UNABLE TO INSTALL LOGIC STUDIO 8 on NEW MACBOOK PRO

anyone have any ideas why ?
It gets to the last 2 minutes and hangs up at that point for hours .

Hello, M2.
A few ideas. 1 Is the install disc faulty? 2 Have you got all the system u/dates on your mac? Should 10.5.8 for leopard. or 10.6.2 for snow. Do you have the latest drivers for your audio interface? Ols ones can sometimes [although its unlikely] cause problems.
Have you contacted tech support? Even if your copy isn't registered, you can get help over the phone. They'll ask for a serial number. You'll also need to get the updates as LP8 out of the box had some issues.
I'm guessing you have the first macbookpro 17" its a core duo with 2G Ram max. Same as mine. I have 8.02 running under snow leopard and its fine. I suspect that something in one of those missing system updates might not allow L8 to complete the install.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Yes, gladly. I am trying to install on a 13" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3. I insert the disk into the SuperDrive. The I work '09 window pops up with two icons: one Tim install and one that says "Read before you install iWork." I double-click on the "Install iWork '09" icon, and a window appears that says, "This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed." I click "continue" and see "Welcome to the iWork '09 installer." I click on "Continue." The "read me" bullet on the left lights up, and I see "Read before you install. . . ." I click "Continue," then see the software license agreement. When I click on "Continue" again, I am asked to agree, and I do. The window then says, "Standard Install on 'Mackintosh HD" and indicates how much space the program will take.
I click "Install," enter my password, and the installation begins. It goes through a validating phase and begins "writing files." It indicates that installation will take about 30 minutes (although that number fluctuates). After about four minutes it goes to "cleaning up." Then after just a few seconds, the "Summary" bullet on the left lights up and this message appears: "There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing again." There is a large yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, and a bold "The installation failed." Below that appears "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
At that point, a "Close" button is pulsating blue at the bottom of the window.
Sorry for the tedious detail. Anything revealing there?
    Thanks!

  • Unable to Install CS4 Design Premium on new Macbook Pro

I have recieved an answer regarding my inability to install my software on my new computer, but it does not address the problem that there is no record of my previous purchase.  I'm sure this is because it was purchased in 2009 and whatever e mail was sent to me with the serial number is now lost to history. Any suggestions out there?

I DID register my CS4 Suite in 2009. I am certain of that.  I just don't have the e mail that was sent to me and I used a different email address at that time than I am using right now. What are my options?

  • I can't install my old logic 8 on my new macbook pro. It says it does not support powerpc applications anymore. what do i need to do?? this is ridiculous!!!

Logic 8 will probably run on your new machine but the installation program contains some older PPC code for pre Intel Macs. This was not a problem as all OSX versions contained the "Rosetta" PPC emulation, that is, up until Lion when all PPC emulation was dropped.
There are ways to do this however, try searching Google for:  Installing Logic 8 under Lion or Mountain Lion.

  • How do I install logic 9 on an older macbook pro ?

I downloaded logic 9 on my new macbook pro through to App Store. I want to also run it on my older macbook (Early 2008) currently using mac os x 10.5.8. How do I upgrade the Os X so it works and how do I install logic on the old one ?
    - I can't go from 10.5 to 10.8
    - I need at least 10.6.8 to run Logic Pro 9
    - Once the Os X is up to date, how do I transfer the app, if possible avoiding downloading 20Gb again.

Hi just curious, how is Logic running on your new Macbook?

  • Hard drive crash on our iMac with CS4. Adobe has deactivated it from that computer and I need to download/install it onto our two new macbook pro computers

How do I download/install CS4 on our two new macbook pro computers? I have the discs but no disc player on the macbook pro computers?

    Hi AnnieMay1,
I have done the necessary changes you will now be able to use the serial number.
    Thanks

  • Unable to Install Logic Studio

I am trying to install Logic Studio and am failing every time.
    I have a Powerbook G4 1.5 Ghz with 1.25 mb Ram running OSX 10.4.10
I am able to start the installation, choose the location of the install, and select which components I'd like to install. I have decided to limit the install to only Logic Pro and leave out all the other programs as my harddrive doesn't have the space.
So according to that, only two items are checked. Logic Pro, and Apple Loops Utility under Tools. It's telling me that it requires 5.7 GB harddrive space, which I have. I click upgrade and type in my password. It installs Logic Pro, installs Logic Node, and when it tries to move on to Logic Utility (or something like that, the screen changes too quickly) it goes to 3% and gives me an error.
Then it tells me to "please try installing again"
I've tried installing logic node separately but it still doesn't work.
What am I doing wrong? Normally I'm ok with computers, but i guess only on PC's. Macs are a new world to me.
I just realized I only have Garageband 2. Is it because I don't have Garageband 8?

