Unable to install large applications

My device is nokia e66-1 slide. When i try to install any symbian app(sis/sisx) in phone or memory card larger than about 800 kb, it says 'unable to install' sometimes just when installation starts, sometimes in the middle of installation. But i can install java applications of any size. The problem is not with certificate but with size. I've tried 3-key reset 2 times but with no result. I used just 13 mb of 106 mb of phone memory. I need a solution. Thanks in advance

  • Unable to install large applications in nokia 2690

    Hi,
I want to install a collins dictionary .jar application in my nokia 2690 suite via bluetooth. It's around 8 mb big. However, an error occurs saying that the file is too big.
First i used the ovi suite and then Windows explorer. It failed both the times.
How can this be solved ?
Should I try using a data cable instead ?
    Thanks ...

For the 2690, the maximum size file that the phone allows installing is 1MB.
"Maximum JAR Size 1 MB" (which has nothing to do with any limitations for downloading, if there are any) on http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/2690/

  • I have a problem with Apple store when installing large application: The system crashes. Any suggestion?

I have a problem with Apple store when installing large application (example xCode): The system crashes.
It begun with 10.8 usualy with few tries it work but with 4.6 no succes.
    Any suggestion?

If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the entire contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post shutdownStall, spin, or hang reports.

  • Unable to install signed applications; themes inst...

Kind of an awkward subject line, I know, but I can't really describe it any other way.
Last month I tried to install a bunch of Christmas themes for my E66. I signed all of them using my Symbian Signed cert & key with SignSIS, and installed them onto my E:\ through Ovi/Nokia suite. I've been doing this for the past two years and haven't had any issues before.
Unfortunately, the themes weren't showing up in the Theme section on my phone or in the application manager, but they did come up in UninstallKing. I ended up loading them using the UnSis method ( /t5/Pool-of-Knowledge/Restoring-A-Deleted-or-Vanished-Theme/m-p/367498 ), and they were fine.
I just tried to reinstall Free-iSMS on my phone since the new version's online "registration" was downright sketchy and didn't work. Unfortunately, all of the versions I've download (v1.03, v1.08, etc.) and signed using SignSIS and Martik REFUSE to install. The cert and key are for the correct IMEI, the certificate date is with in the range, but every time I get the same error: "Unable to install, constrained by the certificate."
Thinking it was an issue with my certificate and key, I redownloaded them from Symbian Signed and tried to install a theme from Pizero. I signed it using SignSIS and the new cert/keys, and it installed just fine... but still won't show up in the application manager or theme list.
WTH is going on with my phone?! Did I mess something up when I installed those themes using UnSis?
    Thanks-
    -KC

  • Installing large applications using iPCU

    Hi everybody,
We are working on a really big enterprise application (over 7Gb) and now trying to distribute it. iTunes on both MS Windows and Apple Mac OS X doesn't want to install such a big IPA at all, so we have chosen to use iPhone Configuration Utility. Installation went well on Mac OS X, but we have a requirement that it should also work on Windows PCs. Trying to do it on Windows led to several problems:
First of all, it was impossible to drag'n'drop IPA file into Applications section of iPCU or even Add using corresponding button. We've just received the following error message: "C:\_BIG_APPLICATION_.IPA could not be read". Fortunately, that problem was overcome by using manual renaming IPA -> ZIP, decompressing and putting APP package into iPCU applications folder (C:\Users\$User\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileDevice\Applications).
Secondly, and it's a real problem now, we couldn't manage to install the application on device. It starts copying file, which is logged into iPCU log file, but then just stops without any error message. The last iPCU log lines are:
    [2012-02-13 16:10:03.0627 iPCU] Debug: Status : TakingInstallLock

Seems like a signing issue, but if we prepare a build without large content, installation completes successfully. Moreover, as I've said earlier it works fine on Mac OS X. We are using the same Distribution certificate, mobileprovision and build script in both cases.
    Does anybody have an idea?

    Thanks, KiltedTim.
I've already done it. It's just hard to say on this stage, wether it's the Apple's product bug or our internal building problem.

