Unable to install EAX console, speaker settings, e

I've had problems with audio files skipping and causing the PC to freeze. I'm down to testing the sound card. I've made sure the onboard audio is disabled in the BIOS and I updated to the most recent drivers for my Audigy 2, but I'm having problems bringing up the EAX and speaker settings.
Those are grayed out and unavailable in MediaSource. I did the cleansweep/uninstall procedures, but I still can't get those programs to work right. I downloaded the EAX console and speaker settings, but everytime I try to run them, they quit out since the required components weren't found.
I have my speaker settings set to 5. in Windows, but I have no sound coming from my center or surround speakers and the bass is too loud. I can't change these settings without the EAX console. What's the problem? Why can't I install/access the EAX console?

Lots of info, but no printer model, how you are trying to connect, what operating system.....
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6

<div class="lia-component-body lia-message-body">Hey there, out of nowhere I have the following problem:
I have used several versions of this audigy support Pack up to now, both in Windows XP and Windows 7 RC and all worked fine for me. Most recently I used 3.5 and 3.6 in both OS for a short time.
now I had to format my harddisk an have installed a clean version of Win XP SP3. I installed an update pack (winboard.org), the latest direct X and drivers for nvidia motherboard and videocard. Then, when I tried to install this support pack, I get an error messagge I-00 when eax-console should have been installed, something about CTengine being unable to be installed.
I read through many of the solutions here in the forum, since this error seems to be not so rare. But up to now, nothing helped. This is, what my install.log tells me:
    [EAX Console]
    GUID={5B7E626-7885-4FC3-A66A-73548A4F0FD}
Warning=I-008 CTRegSvr fails to register C:\Programme\Creative\EAX\Karaoke.exc.
    [Common Audio Driver Interface]
    GUID={700932B3-A964-4878-82A2-96054622AF7}
    Warning=I-007 RegSvr32 fails to un-register C:\Programme\Creative\ShareDLL\CADI\ctcadi.dll.
All other install.log from the other parts of the pack contain no warning. Everything except the EAX-console works fine, if I try to start that, I get an error "No components are registered", an I don't have a "karaoke" register, but otherwise it works well, I can use the effects and cmss.
What the heck could I do?
I made an new thread, since nobody seamed to react to my post in the support pack thread.

HRe: Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6o What you have is a missing file, or perhaps your system is wanting to install direct X redistributable or something similar. Do a search on your system for install.log and when you find the newest one, or second to newest one, open it with notepad. It will tell you exactly what you are missing. I was trying to install some components for my Elite Pro and it said in the install.log that it could not find DXREDIST. So I copied a version I had to the installing program's folder and it worked!? So take a look at that log and see what is missing......write back with your results if you dont mind. In the original post I had seen the registration problems with components. You can manually run regsvr32 with the /? switch and see how to unregister that yourself and then try the installation again.

  • [FINALLY SOLVED] "Audio device not detected by EAX Console/Speaker Setting Panel" Prob

PROBLEM: A message pops up saying "The audio device supported by this application is not detected" when clicking on any Creative Utilities like EAX Console or the Speakers Control Panel.
SOLUTION: After 6 hours of trying out all solution advices/attempts for the problem above, I figured that there are only 2 ways to get rid of this issue.

I have several people at my organization that cannot install the VMM 2012 R2 console onto their workstations. This is the detail from the last person who tried to.
"When launching setup.exe, the installer would seem to hang. After some digging into the Window’s Application log, I found that it was hanging on Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable 10.0.40219. However that was already installed
on my machine. I did a repair on the C++ x64 installed on my machine and then launched SetupVMM.exe instead of setup.exe. This got me to the point where I could select the VMConsole but then it warned that a restart was pending. If I continued the
install it appeared to be stuck with the progress bar scrolling across the screen but it never went any farther."
Other people have gotten the same "restart was pending" message and they have tried restarting their workstation and then tried installing again and the same message always comes up and the install never completes.  Why is this happening?

  • Can't launch Mixer, Speaker Settings, etc with Audigy 2

I wanted to use headphones with my card, but found that I had no sound at all. Checking the speaker settings, I discovered that the dropdown wasn't populated. (I discovered a thread on Tom's Hardware forum mentioning this problem, but no-one seems to have a fix.)
I tried?resetting to defaults, but got an error message saying that not all settings could be restored. I also tried the "Repair" option in Add/Remove Programs without success.
I tried doing a complete removal (using the KB instructions)?and re-installation. Apart from getting an error message about PlxCore.plx missing (which I fixed by copying the file manually), the re-installation completed.
However, I find that I can't launch many of the utilities, such as the mixer, EAX console, speaker settings. If I right-click on the volume control icon, nothing happens.
There is a grey square at the top of my desktop that looks like it might be a partially-rendered toolbar.
I also can't see an uninstall option in Add/Remove Programs for MediaSource. None of the MediaSource programs will launch either, but I can't uninstall them.
I do have sound, but I have to use the windows volume control.
I don't know what else to do. I have been through the re-installation procedure half-a-dozen times.

