  • Unable to install Flash Player. System is MacOSX 10.6.8

Unable to install Flash Player. System is MacOSX 10.6.8 with 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Due, browser is Safari 5.1.8. Always quit Safari to install. Downloads okay, "Install" seems okay, but doesn't install. Have tried to uninstall and reinstall (download again from Adobe) but still doesn't work, can't view any Flash content online. There is NO Flash Player in my Applications, and I've followed all the help tutorials on Adobe. HELP! This all began months ago when I chose to "upgrade"my Flash to the latest version.

What error messages are you getting when you see that it's not installing?  Can you check your /Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folder to see if you have any files in there with "flash" in the filename?  I'd also recommend verifying that you have "enable plug-ins" checked in Safari's preferences dialog in the security tab.
    Thanks,

  • How to install DB2 in Solaris 9 using remote Win NT machine?

    Hi there,
    I am new to Solaris.
Could you please tell me how to install DB2 administration client in Solaris 9.
The problem is the Installation CD is put in the Solaris server and i have to install using a remote
    Windows NT machine via telnet.
Is there any means for installing the DB2 using the console instead of using GUI interface?
While trying to install using the GUI Interface,
this is the mesg coming after unziping the tar.Z file and running the shell
    " ./db2setup " -----
"The DISPLAY variable is not set properly.
Ensure that the DISPLAY variable is set properly and that permissions are set
properly to open windows on the display specified, then rerun the command."
Is installing the DB2 software through console possible?
    need help.
    Thanks,

  • Unable to install applications or operating system

Ive just had a new hard drive installed as my previous one crashed after only 3 and haly years and I hadt backed up any of my data, so all now lost. Lesson learnt
I have tried to load up the new mavericks operating system but it just crashes the system so I have given up on it.
I am now trying to install microsoft office for MAC 2011 from disk and I just get a error telling me that installation has failed. I have tried reinstalling but still no joy.
This disk has worked perfectly in the passed. Could it be the new hard drive is faulty as I seem to have problems installing any applications at the moment. Hard drive was only fitted last week.

  • I am unable to install iTunes. The system shows an error saying iTunes.cab file is corrupt.

Trying to install iTunes on windows 7 64 bit
The error keeps coming. Tried uninstalling all previous apple software.

I found htis other post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3401328?start=0&tstart=0
I also found this in another post
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

  • I've been unable to install Arch on my system so far, would like help.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L755D-S5164 and try as I might, I simply cannot get the Linux on here. Here's the specs:

I'm trying this with a USB drive because I've had success with this method in the past, except now.  I've tried using Image Writer, Live Linux USB Creator, Universal USB Installer, UNetBootin, and booting the .iso from RAM to create the USB drive, formatting to FAT32 each time.  None of that has worked.  When I enter the boot menu, this is what I get: http://i.imgur.com/gvzRS.jpg. SanDisk is my USB drive, but it shows up as connected to a floppy disk drive, which my computer does not have.  When I select the FDD option, it loops back the screen where I can select the boot menu or the BIOS menu.  When I select the USB option, which should work, the computer just boots Windows.  I've tried the same methods with Debian, with the same results.  The BIOS is up to date.  Does this mean my computer is forever screwed out of running alternate operating systems?  Help, Linux is so fun.

/dev/zero wrote:Have you tested whether other computers will boot off your USB? Until you do a bit of logical troubleshooting, it's a bit premature to blame your hardware. I wouldn't mind betting that you haven't set up the USB correctly. In particular, it seems a bit odd to me that you would specify FAT32.
Yes, I've tried it on an HP laptop and got to the starting point of installation just fine.  I mentioned the format type because I figured someone would ask me if I had formatted the drive as FAT32.  Figured I'd just cover my bases.

