  • Unable to install Crystal Reports 2008 SP07

    Hi, everyone
    Currently using
    Crystal Reports 2008 Product: 12.4.0.966
I have the problem about installation of Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack.
I could upgrade it to SP4. However, I'm not able to install Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 07 update due to the error message product version is too old.
Does someone have any similar experience?
    Regrards,
    Kano

    Hello Takumo,
You can upgrade to SP7 only if you have SP5 or SP6 install. This is why you are getting error when upgrading from SP4 to SP7.
    So, you have to follow this path CR2008 SP4 -> SP5 or SP6 -> SP7
Else you can also install full build as suggested by Abhilash.

  • Getting an error trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on a 64 bit Windows

reformatted my computer and now I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on 64 bit windows 7 box.  When the "Registering modules" portion of the install comes up, I get a message that a dll has failed to register.  I saw something about not having the Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable pack (x86) installed but that was not it either.
The cd label say Crystal Reports to Crystal Reports 2008 Upgrade, but it does not seem like I have to have the older version of Crystal insatlled.
Any ideas how to fix this ?

    Hello together,
i've had the same problem. Tried to install CR SP 2 "cr2008win_sp2.exe" onto an existing CR 2008 SP1 installation, and got the above error. After extracting the cr2008win_sp2.exe to an folder using Winzip (or just start Installation, the source would be extracted to "c:\temp" ), navigate to the subfolder "\package" and execute the CrystalReports.msp (in my case: c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp). This start's the Installation of SP 2. If you get an version mismatch, use parameter SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1 by typing command in an dos prompt "c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1" but remember, you need to have an SP1 installed (somebody said, SP's are incremental).
Reboot and apply then the  CR 2008 SP2 FixPack 7 "cr2008fp27.exe". Use this Link to Download CR and Xcelsius Stuff:
I would suggest you not to use IE for downloading, use an alternative browser. I got only bad downloads (IE8 on Win7).
This is the way i did and this works pretty good.
    Good Luck

  • Error on installation (Crystal Reports 2008 and Windows 7)

    Hello,
I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on a Windows 7 laptop.  Receiving Error 1904, Module C:\PROGRAM FILES\BUSINESS OBJECTS\BUSINESSOBJECTS  ENTERPRISE 12.0\win32_x86\ReportConvTool.dll failed to register.  This seems like a premissions error, but I have full admin rights on this system.
We are starting training next week and I need to get the software installed.
Any help you can provide would be great!
    Thanks!

I have been looking and found the exact error above.
So 2 of us have it but as yet there is not a fix.
I understand that SP3 will help, but my problem at this second is I can not get the productr toload for the first time.
Thus I do not think  I can apply SP3.
Or (which is possilbe) am I wrong
I will give it a go
    Thanks

I found another thread similar to the error I am getting which recommended adding Everyone to the Permissions on the C:\Windows\Temp folder. With this set, when I try to navigate to the report on the web app I don't get the error as before - but the application just sits there and spins it wheels and nothing happens. When I take off this permission I am back to the previous error.
Theres nothing revealing in the eventlogs that I can see.
Do you think this could be down to IIS just not knowing what to do with a .rpt file?

  • Crystal Report 2008 Server - Windows AD authentication

We have installed Crystal Report 2008 Server and have created Administrator with Enterprise authentication. Using Administrator login, Windows AD-groups were mapped, none of the user from the defined group is able to login using InforView. Created Administrator using Windows-AD authentication, that user to is not able to login.
When tried LDAP authentication and mapped users, it's not working as well.
What needs to be done here? we need to get it done urgently.

    I have a Windows 2008 Standard 32bit Server running CRS2008
I performed a default install with ONLY WACS.  I have looked through every possible document I could find to get kerberos working and am still having trouble.  The specific error I am getting when trying to logon to the CMC is:
Account Information Not Recognized: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on. Please contact your system administrator to make sure you are a member of a valid mapped group and try again. If you are not a member of the default domain, enter your user name as UserName@DNS_DomainName, and then try again. (FWM 00006)
The AD group is mapped, I have followed every Kerberos setup document to the letter and still nada.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • After installing Crystal Reports XI on Windows 2003 server with one error..

After installing Crystal Reports XI on Windows 2003 server with one error... REGSVR sapldap.dll error.  I had to regsvr it manually.  Crystal still didn't run.  Found out that Crystal Reports XI will not run until you change DEP to protect only windows program and services.  Thanks.

