Unable to install FB4.5.1 through Adobe Application Manager

Hi,
we tried to make a msi package of 4.5.1 with the AAM with no success for ..1 part of the 4.5.1 (the ..1 patch ...iOs, Blackerry... is not installed, the fonctionnalities are not there, and the FB version is always 4.5.0, the 4.5.1 sdk is not proposed for a new project... even if sdk 4.5.1 directory is in the FB sdk directory )
- no problem to create the msi package (on a virtual machine, Vista 32b, admin)
- we are sure the setup used is for the 4.5.1 version (ok with a manual setup)
- we followed the guidelines of the documentation (no installation of a CS5* product...)
- we tried with and without the uprade proposed in AAM
- we tried with and without the constraint on conflicts
Logs :
-------- without the ugrade in AAM :

Every time... the patch is not installed ! the version of FB is always 4.5.0 buid 308971 and not 4.5.1.313231
We did something wrong ? AAM is supposed to works with 4.5.1?
thanks,

After many attempts...solved - worked around with a 4.5.0 setup (downloaded two months ago), patch added in the msi package by AAM.

  • Unable to install updates nor exclusive features; Adobe Application Manager damaged?

I've acquired a Spanish student's subscription of Adobe Creative Cloud, and downloaded Photoshop CS6 Extended, Flash CS6 Professional and Illustrator CS6. However, I have two issues related to downloading updates:
When I try to update or download an application, the Adobe Application Manager shows the message "Downloading error | Adobe Application Manager is damaged and it is necessary to resinstall it. Download it now or contact with customer's support."
However I reinstalled AAM three times, but instead of reinstalling, shows the message "Updating Adobe Application Manager" and after the installation, running AAM again shows the same message.
I cannot access to the Adobe Creative Cloud exclusive features of Photoshop and Illustrator, showing the application as if it was activated by a serial, and not by subscription.
I am using a Windows Vista 32-bit operating system.
Update: The version of AAM is 6.2

I have the same issue, particularly with Pixel Bender 2.5, all the other upgrades get installed correctly without trouble but this one always fail, the message I get is the same one every time:
Adobe Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 Update
      Installation failed
Can you point me in the right direction? It seems to me that the patch is faulty.
    Thanks.
    Update 01/15/2011
Here's another update on my issue with Adobe Application Manager, I just realized today that actually none of the available upgrades got installed. Although it only marks an error with Pixel Bender, other components such as Photoshop, Premiere and others aren't being upgraded either even when the program tells you otherwise, what I mean is that for example there's Photoshop 12.0.2 available for download so I click on "Update"; the files get downloaded and installed with no error message being displayed but when I check the software it is still version 12.0.1, the same is happening with Premiere and another one, can't remember which one.
This is additional to the issue of Pixel Bender being unable to upgrade.
    Please advise,
    Thanks,
    David.
    Update 01/16/2011
I tried to download all the available updates individually from the Adobe website, the only one that went through was Photoshop, but then when I double clicked it to install it the same faulty application manager launched and I got the same behavior than before, it runs the installation and displays a message that states that everything was installed correctly, yet there no upgrade performed.
All the rest of the available downloads failed to mount.
Also the speed for download is excessively low, I checked my connection and the issue is not on my end, but yours.
This is starting to become very frustrating.

  • Unable to install Adobe Application Manager

I get this before install starts:
Other Instances of Adobe Application Manager are currently running which must be closed before installing this product, Please close or wait for them to complete
But as far as I can tell there are no other versions running
Since I can not get it install nothing else is downloadable

    Hi,
I had exactly the same problem but with Windows 7 64 bit so I'm not sure this will work with Win 8 but see if it helps.
    1. Boot into Safe Mode
    2. Locate OOBE folder using search. In my copy of Win 7 it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
3 Rename OOBE folder to OOBEold
    4 Reboot normally
5 Download Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
6 Locate download and run install
7 Application Manager Installs!!!! (We hope :-) )

  • My updates are failing.  Adobe application manager may be damaged.  I have downloaded and installed a new copy and the problem persists.   Please help.

