Unable to install IOS 4.3 Upgrade to new IPAD2/32G/3G

Hello,
I just purchased a new IPAD2/32G with 3G Verizon support. I attempted to upgrade my new IPAD2 with the new IOS 4.3 upgrade when prompted by ITUNES.
I received a message when it the process was done that the upgrade failed. My wireless is working correctly. What can I do to install the upgrade?
Thanks,
RobertSfromNaperville

If you "reset" the iPad, (restored the iOS) that should have installed the new software onto the device. But I am never sure what any user means when they use the term reset.
Some people use the term to mean restart. Some mean reset the system using the home and sleep buttons, some people mean that they restored the iOS  software. How did you "reset" your iPad?
WHen you try to update, do you disable your firewall and antivirus software of using iTunes? Are you using iTunes? Are you using WiFi to update OTA?

Try to force close the settings app and then reset your iPad. After it restarts, go back to the Software Upadet setting and see if it will resume the process.
In order to close the Settings apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen after which time you can release the buttons and let the iPad start up.

  • Unable to install iOS 7.1.1

    Hi guys,
About 12 hours ago my phone lost signal, has been 'searching' ever since. On O2 in the UK.
Spoke to network provider, done all the usual resets.
Then a few hours later realised ios7.1.1 had downloaded automatically. Won't install (message says unable to install)
Spoke to apple, they suggested a backup then erase all content and settings.
Tried this but it wouldn't erase due to an iCloud error.
Tried to erase iCloud account but it won't delete
Totally stuck, have no laptop iTunes to connect to
    Any help would be great
    Thanks Chris

  • Unable to install Acrobat Pro 6 Upgrade on Mac Mini single CPU, OS 10.4.5

I have a Mac Mini (1.5 GHz, Intel Core Solo) with 512 mb RAM running OS X (10.4.5)
Unable to install Adobe Acrobat Professional 6 upgrade because I am unable to install earlier version full version (I own Acrobat 4 and 5 full versions). Finalizing install of 6 asks me to "Manually identify prior install", "Search hard drive for prior install", or "Manually locate on orig. CD". None of these options are possible (Version 5 CD is not a drag-and-drop app). How do I work around this?

I tried "Manually select..." but when I insert original CD of Acrobat 5, I'm not able to select it. Version 5 is not a drag and drop install,...i must click on the installer to install 5.

  • Unable to install iOS 8.3 on my iPad Air

Trying to install iOS 8.3 on my iPad and it doesn't upgrade. Went to settings, then General, then clicked on software update. Answered the terms & conditions to "agree" and Install Now. Nothing happens, it just goes back to the app icons. Any Ideas?

Close all apps on your iPad, reset the iPad, and then try again.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.

  • Unable to install IOS 5.1.1

I can't download ios 5.1.1 "unable to install update"

After many attempts to download through iTunes, I tried the direct method via Wi-Fi and it worked!  First, reset the iPhone (hold the power and Home buttoms until the screen goes black, then keep holding until the Apple logo appears).  Second, dismiss all other applications  (hit Home twice, then press and hold any icon at the bottom of the screen until they blink and display red "-" signs; then hold each "-" sign until the app icon vanishes).  Then go to Settings -> General -> Software Update. It took me about 5-6 minutes via Wi-Fi.
For what it's worth, I'm using an iPhone 3GS and had 5.1 installed prior to the 5.1.1 update.  My iTunes is on a Mac G4 running OS 10.5.8.  I don't know why the iTunes method didn't work, but even if it had worked, it would have taken half an hour or more to download the file.

  • HT5192 Unable to install ios 5.1.1, while is already downloaded on my ipad

I already downloaded the update of ios 5.1.1 OTA, using wifi on my ipad but when it is going to install, message occured "unable to install the update, error occured when it is going to install", can somebody help? The updated can't remove and can't be installed. It's stuck on my ipad 1

You can try to plug it into iTunes and try to do the update that way.  The download might of became corrupted or it can't verify the integrity of the update.  You could also try to hard reset it by pressing both the home and power button for about 10 seconds.  If all else fails, wipe the iPad back to factory defaults and try the update again.  Not ideal but sometimes its the only way out.

  • Space issues and unable to install iOS 7.1

I am not able to download apps or use the camera/video recorder. I've checked my settings for usage and I am only using 1.1 GB's. my phone has 5GB and I am also using iCloud. I also, am unable to install the iOS 7.1 update, or transfer data (pics/video) to my pc. Please help!

    Your iCloud account has 5GB.
Your iPhone storage itself is either 8, 16, 32, or 64GB depending on which you purchased.    This is the space you are running low on.
Go to Settings - General - Usage.    This will tell you where all of your storage is being used.
In meantime, you can always update your iOS using iTunes which won't require you to clear out any space.

  • Unable to install Snow Leopard to a brand new Macbook Pro

I have a new MB Pro that I'm unable to install 10.6.3 onto. This is a machine I got for work, and it has a corporate image on it. I thought I'd be able to create an additional partition on the hard drive and do a fresh install of 10.6.3 on it.
If I just put the disc in and boot, holding down <option>, then I can choose the Mac OS Install Disc. However, after a few minutes, the DVD spins down and the machine just sits there.
If I boot into the existing partition, and run the installer from there, I can point it to the new partition and it starts installing. However, with around 36 minutes left, the machine reboots, and ends up sitting on the grey screen with the Apple logo. Again, I can hear the DVD drive spin down.
I tried this with 10.6.0 discs as well, but since this is a brand new machine I realized that it would probably need 10.6.3. Unfortunately, even that isn't working.
Is it possible that our IT department has done something that would prevent me from booting off of install media?
    Thanks for any help...

It sounds like your computer is trying to use the install disk and is having some issues reading it.
Your IT department may have put a firmware password on the computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1352) but I don't think this is the case as you are able to use the option key to enter the start up manager and select an install disk an start the boot process.
It might be time saving to just ask your IT department if there is something about the computer's setup that prevents you from booting to an Install disk. A basic task that many users want to accomplish requires that ability, repairing the disk with the install disk: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1782
Make sure you are using the original install disk that came with the computer. If you are using the original Mac OS Install disk then check the disk in good lighting for scratches or smudges. A dirty or damaged disk may not respond like it should.
Do you have an original Mac OS X 10.6 Retail Install disk? If so, try using the C key or option key with that disk. It should at least start up using that disk and eventually (1-5 minutes) bring you to the Language Selection screen. If it does then you have dirty or damaged install disk. Try cleaning the disk with a soft, clean, lint-free cotton cloth.
    Hope that helps.