Thank you for sharing your finding. Very much appreciated.
The DEP is a known issue and it is documented in [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] note.
Crystal Reports XI was not compiled with the nx flag as it released before Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2003 Service Pack 1.
As for the sapldap.dll. I'm not sure where this is coming from. I do not see this dll on my install, however it does come with the SAP portal integration kit. So I'm not sure if that is flying around somewhere on that server(?)

  • Problems installing Crystal Reports 2008 Server on Windows Server 2008 serv

I attempted to install the Crystal Reports 2008 product on one of our Windows Server 2008 servers.
    After installing disk 1
Crystal Reports 2008 Server attempts to open up in IE...... but opens up to a blank page
    http://bmlfileserver:8080/CmcApp/
anyone have any idea why? why does it not prompt for the second CD?
Is this a compatibility with Windows Server 2008?

I'm attempting to install CRS 2008 on Windows Server 2008 as well, and I'm running into a few issues.  Did you ever get yours resolved?  I started by trying to use IIS, but I'm uninstalling it completely now and will try Tomcat instead.  Which route did you go?

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Runtime, Windows Server 2008 64-Bit AND SharePoint2007

    Hi Guys,
    here i'm again.
Well I'm developing on a 32-Bit OS with Crystal Reports 2008. I've deployed my solution to SharePoint, but when i try to call a report in the aspx-Website i get the following error:
Exception Details: CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.LoadSaveReportException: An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient, or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required. Please go to http://www.businessobjects.com/support for more information.
    Here are the technical details:
    - Windows Server 2008 (64Bit)
    - IIS7
    - Microsoft Office Server 2008 (64Bit)
    - Crystal Reports 2008 SP3
I've read, that there isn't a 64-Bit runtime version of CR2008. Then i tryed the two following suggestions i found in this forum:
    1. Try to run the IIS-Application-Pool in 32-Bit-Mode -> This don't work, because SharePoint then throws a "Internal Server Error - Code 500" (no SharePoint Sites are available).
    2. Try to compile the Visual Studio Project as 32-Bit -> This don't work, because SharePoint could not load the assembly
Well, are there any other hints, suggestions or  experiences how i could get this to work?
    Thanks in advance,
    Christian

    The System:
    - Windows Server 2008 Standard 64bit SP2
    - Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
    - Oracle Client 10gR2 64bit

    - Crystal Report Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008 (x64)
On a 32bit-system or 32bit-mode (and 32bit Oracle Client) everything is working fine. But I have to use the 64bit Oracle Client, therefore, Crystal Report have to work in 64bit-mode.
Is it possible and what is to do to get it working, thanks,
    Martin

It does work on 64 bit OS - as a 32 bit application. CR 2008 is 32 bit only.

Please read and follow the [Rules of Engagement|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/rulesofEngagement] for future topic posts as yours violates the current policy.
You will need to build your application to run in 32 bit only mode. This note explains how to do it:

  • Crystal Reports 2008 on Windows 7

I have a client running Crystal Reports 2008 in a Windows 7 environment. The client states that when printing Crystal Reports, they will only print to his local printer, to the bypass tray. The client states that when changing the printer to any other network printer, the Crystal Reports will not print. The client also states that printing from other applications, such as his accounting software (Peachtree), Open Office, e-mail, etc. he is able to print to any printer without problems. Does anyone know if there are any outstanding problems with running Crystal Reports 2008 in a Windows 7 environment, or has anyone heard of this type of issue before?
    Thank you,
    Tammi

Thank you, Don. I have not verified if the client has downloaded and installed the Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 update yet or not, nor do I know which SP of Windows 7 they are running. I will forward this information to their IT person and have them confirm this for me.
To answer your other questions, I had disassociated the printer with the reports (we also check the NO PRINTER box before saving the reports). The client claims that the printing does not work in either the Crystal Reports Viewer, nor through the Designer. They are using this as a locally installed application (Windows not Web).
Thank you again for your suggestions. I will get them implemented right away, if they have not been.
    Best regards,
    Tammi

  • Probleming Installing Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 1 to Vista 64bit OS

    Hi There,
Whenever I attempt to install SP1 to Crystal Reports 2008 I am unable to get past the disk space check.  It just continues to display the message below.
"please wait while the installer finishes determining your disk space".
I found this to be an issue on the 64bit OS only because I can install to Vista 32bit no problem.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    Try with this:
Run a command prompt as administrator. From the start menu, select "All Programs", then "Accessories" and right-click on the "Command Prompt" shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator". From here you can use the following command to disable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) with the following command:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOff
Keeping your command prompt open, run your setup or other process being stopped by DEP. Then, to turn it back on again, do the same and run the following:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOn
Now try to install Crystal reports.