I am trying to update Photoshop CS6 in order to read my camera's RAW files.  It is a camera that is supported by Adobe Photoshop CS6.  However, when I try to get the Adobe Application Manager to update the software, it fails to do so.  (The spinning wheel tells me it is checking for updates and then quits, saying that "Update Failed - Updates could not be applied.  Adobe Application Manager may be damaged.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.")
I have tried to reinstall the Adobe Application Manager 8.0, which gives me the following error message "We've encountered the following issues.  Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."  However, when I go to the link provided to download the Adobe Support Advisor, this piece of software NO LONGER EXISTS. "
The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued
The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation."
So, I have gone to the forums and took the recommended step to update my software manually - getting the update Photoshop_CS6_13_0_6upd-2.dmg.  However, this update also fails stating that my Adobe Application Manager may be damages.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.  Which puts me right back where I started.
I have also taken the step of completely reinstalling Photoshop CS6.  This did not solve the problems outlined above.
    Please help!

  • Adobe Application Manager freezes during install

    Hi all,
I'm trying to install the Adobe Application Manager on my Mac Book Pro with OS X 10.82. After double clicking on the AdobeApplicationManager.app the progress window appears, but after a few seconds it freezes. :-( I have to force quit the installer. Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Klaus from Germany

If you have Creative Suite 5.1 installed then a version of Adobe Application Manager should be present in your Applications/Utilities folder.  Please try uninstalling Creative Suite from the Applications/Utitlies/Adobe Installers folder.  Once it is uninstalled you can safely remove the Adobe Application Manager folder and then try reinstalling again from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.

  • Adobe Edge Animate Cloud installation not recognized by Adobe Application Manager

I installed Adobe Edge Animate with a direct download from the website.  In order to have it be recognized by Adobe Application Manager, I trashed the App and downloaded it again through the Adobe Application Manager and installed it.  After restarting the  computer, the Adobe Application Manager still does not recognize the app and it is listed as "Install"  Please advice as how to make Adobe Application Manager recognize Adobe Edge Animate so it is listed a "Up to date"?

    Stefan,
I don't think your problem has anything to do with you downloading Edge Animate directly from the website. I setup all Creative Cloud programs through Adobe Application Manager on a clean-installed Mac. Everything looked good for a few months but now Edge Animate and Touch Plug-in Apps always show as "Install" in Application Manager. I installed both like 3 times using the application manager (even though I already had them installed) and that made no difference either. I think problem lies in the application manager. Maybe some Application Manager update that was supposed to fix another issue caused this bug. I'm hoping Adobe is aware of this and working on a fix. While it's purely a cosmetic problem, it's quite annoying to see apps already installed showing up as not installed.

  • Downloading - Adobe Application Manager PROBLEM

I had 2.5gb left on my C: drive (SSD)  where Windows 7 64 bit is installed.  I told your Adobe Application Manager to install my new Cloud Programs on E:\Adobe Programs.   I have installed Photoshop, Acrobat and Dreamweaver.  Now, the Adobe Application Manager program keeps telling me I don't have enough space on C: to install.
    1.  Is it using C: as a Temp area for downloads?   If show you need to change that to the drive I am installing too or many people are going to have the same problem.
    2.  Is this program leaving Temp files undeleted?.  I went from having 2.5 Gb to now only having 398Mb.
    3.  Where in the Temp File Download Area?  (I need to clean it up to get my wasted disk space back, as I told it to install on E:)
    Thanks,