  • Unable to install Adobe Application Manager

I get this before install starts:
Other Instances of Adobe Application Manager are currently running which must be closed before installing this product, Please close or wait for them to complete
But as far as I can tell there are no other versions running
Since I can not get it install nothing else is downloadable

    Hi,
I had exactly the same problem but with Windows 7 64 bit so I'm not sure this will work with Win 8 but see if it helps.
    1. Boot into Safe Mode
    2. Locate OOBE folder using search. In my copy of Win 7 it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
3 Rename OOBE folder to OOBEold
    4 Reboot normally
5 Download Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
6 Locate download and run install
7 Application Manager Installs!!!! (We hope :-) )

  • Windows 8: Unable to install Adobe Application Manager or Download any Creative Cloud Aoos

I just got my creative cloud subscription, and when the Apps page launched, I was not able to install the Adobe Application Manager.  Windows 8 pops up a Launch Application window and it wants me to find the appropriate application to open the Adobe Creative Cloud Client with.
I am doing this in Firefox.  I have added creative.adobe.com to my trusted sites and it still does not work.  What do I have to do to all using in Firefox?  What about Chrome?

You can install the Adobe Application Manager for Windows from this link http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773.

  • Unable to install any applications with PCSuite

I have the latest PC Suite. Problem:
Cannot install any software onto the phone using either cable or bluetooth.
Cannot browse the phone using the Nokia Phone browser as it comes up with nothing...it wont show whats on the phone.
Only way I can transfer any software is via the obex file transfer method of sending it via a message.
Now, I dont know if this is due to an upgrade from Microsoft to sp2, as all was working about a month or so ago.
Bluetooth and usb connections are find and am using the latest drivers.
Sent an email to Nokia technical and just waiting for a reply..LOL.
Thanks to anyone who can shed any light on this for me.

    Hi,
I actually prefer the functionality of manually installing phone apps as you describe instead of using the PC Suite.
I don't use PC Suite to install .sis or .jar phone applications as it's too buggy to use. Instead, I use BlueTooth to transfer the file manually to the phone...
    - Locate the .sis or .jar file on your PC in Windows Explorer.
    - Right Click the application file.
    - Select, 'Send To', 'BlueTooth Device'.
    - Transfer file to your phone.
In the phone go to your inbox and select the newly received message. The .sis or .jar application should then install. For me, PC Suite is just too hit and miss to rely on. I used to have a 7650 before getting my current N70 and PC Suite was a bit of a double whammy in that it was not only buggy but when it did work it used to suck resources from the Windows OS quite badly.
Again, I don't use the phone's built in file browser as it is too limited and hides too many folders, I guess mainly to protect newbies from crippling their smart phone. Instead I use FExplorer V1.15 which is an excellent piece of S60 freeware. The application is available from
    http://www.gosymbian.com/
and imho is an essential app for any Series 60 smart phone. Be warned though!! If you don't know your way around the system directories and accidently delete the wrong system file you can end up seriously damaging your phone, just like Windows etc.
    Hope that helps!

  • Unable to Install New Applications

I just purchased a new Seagate external hard drive.  When I begin the installation process the hard drive dashboard will not install to my computer.  It appears taht I am having difficulty installing anything new without an error. When I try to install new programs to my iMac I get a message that says the application quit unexpectedly.  What can I do to fix this problem?  Thank you.

Thanks Kappy, I have a iMac 7,1 with the Mac OS X Version 10.5.8.  I have not used the computer much in the last year.  I followed the instructions to set up the drive but I cannot get past the initial Seagate Dashboard Installer.dmg,  It begins to install but when I get to the Mac Installer and double click I get the error message "the application Dashboard quit unexpectedly".   I tried to download the application straight from the Seagate website as well and the same message occurred once I came to the Mac Installer step again.

  • Unable to install new applications to iPhone with iTunes 8

    Hello,
I am a Mac Newbie. My wife and I share a MacBook (10.5.5), we both have administrator accounts on the MacBook. We both have iPhones (2.1). I have downloaded numerous song and applications to my iPhone. My wife tried to download a few applications from the iTunes Store and received the following message, "Some of the applications in your iTunes library, including 'Wikipanion', were not installed on the iPhone '[Wife's name] iPhone' because you are not authorized for them on this computer." Does anyone know what is causing this error?
    Thanks
    Brian

This is a common problem which I have not seen any reasonable response about from Apple. I have this problem. I suspect it may be related to the 2 phone thing. I have tried several posted fixes (reload phone from backup, remove apps and sync from itunes), but none permanently fix the problem.

Your new E72 (S60 3rd FP2) runs a different OS as E63 (S60 3rd FP1). Check Ovi store for apps for the E72. Set your App.Mgr. to install all software and turn off online certificate check.