Not at all, just got to work out the kinks.  Have you tried explicitly specifying the boot device with a "Select boot from device" option generally mentioned at boot?
Just to be sure.  When you say USB drive do you mean a USB memory stick or a USB drive enclosure?  Also there are some BIOS that will reset the preferred boot order when a USB device has been removed/inserted prior to boot (compared to the previous boot) so keep that in mind as well.
If you select your boot medium but Windows ends up loading this means the BIOS failed to see where to pass control to on that device specified.  So double check your are actually writing a Master Boot Record (MBR) to the USB device.  The BIOS really isn't all that concerned with what you can or cannot do so long as it finds the next device to take over.
Yep.  In fact, if I rearrange the boot order as:
    1. USB
    2. FDD
    3. HDD
I get stuck in a loop that goes from the "hit F2 to enter setup, F9 to change boot order, etc." screen to a black screen, and then repeats.  I'm talking about a USB flash stick here.  How would I write this MBR to the drive?

  • Unable to install Adobe CS3 Web Premium on Leopard

Everytime I try to install Adobe CS3 Web Premium I get the error message something like "Unable to install. Your file system is not supported". I formatted my system drive with hfs case-sensitive, could this be the problem.

I don't know if this as anything to do with it but on Tiger, CS3 didn't install if Safari 3 was installed. Nor dit it uninstall. I had to remove Safari 3 to install or uninstall CS3.
I know that you can't easily remove Safari 3 from Leopard.

  • Unable to install updates via App Store or Installer.app

Ever since updating my 2008 Mac Pro from Mountain Lion (+Server.app) to Mavericks (10.9.3+Server.app) about a month ago, I have been unable to install updates on that system in any way, shape, or form.  Fixing permissions did not fix the problem, and reinstalling Mavericks also did not fix the problem.
When trying to check for updates in the App Store, I run into this error:
I have researched this problem extensively, and found no solution or workaround.  I also could find little in the way of relevant log entries for the problem.
So, now I'm trying to install 10.9.4 manually, from a downloaded .dmg.  As you can see from the screenshot below, I started the installation of 10.9.4 over five and a half hours ago.  One message happened almost an hour after kicking off installation, but still nothing has happened.  The logs are included inline here for your convenience.

  • Getting mad trying to install studio11 on solaris 8

    Hello,
I know I have to install J2RE or J2SE before but every time I try to download J2RE self-extracting archives I never get the same file length neither the same sum. Obviously, the script aborts when checking file integrity.
I wonder, what I am doing wrong. Here are the results of several attempts under windows and freebsd, using SDM or not. I was unable to install SDM on Solaris for the same reason.
    Downloaded under FreeBSD with Firefox:

I just want to compile basic C code within some SSH sessions. Does some guru have a clue about this ?
    Thanks.

Well, I gave up trying to get studio11 installed under 5.8
    A mount of a 5.9 /opt is ok.

  • Unable to install a Solaris OS in a Single disk slice

    Hi,
We are unable to install the Solaris-OS on a single slice disk.
We found that, only "Solaris 10 10/08 (U6)" release can support the single slice disk installation, prior release are not. Is it true ?
We found it from "LDoms Community Cookbook " , from given link
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/SolarisLogicalDomains/Section+2+-VirtualDevices
    Paragraph is
" Before Solaris 10 10/08 (U6), when a backend is exported to a domain as a single slice disk, it will appear in that domain as a disk with a single partition (s0). Such a disk is not visible with the format(1m) command and its partition table can not be changed. A single slice disk will not be visible from the Solaris installer and can not be select as a disk device on which Solaris can be installed. "
    Our Configuration are

Anyone can help for this? Thanks

I have used this method, but the dog gone service does not return a started status. It just keeps saying starting even after the service starts.
Download sc.exe from ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/reskit/win2000/sc.zip and copy
    it to system32
Open a command line, change to C:\Sun\AppServer\lib and run:
    C:\winnt\system32\sc.exe create SJdomain1 binPath=
    "C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appservService.exe
    \"C:\Sun\AppServer\bin\asadmin-pause.bat start-domain domain1\"
    \"C:\Sun\AppServer\bin\asadmin-pause.bat stop-domain domain1\"" start= auto
    DisplayName= "SunJava domain1"
    1. I'm no fan of windows and I prefer Solaris or Linux
    2. Windows should have this tool as a part of the OS so I don't have to go hunt for it
    3. I guess this solution is better than no solution at all :)
