Unable to Install Firefox 3.5

When trying to install Firefox 3.5 I get the following error...The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items. I am logged in to the administrator account. Any suggestions?

Thanks sig. It was when I dragged the icon I received the message. Strangest thing, since my first post Firefox became unusable, telling me it couldn't run on the architecture. I dragged it and previous 3.5 downloads to the trash. I then downloaded and installed 3.5 and all is good now. It even remembered all my Firefox bookmarks, which differ from my Safari bookmarks.

  • I'm unable to install Firefox onto my Windows Vista computer because when I download the .exe file, it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer.

I click on the download button on the Firefox website and it processes as if it is downloading. Once it is finished processing, I'm unable to find the file to install it with the install wizard. I tried it by both running and saving the file. In both cases, the file just vanishes.

  • I have hcl me U1 tab and i m unable to install firefox. By any how i install it afr that its show the icon of firefox dexktop but still i am unable to use it

"HCL Me u1 tab" I am unable to use firefox in it. After Installation can see firefox icon in widgets b8 not in apps.

    Nikki2012,
I would guess that you have some filter applied in your apptray. Try to disable it in order to view all apps.
Also you can use google play to run the installed apps. Open it, search for "firefox", and hit "open".
Let me know if it helps.

  • I am unable to install Firefox 8.0.1

    Windows 7 64 bit.
Trying to run firefox setup 8.0.1.exe
Error: 7 - zip can not create temp folder archive
7-zip doesn't exist in my programs list so I can't uninstall it.
I now longer have a working version of Firefox so I cannot clear cache etc using Firefox.

Firefox should run fine on Mac OS X 10.6.8
    See:
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
    *Firefox 15.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application (e.g. open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

  • Unable to instal Firefox 3.6 on Window Vistadue to "unknown publisher" error

I've jsut reinstalled Window Vista on a new HD due to a carshed HD. When I tried to install Firefox 3.6, after downloaded the .exe and try to install, Internet explorer immediately pops up a window and it says "unknown Publisher" and blocked the installation without giving any option to ingnor it and continue the installation. What should I do ?

As I have said you have some pretty old software and the problems so far will likely be your typical experience in using it.
You have 10.1. There are five updates for that 10.1.1 through to 10.1.5
perform the updates as required to reach 10.1.5
You may have to do them in order depending what version your have.
This wiki page below has a convenient collection of update links to Apple at the bottom.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacOS_Xv10.1
Which particular version you have is found under the Menu item  About this Mac, will tell you the version.
After you have installed the last update,
    download this utility from here
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106900
    and run Repair Privileges.
You really should consider a later Mac OS like 10.3 or 10.4 if you can afford it.

  • I am unable to install firefox via Internet Explorer

I had a problem when launching firefox this morning. I have now uninstalled it and am attempting to re-install via IE. When I click on the 'Download' button I get an error saying IE cannot find the site and to try later. This has been happening for some time now and I seem unable to re-load Firefox.

Thanks for the reply - but still having same problem. IE Error Message
says that IE cannot download file from mozilla\releases.org etc. ....IE was unable to open this internet site.
Have uninstalled Firefox and also removed any remnants of it from 'My Programs' Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Unable to Install Firefox 5, Firefox 4 won't boot. FF5 says I must close 4 before installing but 4 is not open. I am in a loop. So now I can't use any Firefox What to do?

I got a message under my original Firefox telling me to update. I followed instructions and downloaded new files for Firefox 5. Download was successful. When I followed Wizard to set up, I am told to close Firefox 4 which stopped working. When I click on old icon nothing happens so I am stuck using Internet explorer which I hate. I have tried multiple times to install 5 and always end up in the close old version of firefox before you install 5 loop. Running Windows 7 Home edition

My situation is a similar 4 - 5.0.1 upgrade in my laptop XP home SP3. But the day started out with my FF link not working because the program (and most of its components) had vanished from Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. Maybe as a by-product of the previous session having ended with a forced low-battery shutdown? Then I installed FF4.0 (that was the latest setup I had, although I thought I had been on 5) and it immediately advised the upgrade. (My tabs and add-ons appeared normal.) When the upgrade finished it required a reboot to finish the upgrade. And that began the loop of requiring the reboot to finish the prior upgrade.
I tried removing FF with XP's Add/Remove Programs but that also prompts for the pending reboot instead of starting the removal.

  • Unable to install firefox

I've been having terrible problems with Firefox. It wasn't showing any of my downloaded extentions or add ons so I uninstalled it. Now I am trying to reinstall it, but after downloading the file when I try to install it I get a message saying 'File is corrupt'. I don't know how or what this means. Is there any help anyone can give me please?

  • Unable to install firefox to startup page after downloading

accidently installed a windows startup brower that deleted firefox i don't know what it was now
have downloaded the installation manytimes but keep getting the same responce which is " The
address isn't valid, the url is not valad and cannot be loaded."it doesn't matter how many times i
download it,it's still the same result. i can get my startup brower by going into my bookmarks.

Are you trying to say that you you can't access Mozilla.org, or
you can't download Firefox? No other program should have removed
Firefox, but it may make itself the default web browser.
Are you sure Firefox was removed?
'''''Windows > Start >''''' search box '''''> Firefox.'''''
If Firefox is listed, start it. After the program is running,
Press the '''<Alt Key>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar.
Then '''Tools > Options > Advanced > General.'''
Turn on '''Always Check Firefox Default Browser.'''

  • Unable to install Firefox 4 correctly

Towards the the end of the installation, the Installer checks for compatible Add-ons. At this point the Installer/Updater stops working, i.e., the activity indicator stops and the window freezes. Task Manager indicates that the Installer/Update is not responding. I had to force the closure of the window. After that, I tried to runFirefox 4, it just sits there and not responding. Task Manager shows that the program is loaded but not responding - and consume 50% of the CPU time. I reverted back to FireFox 3 and everything works fine.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
