I have the same problem and
have followed the link uninstalling in the correct order,
    then restarted as per instructions,
went to Apple to download itunes,
    hit download now,
Visit the iTunes download page. Click Download Now to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run).
did not get a save instead of run prompt
Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup (the installer you downloaded in step 3).
If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Choose "Run as administrator."
i can only click run as administrator from right clicking the shortcut on my desktop screen
If iTunes fails to install or repair, it might be necessary to remove components left from a previous installation of iTunes and then reinstall.

  • Are you unable to install iTunes 10 on your windows 7 64 bit platform?

Ok, I was having the same issues and tried uninstalling all Apple software. When I tried to uninstall the Apple updater it gave me the same message about something missing. So I right clicked on it in the uninstall window and clicked repair instead. I installed iTunes again and had no issues.
    Hope this helps!!

    Hi there,
I am also experiencing this problem, but with 1.4.2_06. Last week (late Jan 2005) the dynamic versioning was working fine, downloading and installing the latest version of Java as required.
However now (early Feb 2005), I am finding that after downloading the latest version of Java and beginning the install, I am getting this error.
I was hoping that you may have heard of a cause or solution for this problem?
    Many thanks

  • Unable to install iTunes 10.5 on Windows XP

iTunes says there's a new update the 10.5.  So I try to run it.  Goes through all the steps and warns me there is a version running and I would need to restart my computer and I agree.  But as it goes through the steps of installing and it almost gets to the end.  It says There is a problem with the Windows Installer Package. A program run as part of setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor and then after says iTunes could not be installed and there were no changes made.

  • Unable to install itunes 10.1 on vista 64-Bit

Hi, I have been trying to get itunes 10.1 installed on my vista system so that I can use my new ipod touch. I have tried the update within itunes, but it just stops without anything happening. I have tried downloading the 64-Bit version but the it says "The Windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
I have tried multiple different things suggested through google, and some on here regarding trying to get the windows installer to work, but have had no success. I was wondering if anyone has a solution?

Yeah I have Office but it is working fine, along with all other programmes I have installed. Is it worth uninstalling Office?
No no! We'll leave that in place.
Okay ... let's try a re-registration of both your 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Installer Services.
In your start menu, in your Start Search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
    At your command prompt:
Type *%windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister* and hit enter.
Type *%windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister* and hit enter.
Type *%windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver* and hit enter.
Type *%windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver* and hit enter.
You can close your command, now.
Are you able to do an iTunes install now?

  • Unable to Install VS 2013.4 on Windows 7 SP1 system

Over the last few day and long nights, I have tried several times to load VS 2013.4 on my Win 7 Home Premium SP1 PC with no success.  I have tried several packages including VS Community, Web, and Desktop.  Tried multiple download sites and even
copied the .iso images locally.  Every time I install I get the following message during the install...
MS ASP.net and Web Tools 2013.4 - Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web Package Failed
    and
MS ASP.net Web Pages2 run time package failed.
I have verified the check sums on the .iso image I downloaded and they match,  I have registered .DLL's, disabled anti virus & Firewall options, uninstalled KB2918614, ran the MSI "Mr. Fix it" for .net framework, and a few other I can't
    think of at the moment.
When I attempt to run VS I also get "The operation could not be completed.  No such interface supported."  I'm at a loss on what to do so I thought I would ask for a  little help in resolving my issues. Hope you folks can help
    Thanks in Advance...

Another night of frustration with this install....  Today I reloaded Windows 7 SP1 and ran the fix for VS.  Still unable to get VS installed.  I'm about to give up on this product.  Here is a snip-it of what I see in the log file after
the fix.   I have applied everything I can think of as well as what the error messages  point me to.

I am trying to install it on my desktop.  I am also in Administrator mode.  My iTunes stopped working when I was notified that there was a new version of iTunes and would I like to download it. I said yes as always and it was unable to finish the update because of a

My iTunes stopped working at this time.  I thought I could delete iTunes and start over. This tactic did not work.
Can anyone make sense of what I am saying and help me to get my iTunes back again?

Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Tried your advise but that too failed. Problem still continues. Again that same error  "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".
    Please advise.

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?
