Unable to install in 64 bit, HELP!!!

I've had Firefox 3.6 installed on my 32 bit system and it works great (was installed by Hughesnet tech at my home) I tried downloading and installing on the 64 bit and no luck. I have severe memory problems and can't remember what showed when install failed.v Please help..........thanks.........Bill

Hi!
What you did is correct,
To install odbc you just have to copy the files inside instantclient-odbc-windows.x64-11.2.0.3.0.zip to C:\OracleClient64 as you already did.
When you run odbc_install.exe it popup a cmd prompt for very short period of time. It´s fine.
What it does is to create the values you saw in the registry, an thats why if you run it a second time it said that already exist. With that, you have installed odbc, now you can test it following this link:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/8.0/projects_and_teams/connect_to_oracle_via_odbc.html
Hope it helps

  • Unable to install itunes 64 bit

Every time I install iTunes on my 64 bit version of windows, it installs it as the 32 bit version. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with the iTunes64setup and it still installs the the application as the 32 bit version, saving it in Program Files/(x86) or whatever it is. While running itunes, the task manager shows itunes(32). I have an HP dv6 running Windows 8 64bit.

Also, if I ignore the first error message and proceed with the installation, I get this second error, that Apple Application Support cannot be found, and the iTunes boot up fails.  Again, any assistance appreciated.

  • Unable to install apps... help me overcome these obstacles:

    I live in Japan.
I got an Original iPad 1.
I want to choose an English-only environment (OS, apps, messages), so I set the device language as well as tehe preferred language of my new created Apple ID to "English".
Now when I try to install apps, the following obstacles are holding me back:
    1.
Wen I tap the "Store" icon, I land in a japanese store environment.
Question: How can I get to an English language app store environment, where I can get free English language apps, or purchase English language apps provided by developers who don't oppose to sell their English apps to a person whonlives in Japan and whose credit  card is based in Japan?
    2.
When I try to install some very simple app from the japanese app store (f. ex. a simple crossword game) I am requested to sign in with my Apple ID.
But when I enter my ID and Password, I am faced with the following procedure:
A first message (in Japanese!) states that something is "missing" (as far as I can understand it), and my only two options are: (1.)abort the procedure or (2)tap on a button labeled "review" (in Japanese).
NAturally, I choose the second option, and tap on the button labelled "review". But then I am faced with a message stating something in Japanese. As far as I can understand it, it states that I have to update the iOS. Again, my only choices are "Update" or abort the procedure, so I choose "Update". But after tapping the "Update" button, I am sent back to the description of the app I was trying to install. When I try again tapping the button labelled "Free" (in Japanese), I am asked to sign in again, and the same loop repeats.
(By the way, my device's iOS is updated to version 5.1.1 and cannot be further updated, according to a message in the Settings Menu.)
Question: Is it possible to install some apps with English User Interface to my device (free apps and/or pay apps)? -And, if positive... How?
    Thankful for any help!

  • Unable to install Leopard... help?

It's my 4th time trying to install Leopard on my Imac G5.
When i put the DVD in and choose the restart option as stated, the computer restars but i never get to see the intall screen. It stays on the apple grey screen and nothing happens...
I have to restart and hold the eject key to be able to get the DVD out...
Once the DVD is out, my computer works just fine, but as soon as i start the installation process again, the same problems happen.
    Anyone had the same problem?
    thanks

I understand your need to preserve your applications and files. Formatting always takes up so much time. However, when troubleshooting, it does eliminate your pre-installed stuff as a source of the problem.
Another alternative would be to do an archive and install. That will at least keep your applications and files. Needless to say, you should have a backup of everything, so you should be prepared for everything on your boot drive.

  • Adobe flash 10.3 unable to install on mozilla please help

having problem to install on mozilla browser adobe flash player 10.3. Please send me instructions.

This page should show your current exact version number, and if it doesn't match the latest available, you can use the Player Download Center link on the second paragraph:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Adobe's site will always try to offer the player for your current browser, but you can use the "Different operating system or browser?" link if necessary to get one that is for Firefox ("other browsers").

itunes 64 bit on windows 7 is unable to install, i have the 64 bit installer version but it keeps saying "errors occurred" at the ( rolling back ) phase. HELP!!!

I have the answer and this might be useful for any one else wondering about this in the future. If it helped you or explained what you wanted to know. Replay to the post pls
It's quite easy actually. First have your "iTunes Library Extras", "iTunes Library Genius", "iTunes Library", and "iTunes Music Library" backed up. Download ans install iTunes 64-bit. I don't know what's so 64-bit about iTunes 64 since Win7 reports it as a 32-bit application in the task manager. But anyway. Install iTunes 64 and launch it. If you migrated your library to another drive like me go to settings in iTunes and change the directory to your location. Close iTunes. Replace the newly created files with your backed up files. Launch iTunes. iTunes will load and then update your library and from there you are set to go! so basically it is just like a normal upgrade. But if you hesitated to go from 32 to 64 like me, here is your answer.
By the way. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit with iTunes 64-bit and it works without problems and syncing with my iPod Touch also works flawlessly.