    Hi Gregory,
I'm in the same boat : I'm also running Windows 7 on C: residing on an SSD drive with 2-3GB space left, and also got the same message.
    1.  Is it using C: as a Temp area for downloads?
Apparently, it is. If I remember correctly, the precise message was saying something about "...unable to extract..." or something along that line. Which means the problem is even worse:
First the AAM will use our precious space on C: to download the install archive, THEN it will try to extract it (again on C:) - effectively needing about twice the space of the download (at least temporarily), and only after that (I guess) will it install to the location you gave it (E: in your case).
While I can't prove this, I'm pretty sure this is the way it works (or will work - once you have enough space left on C:)
My current workaround: I use the "regular" download pages for the various CS6 apps (i.e. from the product pages on adobe.com), which in turn will use Adobe Download Assistant (NOT to be confused with AAM) to actually download the installer archives. As opposed to its "younger brother" for the Creative Cloud, this older/simpler assistant actually let's you choose where to download. After the download I can install the products just as usual (as if Creative Cloud didn't even exist), but first choosing "trial mode".
However, they don't really go into the 30 day trial because I register them with my Adobe ID (which "knows" that I got a Creative Cloud membership) and everything's fine.
After re-opening AAM, it even showed me the CS6 apps downloaded via this "workaround" as "installed", so I guess the end result isn't any different than what I would have gotten if actually using the AAM.
(Note: If any Adobe employee reads this I'd be glad about a confirmation that this is indeed the case, though)
    2.  Is this program leaving Temp files undeleted?.  I went from having 2.5 Gb to now only having 398Mb.
Mmmh, might be the case - although I didn't observe this. Did you still have AAM open while checking your disk space? If so, try checking again after closing it. Most programs only clean up after themselves when closing them.
    3.  Where in the Temp File Download Area?  (I need to clean it up to get my wasted disk space back, as I told it to install on E:)
I can't exactly tell you where, but I'd suspect some directory under
    c:\users\<Your Username>\Appdata\Local\Adobe
    and/or maybe under
    c:\users\<Your Username>\Appdata\Local\Temp
Good luck in finding it / cleaning up your C: drive. (And if not, I hope my little trick mentioned above may also help you.)
    Regards,
    Manuel
P.S.: Please, Adobe: Let us choose a) where AMM downloads its files and b) don't blindly assume everyone's got plenty of disk space on C: to extract gigabytes of data.

  • LR3 and camera raw and adobe application manager

    Hi all,
I have LR3 and can't for the life of me find out in the documentation or on the website whether or not
    1. LR3 uses camera raw
    2. if it does, whether it gets installed automatically with LR3
    3. where it might get installed
    4. if necessary, how you have to install the upgrade (I get "adobe application manager required" error message, can't find that on the website either)
    HELP PLEASE!!
    Cheers, Bob

Although ACR (app) may not be necessary when using LR3, it is needed when you use services in Photoshop - such as "merge to panorama", or HDR. I'm constantly getting an error the latest ACR is not installed. WIth the release of ACR 6.2, I'm trying again and when I try to install it I get an error "Application Manager needed to update your product" then:
Adobe Application Manager is needed to resolve this problem, however it is missing or damaged. Download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from Adobe.com, or install this product again.
The link (http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager)  to the page is incorrect and returns a 404 error.
    Helpful.
I'm not albe to locate a link to download a copy of the Adobe Application Manager. Anyone know where that is?
So, I still can't install ACR because of this issue. Although this doesn't seem to be a LR issue specifically, accessing ACR from LR3 is significant to some of us.
    Suggestions welcome, and appreciated.

  • Hi All - Cannot See Adobe Edge/Animate in Adobe Application Manager?

Edit: Have just figured out that this is down to this machine's OS being Windows XP.
    Hi All,
I am to get to use the release version of Adobe Edge, having had a couple of the pre-releases.
I have signed up for Creative Cloud, downloaded and ran the application manager, however I cannot see Adobe Edge/Animate anywhere.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks!
    See pic:

In an upcoming release I'd like to suggest a feature for the application manager. It would be nice if there was a shutdown computer after updates finish option. This way I could let it run when I finish working, leave, and have it take care of shutting everything down for me.

  • Unable to install the latest version of Adobe Muse via Adobe Application Manager

I´m a user of Creative Suite applications  and all of them have been updated successfully with the exception of the latest version of Adobe Muse.
I´m unable to install it. I get error DW 050
    I´m using Windows 7 64 bit.
All previous versions of Adobe Muse have been installed OK.
Following a forum discussion I could read, I uninstalled the previous version, but the installation fails again.
Does any body know how to solve this issue?

    Dear Sachin:
Thank you for your help, however I have to get back to you to inform that after  downloading the new package based on the link that you´ve provided, I´m  still unable to execute the application.  I get the message: “block by the administrator”  and also another message: “the editor of this program is unknown and unsafe”. Please note that all other programs from Adobe´s Creative Cloud have been downloaded and installed with success. All Adobe Creative programs have been installed on my computer several months ago and all are working fine so far.  This morning I installed an update for Photoshop without  any problem. It seems that the problem persists only with Muse. I have to highlight that I´m the administrator of my PC and therefore all applications are currently being executed as administrator. I have never had the intention to block any program, including obviously Adobe´s Creative Suite programs.
Could you please let me know how to splve this problem?
    Michael.