Thanks, but it looks like I'm out of luck.
I used the utility, but it didn''t help. (It also seems to have messed up my FireFox installation, for some reason).
After booting into safe mode and running the utility, I tried installing again (and got the plxCore.plx error again). Results were even worse than before - I still don't have a working installation, and now I can't even uninstall the drivers - I get an error saying "an event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers."

  • EAX Console issues: An error has occur

Hi there. My name is Emil, 2 years old, and from Gothenburg, Sweden.
I have a SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS and EAX console , 5. i think. I've searched the board and read the FAQ without any help at all, so i made a new thread.
Yesterday, my EAX Console flipped out, or as a matter of fact, my whole Creative MediaSourcePlayer and all of it's function flipped out. Whenever i try to launch the following program, it says an error has occurred:
    Surroundmixer (Surmixer)
    EAX Console
    AudioHQ
    Creative MediaSource Player
    THX Setup Console
    Speaker Settings
    Diagnostics
    Graphic Equalizer
    I've tried the following things:
    ) Reboot
    2) Installing CMS_PCAPP_LB_3_30_2.exe as stated in the help.
I don't know anything about Hardware, so for me to switch PCIslots and stuff like that is impossible. I have no issues about regedit or stuff like that, but I just can't handle anything concluding the hardware.
Thanks in advance, and regards // Emil Svensson, Sweden.

IIrc, this issue has already been here (though looooong ago) and the cure were to reinstall some dll(s), but I can't remember which ones.
If not already tried this, try w/ reinstalling the whole software bundle from original CD (no drivers, but software only). You can start the installer from CD by running the start.exe which can be found on folder CTRun\.

  • Where is my EAX CONSOLE on AUDIGY 2 in Windows Seven 64bit??

?as i said, i really need eax console to increase or decrease volume of any of ma speakers. CREATIVE please help me to find solution. Sometimes i need [color="#ff0000"]concentrate all of sound to one speaker ex. rear left whiteout eax console i can't do that.
I buy AUDIGY 2 to have a nice sound and to use all of its features but whiteout proper software and programs is is worse than my nvidia sound on mother bard.
regards and waiting for your soon reply with an solution

    Hello jmacguire,
I read your hint above a few weeks ago and then bought a used Audigy 4 Pro card with the intention to use it under Windows 7 x64 (because of missing features in the X-Fi software regarding EAX; compare my thread over there).
Your hint (copying the three files in the EAXCon setup directory) together with Daniel K.'s newest v3.8 Audigy Support Pack worked and I could successfully install EAX Console on Windows 7 x64. I used the same trick to install things like Surround Mixer from the original CD, too.
The driver itself works. The problem is, as soon as I start the installed Creative applications, they either immediately quit with "no supported hardware found" or show up with a GUI, where nearly everything is deactivated; cf. the following screenshot. Only the speaker settings seem to work correctly/as in XP:
How can I get back the functionality like editing EAX profiles, CMSS selection, ... in W7x64. Considering even Creative published a new Audigy series driver on 9th April 2010, which explicitly supports Windows 7 x64, there must be a way to get the software for this card running again, must it not?
Please help me, if you can. Thank you,
    orthoceros.

I have exactly the same problem.  iPhone 4S, never been jailbroken.  Not behind a firewall and it happens whether I am on my home compute (iTunes) or directly thru Settings_Update.
Looks like loads of people are having the same problem - and as far as I can see, Apple's sole reply is jailbreak or behind firewall/ security settings/anti-virus.  None of those apply here!

  • When updating to iOS 5.0.1. get the err -3259, thus unable to install new iOS. The message I receive goes: "THE NETWORK CONNECTION TIMED OUT.  MAKE SURE YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS ARE CORRECT AND YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION IS ACTIVE, OR TRY AGAIN LATER."

Does anyone know how to solve this tiresome problem, please!?? The update is downloaded upto 723.5MB, and is required upto 723,6MB, then the error message pops out! Tnx.

I have a quick wifi connection (Mac shows it as about 35 megabits) but I couldn't get the 5.0.1 OTA to work, I had to do it via cable to my computer's iTunes - and as I was already on iOS 5 it was only a small download, basically the same size as the OTA size.
As the original poster is talking about a 730 meg download then I assume that they are still on iOS 4.3.5 or below and can therefore only download via their computer's iTunes - you need to be on iOS 5+ before you get the OTA option.