  • Hi I am unable to install itunes on my Windows 8 64 bit PC, can you help please

Hi I am unable to install itunes on my Windows 8 64 bit PC, can you help please

    Many thanks.
the message I get says unable to remove old version of itunes
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Unable to install iTunes for 64-bit Windows 8

Hi guys, I'm having some problems right now, as I am unable to use my iPhone with iTunes. I get the error message; "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."
I have been able to sync my iPhone fine since i upgraded to Windows 8, this problem MAY have arisen after i last updated iTunes, but I cannot be sure as i haven't synced my phone in a little while.
After uninstalling iTunes myself, i tried to download the 64-bit version for windows from the apple website, but upon opening the install .exe file, i was confronted with some sort of combatability error, which i was unable to solve.
I then tried to re-download it using the Apple Software updater on my computer, but it seems to have not installed the 64-bit version, which I find a tad strange!
Upon writing this, i tried to replicate the compatability error i experienced, so i downloaded the install file from the apple website again, but uninstalled iTunes using that install file rather than using add or remove programs. After I did this, i ran the install file again, and followed the steps- 'Success!' i thought to myself, but alas. Upon plugging in my phone, "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." comes up again.
This is very annoying for me as I have some CDs that I'm itching to add to my iTunes library on my phone, and i am unable to update to iOS 6.1 OTA so i can only do it through tethering with iTunes!
    Can anybody help me?!
    I am running:
    Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200)

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Unable to install the scanner on the HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw in windows 7 64 bit

    HI
am unable to install   the scanner on the  HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Drivers in windows 7 64 bit  , after runing the setup ,the printer will finshing the installation process and and it will show that the HP Scan and HP fax failed.

    Hi @Chembo ,
I see you're experiencing issues installing the printer software. I will do my best to assist you with this issue.
I would disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software and any Real Time Scanning in the Antivirus Software also, to see if that is causing the issue. How to use MSCONFIG . Click on the Startup tab and click Disable all, Then click the Services tab and check Hide All Microsoft Services.
    Restart the computer.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
Run the uninstall from the CD.
Go start, computer, right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
Make sure that the print spooler service is running.
Right-click Print Spooler, and then click Properties.
If the Startup type is set to Manual or Disabled, click the drop-down list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.
Under Service status, click Stop and then Start, and then click OK.
Run the installation again and don't connect the cable until prompted.
    Test the printer.
Then you will have to go back and enable the Startup programs, Microsoft Services and turn the Antivirus Software back on again.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • Unable to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on Lenovo 3000 J115 7387-26U

    Hi Everyone,
I am unable to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my Lenovo desktop. Model : 3000 J115 7387-26U.
When I try to boot my DVD, the systems makes a loud whirring noise.. as if trying to read from DVD, the screen goes blank couple of times and then Windows XP starts up (from my HDD).
I have a Windows 7 32 bit DVD and it successfully started up and I could see the install screen (though I didn't install it. I want to install 64 bit version of the software).
Anyone else seen this problem? Is there some workaround available?
    Thanks for your help.
    Swam

    Hi:
The Intel link you posted doesn't work, so I don't know what you have tried.
    See if this works...
Download the drivers from this link below (first file listed -- 64 bit).
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+Rap...
Extract (copy) the files onto a usb flash drive without any folders.
With the flash drive and W7 installation media plugged into the machine, boot from the W7 installation media.
After you select the install now option, select the Drive Options - Advanced menu, then select the Load Driver option.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and hopefully, W7 will install.

  • HT4929 I am unable to install OS XLion and get a message that it can't be installed on Disk Mackintosh HD because a recovery system can't be created. I am then referred to apple support but am unable to find anything which can help. Can someone help pleas

Unable to install OS X Lion as "...it can't be installed on Disk Mackintosh HD because recovery system can't be created. Visit www.apple......"
Visiting the web pages does not help me can someone please point me in the right direction ?

OK. You have a Boot Camp partition which is why the issue. See the following:
It seems the issue is that the space at the "bottom" of your available space when Lion installs it's partition is already occupied by BootCamp. The fix was to go into Disk Utility; Select your Hard Drive; Select Partition; Move the bottom of your main partition "up" a bit to create a space for Lion; close Disk Utility; Install Lion; once Lion is successfully installed, go back into Disk Partition and drag the bottom of your main partition back "down" to the bottom of the window.
In your case use Disk Utility to "shrink" your OS X partition a little more than 1 GB.
To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired empty space. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
Remember that you only need to shrink the OS X partition a little more than 1 GB. Now, when you try the Mountain Lion installation the installer will be able to make the Recovery HD.
