  • Using KMS for Office 2010 on Windows Server 2012R2

    Hi,
We are migrating our old KMS server til 2012 R2. As far as I can find out KMS on 2012 R2 is only supported for Office 2013? Trying to install Microsoft Office 2010 Volume License Pack show "operating system not supported"
Somebody knows if Microsoft Office 2010 Volume License Pack will be supported on Windows 2012 R2?
    Regards
    Lars E

    hi Lars again,
on the volume licensing site, we have the following Details:
    Recent Changes to Volume Activation
With Volume Licensing for products such as Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2 for Embedded Systems, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Office 2010, and Office 2013, you must use Volume

  • Unable to do Bare Metal Restore on Windows Server 2008R2 Backup from USB Seagate Backup Plus Harddrive

I have done a windows full server backup on to an external Seagate HDD on a Dell PowerEdge T110 II Server running Windows Server 2008 R2
I want to clone this and do a Bare Metal Restore on an identical server at home which has Windows Server 2008 R2 on it.
I boot from the Windows DVD provided, select repair however windows Server 2008 R2 will not find the image of the Seagate drive. The Seagate drive can be seen on the server otherwise. I guess there are options to load the driver, but I don't see them.
Please help. Kind of stuck here
    Thanks

I am using a windows server 2008R2 disk to boot up. Both the servers have windows server 2008R2 on them. I have two licenses for each of the servers. I want to use the server at home as a backup server in case the server in office  goes down. I used
windows server backup to backup the server at work to a portable USB hard drive. I bought the hard drive home and want to clone the server at work. I heard bare metal restore is the best way to do this. So I booted the server at home with the windows server
2008 r2 disk that I have and clicked repair. I had attached my seagate portable drive to the usb port so that the server could find the image of the server at work, however the server cant find the hard drive or the server image. Is it a problem with my usb
hard drive? Do I need a specific type of usb hard drive to do server image backups?
If I let my server at home boot regularly and it comes up, it can see the image on the hard drive so I dont know how to do the bare metal restore. I know it can be done becuase my IT guy did it when he set up both the servers. I just want to periodically
clone them so make sure the server at home is updated with the settings of the server at work.
    Thanks for any help here

  • Cannot install Office 2010 on Windows Server 2008 terminal server

    Hello
I have a Windows 2008 terminal server which has Office 2007 Professional Plus on it. We want to upgrade it to Office 2010 Professional Plus.
Following steps from Technet, I made sure all users were out of the terminal server, then selected "Install Application on Terminal Server", then ran the setup.exe file for Office 2010.
The splash screen comes up for Office 2010 but then disappears and the install does not progress, although the setup.exe is still running in Task Manager. The "install Application on Terminal Server" window is still open, waiting for me to click
Next, Finish or Cancel and nothing else happens.
I also tried putting the server into install mode from command prompt and rebooting the server and re-attempting but no good.
How can I go about troubleshooting this issue?
    Many thanks
    Luke Dunster

    Hi Luke,
Are you  using a volume license version of Office 2010 for Remote Desktop Services/Terminal
Services? I may be wrong but I think that only this version of Office 2010 will work on a Terminal
Server. The Retail Version will just not work in this case.
I had similar problem where I tried to upgrade from Office 2007 to Office 2010 on a Terminal Server (Windows
    2008) but wasn't successful with the upgrade/installation.

  • Does ms office 2010 support in windows server 2008r2

    Hi
I required the information regarding that does ms office 2010 support in  windows server 2008r2 edition & if support then how can i down load the office service pack for the same.

Yes, you can install Office 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1). For the system requirements for Office 2010, please refer to this article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624351(v=office.14).aspx
Microsoft now no longer offers a download from their site, however, if you already have a product key of Office 2010, you can get Office 2010 installation package from this website:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/microsoft-office-2010-backup-FX101853122.aspx . If you don’t have a product key, I would suggest you to try the new Office – Office 2013, which also can be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2.
For more information about the new Office, please check on this site:

  • 'CRT not initialized' error after installing MS Office 2010

    Hi,
I encountered 'CRT not initialized error' after installing MS Office 2010. I think that with previous version of CVI there were no problems. But, with Labwindows/CVI 2012 error has outbroken. The details are as follows.
    - OS : windows 7 Enterprise (32bit)
    - Labwindows/CVI (v12.0.0 (422))
    - MS Office 2010 (word, powerpoint, excel)
    #1. clean install windows 7 (32 bit)
#2. install Labwindows/CVI v12.0.0 and device drivers (DAQ, Motion)
#3. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
#4. online update windows 7 (service pack, explorer 9, and etc)
#5. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
    #6. install MS Office 2010
#7. compile and run attached test program : 'CRT error'
    #8. uninstall MS Office 2010
#9. compile and run attached test program : SUCCESS
I think there are some conflicts between office 2010 and labwindows v12.0.0. How can I solve this problem?
    Thank you in advance.

