Unable to install Lightroom on Windows 7 Pro 4GB

hello
I have a Creative Cloud Subscription, I am using a Dell Vostro 3360 laptop. Windows 7 Pro SP1, 64-bit, up-to-date. 4 GB RAM, laptop screen is 1366x768, plus ane external larger display. Graphics card is "Intel HD Graphics 4000".
I read the Adobe document "minimum requirements for Lightroom" that says:
Windows
Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor*
DirectX 10–capable or later graphics card
Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
2GB of RAM (4GB recommended)
2GB of available hard-disk space
1024x768 display
DVD-ROM drive required if purchasing Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® retail boxed version
Internet connection required for Internet-based services†
and it appears that my hardware configuration is quite sufficuient.
However I don't see Lightroom in the Creative Cloud application list of downloadables app.
When I try to download from here: creative.adobe.com/products/lightroom nothing happens.
What is happening here?
Thanks
Bruno Bonnefont - [email protected]

in fact, yes, I had a previous release of Lightroom installed on my PC (I did not use it & I forgot about it).
Yes, I uninstalled it, then a Lightroom entry appeared in the Creative Cloud app, and I have been able to download it and then start it properly.
The issue is now closed.
Thanks
Bruno Bonnefont

  • Unable to install Itunes in Windows XP

I am unable to Install Itunes oin Windows xp professional SP2, it gives below error: Let me know how to get it installed

OK, there is still not much to go there.
I assume you are using 32 bit XP Pro, iTunes will not install on 64 bit XP but you should get a different error.
Lets try installing the components of iTunes separately.
Download the iTunes installer and save it in your downloads folder.
The files will be either itunessetup.exe or itunes64setup.exe for a 64 bit system.
Open notepad and copy the following 3 lines into it.
    md temp
    itunes64setup /extract temp
    pause
Remove 64 for 32 bit itunes.
Save the file as extract.bat into the same folder that contains the itunes installer.
Open the downloads folder and you should find the extract file that you saved. Double click on it and a black window will open telling you what it is doing. When its finished, press any key to continue.
You should find that a folder called temp has been created containing all the itunes msi files.
Install by double clicking on them  in this order:
    Apple Application Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Apple Software Update
    iTunes
Make a note of any error messages and which component it relates to.
Also use the Windows Event viewer to see if there are error messages at the time you attempted the installs.
The following article gives information about using the Event Viewer:

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

Why not?  Should we guess at the issue or do you plan to provide details so that others can offer suggestions/solutions?

  • Unable to install ituns on windows 7 64 missing .dll file

Unable to install ituns on windows 7 64. Installer states missing .dll file.

Here is a solution that worked for a user who also had a problem with iTunes Software Support. This thread was for a win32 version, but Maybe this is the problem for both of you?:
IT appears that AppleApplicationSupport.msi, is not opening and installing properly.
Download and SAVE iTunesSetup.exe, where you can find it.
    Then:
    1. Download and install WinRAR.
    2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
    3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
    4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally.
Here is a link to that fairly lengthy thread.. http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2151777&tstart=-1

  • Unable to install Itunes on Windows 8

Unable to install Itunes on Windows 8.
It states Errors occured during installation. Your system has not been modified, and does not fully down load.
    I have tried :-
    Uninstall Itunes and then reinstall
Uninstalled Itunes then connect Iphone to computer and tried to source relevant Itunes package.
ininstalled Itunes then tried to install a later version
Even tried an Itunes 64 bit installer then tried to download Itunes.
All the above have been unsucessful. I have a 64 bit operationg system, x64 based processer laptop computer.
I have spoken to the staff at apple store who were all really nice but could not offer any help unless I had an apple computer.
Please help as I have two Iphones and an Ipad which are limited without Itunes.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
If you still have problems installing iTunes download and install 7-Zip (free) and a fresh copy of the current installer from https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ or use these direct links (which will go out of date at some point):
    iTunes 11.1.5 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-02-25)
    iTunes 11.1.5 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-02-25)
Then unpack the installer into its components using 7-Zip and install them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). If any of the components still fail to install you may get more useful error messages as to why not.