Maybe this is inapropriate but I once got very lucky by just cleaning the DVD which was full of finger prints, After I cleaned it...It worked.
Like must of us I have a lot of experience being frustrated, even the most knowlegable among us get frustrated at time.
What I would do is proceed in a mechanical way step by step (computers hate this)
    1. Clean DVD,
    2. Seat down and read the install procedure.
    3. Disk Utility, Startup disk>Verify and Repair disk permission
    2. Trash Logic Pro 8, Sound Track Pro, Main Stage and Garage Band (Save GarageBand Files
somewhere else if you need too)
    3. Go toFinder > Empty Trash
    4. re-install The absolute minimum (No Node dont need this yet) (Maybe you're forced to it I dont
remember) but if you have the choice the answer is always NO
    5. Proceed slowly reading carefully all instructions.
    6. Repeat 1-5. If this dont work Maybe you have deficient DVD's it Happen (It happen to me)
Honestly Your system seams to be bare bone minimum to run Logic Pro 8. Maybe Logic has out grow it.
    Best of luck

  • Cannot install GoLive 8.01 0n new MacBook Pro/Snow leopard

Purchased a brand new MacBook Pro (with the new Snow leopard) so I could leave my house and still work.
The most important application I use is Adobe golive CS2 8.01.
I have the 6.0 disk, and the upgrade registration number but they will not install in the MacBook Pro/Snowleaopard. I've tried 50 times. It will allow an install of the 6.0, but says my registration number is invalid for the upgrade.
Adobe doesn't support the product anymore on any level. I'm beside myself. The laptop is worthless to me without that application.
I've tried replacing the keylogin, prefs reinstalls etc... nothing.
I'm desperate. If anyone has any ideas, please help.

wonder is you upgrade with GL INSTALLED ON YOUR LAPTOP...IT SHOULD STILL WORK...
let me know if you try it..
i'm thinking of downgrading the OS on the laptop, install GL and then upgrade back to SL... too much freakin work!

Downgrading, install GL, then upgrade sounds like a good move. Let me know if it works... if you do it. I understand the frustration of having to go to all this trouble. I've had my share of problems lately. First my MBP hard drive went bad. Had to reinstall everything. Then I took it on a trip so I could keep up with client work, and it died again. Took it to Apple in Portland, Maine. They had to ship it off for repairs again. This time the Logic Board and Video Display. Now my G5 is acting up again. Often too busy to deal with it.
I'll follow along to see how things go for you. Keep us posted if you would.

  • Install Flash from CS5 on new Macbook Pro errors

    Hi,
I just tried to install my CS5 Master Collection on my new MacBook Pro. All the programs installed properly except Flash Pro. I understand why I have errors for Flash Player but the rest, I'm not sure how to move forward to get this installed. I tried opening Flash Pro anyway but it tells me to reinstall. I have tried 2 times now.
Any thoughts? I know I'm missing something or am I screwed since I'm using a Mac, which hates flash and CS6 is out on top of that factor?

  • Moving a Logic selling to a new Macbook pro

Hi, i've been running Logic on my macbook for a few years and i've just bought a new macbook pro and installed my copy of Logic and it won't open. I get a message saying Logic unexpectedly quit.
I've done a bit of reading around and I didn't realize you can't have the same copy on 2 laptops, so my question is - as i've sold my old macbook and am in the process of erasing the hardrive will this make my licence available for use on my new macbook? I hope so because i can't afford another copy *_*
I'm in the middle of mixing a project at the minute and i don't want to erase my old macbook until i know i'll be able to transfer my copy of Logic.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi
Did you a) update to the latest OS on the new Mac, and b) update Logic to the latest version?
If your new Mac is on Lion, you will need to update Logic to v 9.1.5 (?)... or 9.1.6.

  • Installing Windows XP on a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro with Retina display and need to install Windows XP on it so that I may run 3 Windows programs.  I have watched a few videos on the internet on how to do this through Boot Camp Assistant, and it says at one point to use the driver CD from Mac to install the drivers.  I did not get any CD's with my new MacBook Pro.  I also saw on some of these boards that said Boot Camp does not support Windows XP.  The people at the Apple store said it can run Windows XP, so I have ordered an original version.
Question 1.  Does my MacBook Pro with Retina Display running OS X version 10.8.3 able to run Windows XP?
Question 2.  How do I install the drivers?

Would this work? And also, what is the VM I need?  Where do I get it?

  • How do I download and install Lightroom 5 on a new MacBook Pro, as I have replaced the original MacBook Pro that it was installed on when I purchased it 9 months ago?

I purchased - downloaded and installed Lightroom 5 on my old Macbook Pro in June, 2014.  I have since replaced that computer with a new Macbook Pro.  I uninstalled Lightroom from that computer.  I would like to download Lightroom 5 onto my new computer, but none of the codes I have are working.  How can I download it without having to re-purchase it?

  • I want to install Windows XP on my new Macbook Pro

I want to install Windows XP pro on my new macbook pro.  I followed bootcamp assistant until i got the driver disc saying I need windows 7.  oopppss i dont want windows 7.  Can I still use Windows xp?  I have only one professional software package that works perfectly using Boot Camp and XP. I don't use Windows otherwise.  I think is is the 32 versus 64 bit issue which i don't need.  Help please.

I assume I can save $100 by upgrading before Apple drivers.
Display mirroring is use by me to let my Client watch and change home design without breathing on my neck, lol.
My fear is upgrading and losing that option.  I have a 52" monitor they can watch on.  XP updated one day an used the 2nd monitor for some TV addon without permission.  They later fixed that problem but it cost me 20 lost days i don't want to repeat.  One of my iMac is running XP with the old drivers perfectly.  So apple Boot camp assistant has no work around to use my 7 bought copies of XP pro.
I guess i will try upgrade and cross my fingers.
    Thanks again!

  • Can i install snow leopard on my new macbook pro

I'm looking at a new laptop but I understand Adobe CS4 won't work on Lion, so I'd rather install Snow Leopard on the new macbook. Is this possible?

Difficult, and even reported "success" is likely not consistent enough for your *need* for Adobe CS4.
You can try for a unit off the refurbished list (Apple.com > Store, bottom of the left hand margin is the link).  Units from pre-July and last year can be found, and come with warranties just like brand new.
