheaven.net to the uninstall ste

I can't see you being satisfied with just the drivers. I mean, you're missing a lot. For example, if your DVD playing software is just basic you can set it to send the signal to the sound card and the Creative software will decode the Dolby Digital EX or DTS signal for you. Otherwise you just get the player downmixing to stereo or using plain Dolby Surround. (Of course, if you have a full version of PowerDVD-Deluxe or WinDVD Platinum then the player contains what you need.)
You paid for the whole package. It's not cheap. I would use Creative Tech Support and if they can't get it all working for you, take it back and get a different audio solution. M-Audio Revolution is one.
I would bet that if you removed all your hardware except for your Video Card, Mouse, keyboard, and monitor, formatted and installed the OS, applied the chipset, video drivers, installed the Creative card, cancelled out of Windows hardware detection, then inserted the install cd, then it would install fine. Just try to install the card in a PCI slot that isn't shared by another slot.
A lot of work, but it might be the only fix. I've had to do that before I discovered the CTZAPP.EXE trick. But you said your Creaati've drivers are installed by the Creative driver installer. So I suppose you're forced to wipe your dri've. Even if you return the card and get something else, I would wipe the dri've and start fresh anyway. You might as well try the Audigy first. It's great when it works!

  • After installing Trend Macro antivirus, I was unable to install any plugins. I get an "Unexpected Installation Error" message at the end of the installation. Closing the anti-virus does not help.

    I have purchased Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security and am now unable to install any plugins. I have had these plugins before and had no trouble with them but now they have disappeared. I tried closing the antivirus and added mozilla.org to the exceptions list but it did not help.

    Although you would need to backup essential data first, it may be worth resetting device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by yourself).

    I am unable to install any updates on my MBA with OS X 10.7.2. They all result in "An unexpected error occured". I have tried with lots of different updates, firware update, Lion update etc with the same result.
    Any ideas?

    The code below is from trying to install update "Airport Utility" version 6.0 from The standard OS X Software Update function. The user (me) is prompted with "An unexpected error occured". I have tried with EFI Firmware, Max OS X Update combined 10.7.3, All packages. The result is allways the same.

  • Unable to Install any packages in Fink

    I am unable to install any packages either via Fink commander or via the terminal. I was able to install some just the other day, so I don't know what went wrong.
    I have not been able to get Fink commander to see any package lists, despite following every bit of advice I could find in these forumns and on the net. Also, I updated the repositories rsync as instructed on the net. I can see the list of Fink packages by running "Fink List". However, when I try to install "sudo apt-get install xyz package" I connstantly receive the error "xyz package not found".
    I'm sure this is a case of operator error, only I don't know what that error might be. I would be most grateful for anyone's help in this regard as I really enjoyed the Fink programs like kdegames that I was able to install before I started having this problem.

    I appreciate your previous response, instructing me to enter "source /sw/bin/init.sh as a user in order to run Evolution.
    My problem is that this solution only lasts until I logout. When I log back and and try to run evolution via terminal, I receive the error "Command not found". Once I enter your instruction again, all is well-for that session.
    Is there a way I can do this globally and make it "stick"? By making it stick I mean so that I don't have to do it each time I want to run evolution.
    These issues of course don't happen when evolution is run as admin user. Also, it's worth noting that evolution is the only fink program that causes these problems. Other KDE programs like kgeography and kmahjongg don't have such issues.
    I appreciate any feedback you can give with this issue.

    so you want to restore as new not from a back up and then try to download a application. the purpose for this is the fact that if you restore from a back you then your just putting the save soft ware back on your phone. and if soft ware is the issue then this step just got voided out. if that doesnt work or you did do that then it can be something hardware related and it can be replace through apple for free if your under the hardware warranty

    Removed Reader and tried to reinstall, no luck.
    Now my copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro will not run or reinstall.
    I have spend over an hour with Adobe tech support only to be told that they will escalate it to someone else.

  • Qosmio F10-136 - Unable to install any drivers

    I have a Qosmio F10-136.
    I have recently formatted the hard drive. Since I had lost the recovery disc, I had to use another copy of Windows. I downloaded the drivers available online from the Toshiba website but I have been unable to install any drivers except the wireless LAN. Most driver setups refuse to run at all, some seem to install the files, but the driver is not detected.
    Please advise.

    What do you mean exactly by does not seem to be any effect. Can you hear the sound coming from the speakers? Are there any yellow exclamation marks related to the sound card? If not then the sound card driver has been installed properly and the sound should work!

    Where is the problem? Download the LAN driver, unzip the package, access the device manager, choose the unknown device (LAN card), point to the driver files downloaded from the Toshiba driver page and finish the installation.
    The LAN card should be recognized properly.

    As mentioned above; you can install the drivers in device manager. Choose TV tuner in device manager (possibly marked as unknown device too.) point to the TV tuner driver files and finish the installation.
    > 4. During the windows setup, I had created 3 drives, but I cannot access the drives D & E. When I try to access them, windows asks me to format them, but it gives me an error when I try to do so. Also, the hard drive is not shown in the disk management (not even C drive), so I cannot do anything. Although, the hard drive is shown in the device manager.
    If other partitions have been created on the HDD then this should be visible in disk management. I dont believe that you cannot see even the C partition. In my opinion you didnt check this correctly.
    Access the disk management (MY Computer, right click, manage). Choose Disk Management. There you should see the HDD and CD/DVD drive.
    If the partitions have been created but not formatted then you would see just a free space.
    Click right on this space and you could either format this or could delete the partition.
    PS: I recommend using a 3rd party tool like Partitions Magic in order to create the partitions on the HDD (Win XP)!!!

  • Unable to install any adobe product

    Recently I uninstalled my Adobe InCopy and InDesign (CS6) applications using the Adobe installer. Something went wrong with one of them, as it did not properly uninstall CS6 and instead displayed an uninstaller error.
    I've been troubleshooting for a couple of days now, installed the Adobe Cleaner tool and used it, went through tons of forum posts and the result is what I can only describe as a disaster.
    Currently I am unable to install pretty much any Adobe product as every installer gives an error when trying to run it.
    A list of the issues I have found:
    - Adobe Application Manager does install, but produces a "Download error. Please contact customer support." with a Quit button when opening it.
    - Adobe InCopy CS6 and InDesign CS6 installers fail with the message
    - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC hangs on 90% for a while during installing and then says "Installation failed"
    - Consequently, trying to download a Photoshop trial also gives the same error when it tries to launch the Application Manager.
    - I do seem to be able to download Creative Cloud separately, but when it opens (which takes a while) I just get an eternal spinner.
    I'm using a Mac with OS X Yosemite (10.10.2). Previous to the errors I had been able to run Adobe products for over a year without issues.

    Every time I try to update the software (when the Software Update" panel opens up), I can download the software but after downloading it says "Unable to install software" "An unexpected error occcured".....
    I have plenty of HD space (100G available out of 320G), and I've tried repairing permissions, restarting etc but I still get the same error message.

    If you have anti virus software instaled, disable that.
    If that's not the issue, run Disk Utility to verify the startup disk. Not the same as repairing permissions.
    Launch Disk Utility. Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
    Click Verify Disk
    If the disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

    Puzzled here as it was only when N8 released on PR1.0 a year ago that there was NOT a version of Ovi Maps pre-installed in device firmware but v3.04 subsequently added so would be removed by a "hard reset"; if I remember correctly v3.06 is included within Symbian Anna, which should be this version:http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/ovi_maps_installer_3.06_11wk23_b05_tb9.2_...