  • Unable to install Lightroom 4 on imac 10.6.8

I am unable to install Lightroom 4 from the original disc on to my imac 10.6.8.  I successfully installed Adobe CS6 on to the imac without any difficulty.  While attempting to install Lightroom 4 I receive a screen that says "Installation Failure.  Unknown error.  Contact software adminstrator."  The imac has an intel core 2 duo processor, 2 gb ram.  The system requirements are the same as CS6 which installed without problems.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for any help!

Not sure... It states that 64bit support is required, which would preclude older iMacs and MacBooks and you seem to be using exactly one of those... I'm afraid this will not work.

    Hi,
Be sure to follow the steps below to install the printer on a Windows 2008 server, the installation should not be used as standard, but by customizing the installer using an Msiexe ccommand.:

  • Unable to install lightroom 3.6 error code 2753

Had issues with my computer today (windows 7 64 bit) finally was able to get a restore point that would allow the machine to access windows and all the programs (including Photoshop CS5) were functional except lightroom 3.6. I was not able to have the windows un-installer remove lightroom so I had to go and do it manually. I downloaded another copy from Adobe. When I try to install I get the error code 2753. The file Lightroom.exe is not marked for installation. I checked the FAQ's and there was only one reference to that code but it refered to lightroom 2.0 software installation. I re-installed lightroom 2.6 with no problems and I tried installing the 3.6 software after installing the 2.6 version. I had no luck still receive the 2753 error code.  When I initially installed the 3.6 version on 12/4 there were not issues and the software worked with no problems. Any ideas / suggestions? Thank you.

Hello Jeff, Thanks for the reply. What had occured was when I was working inside of Lightroom one of those balloon messages popped up making note of a hardware driver not working or missing, I really did not pay attention to be honest I thought it may have had something to do with the download of files off of the compact flash card. After downloading the files into lightroom I turned off the machine. Later on when I came back to work on the files the machine would not boot up into windows 7 instead a sort of chkdsk utility initiated, after it finished checking the disk I was given the option of going to a previous restore point, the first time it did not work. On the second try with a different restore point selected I was able to bring up windows. Everything was working except for the lightroom software. After running Registry Reviver and also optimizing the registry I still was unable to get lightroom to work.
I decided to download another copy and re-install. Well the first trouble encountered was not being able to un-install the software from the control panel utility so I tried installing the software without the old software being removed, that is the first time I received the 2753 error code. I checked adobe.com FAQ page and the only mention about this code was in reference to the 2.X version. I tried the procedures there anyway. Still no success with the error code 2753 still coming up. I then decided to remove the software manually from the computer (only in windows, did not go through DOS or to regedit). I again ran Registry Reviver software  and tried installing the software again with no success still.
Finally I decided to google the error code 2753 and review what was actually happening. Part of the instructions to clear the code required me to download some software that microsoft created (msicuu2) that would force the removal of the lightroom software from my machine (it was still showing up in the control panel un-install eventhough I removed it from the program file in windows). I again ran Registry Reviver and Optimized the registry, re-booted the machine gave it another try and this time I had success.
I am happy to report that Lightroom is working without any problems. I cannot say with any certainty what caused the problem initially for all I know it could be just a case of SH's syndrome.
I took note in your reply about the stability issue, I will pay more attention for now to see if there is a re-occurrence of this or a similar problem and then address it at that time. I would like to mention that I did not loose any photo files or have any files corrupted due to this problem........ so I am thinking more a windows problem as you alluded to in your reply than it being a Lightroom problem.

  • I am still unable to install itunes in Windows Vista

I have tried to run Fix it 4 times now after doing other things suggested in the Apple community and I am still unable to install itunes. Do you have any other ideas?
I've been uninstalling/reinstalling and using CCcleaner, sfcscannow and nothing seems to correct error msg 2- corrupt files found/unable to fix.  Now what??????
I am using windows Vista.  I NEED help!

nothing seems to correct error msg 2
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