More specifically, I decided that some parts of MS Office files and features of NI's motion library conflicts. Because in the attacted sample program, if I exclude NI-Motion functions then the program excutes nicely. But if I include NI-Motion fucntion, for example flex_select_signal, then the 'CRT not initialized' error occurs.
To solve this problem I tried step by step installation check for MS Office 2010. During each step I included more optional features in MS Office and after each installation I compiled and executed my sample program. At finally, I found that the addtional part of MS Office 2010, if I install Office Sharing Function>Microsoft IME(Korean), then the 'CRT not initialized' error occurs.
Temporarly, I solved the problem with NOT installing 'Office Sharing Function>Microsoft IME(Korean)' optional feature in the MS Office 2010.
Could you tell me why this problem occur?

  • Installing Microsoft Office 2010

Two questions:1.  I've tried to download several different programs from internet sources.  After the download process has been completed, a prompt on my computer "announces"  that "this program couldn't be downloaded".  Does anyone know why? 2.  I'm trying to install Microsoft Office 2010 on my HP Touchsmart computer without success.  Is there a procedure I can follow to install a program from a disc onto this computer?   Thank you.

That does not mean it will not install.  Depending on how the Windows autostart is setup, it might be OK.  With the Microsoft Office Disk in the drive, once it gets over the initial noise making, open "Computer" from the start button and then pick the drive where the disk is.  Double click on the drive.  It should either start or ask if you wish to start either setup.exe or install.exe

  • Should I have installed Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack 64 bit with Ex 2013 SP1?

I have installed Exchange 2013 SP1 on a 2012R2 server, and all went well (I am at early stages of migration).
Following the pre-reqs listed here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx#WS2012
I installed Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API 4.0, Core Runtime 64-bit only.
Since then I have seen other articles suggesting that I install:
Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack 64 bit
Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack SP1 64 bit
Given I didn't notice any errors in the install, do I need to install those filter packs or is that outdated advice?
    regards
    Roga

Thanks for taking the time to post Ed
I did a bit more research and it appears that there is more than one view on this.
    E.G. this blog
Why Exchange 2013 doesn’t need the Microsoft Office Filter Pack says:
"Exchange 2013 swaps MSSearch for the Search Foundation, a component shared with SharePoint 2013. The Search Foundation has no need of the Office Filter Pack because it includes its own filters. Unfortunately, until SP1 came along,
the Exchange 2013 Setup program overlooked this fact and stated that the Office Filter Pack was a prerequisite. Setup would install if the Office Filter Pack was missing, but who’s going to ignore a warning issued by Setup. In any case, that warning seems
    to have finally been suppressed."
    This blog
Planning and migrating a small organization from Exchange 2007 to 2013 (Part 10) has:
"After choosing the relevant setting needed to begin installation, the Exchange 2013 setup program will now perform readiness checks. Assuming these complete successfully, we'll expect to see just one warning.
This warning relates to the lack of the Office 2010 Filter Packs, which are not required for installation, and are only required to create Transport Rules for OneNote or Publisher files"
    And this one
Exchange Server 2013 FAQ: Is the Office Filter Pack Required?
"The Exchange 2013 pre-requisites page on
TechNet, at the time of this writing, does include the Office Filter Packs as a step in the preparation of a server for Exchange 2013. What it doesn’t make clear is that they are not required.
The new Exchange Search already has support for indexing/searching Office file types, as well as a series of other file types including some third party formats such as PDF. You can see a full list
    here.
So should you install the Office Filter Pack? If you want to stop seeing that warning message, then yes. If you want to take the approach of only installing required software on your servers, then no. Consider also that installing it means potentially having
to update it later on if there is a bug fix or a security issue."
The final para above is the approach that I have now taken, but if someone can give me a good reason to install office 2010 filter packs on Ex 2013 sp1 I'll revise my view
    regards
    roga

  • I am using MS Office 2010 and Windows XP Professional, can I use iCloud for backup of my files and documents?

I am using MS Office 2010 and Windows XP Professional, can I use iCloud for backup of my files and documents? I am planning to transition to a Mac so using the iCloud seems to make the most sence.

No, it is not a backup method at all.  If you delete a sync'd file on any device, you delete it permanently from iCloud.  That by its very essence is not a backup solution therefore.  A backup solution does not automatically and simultaneiously delete the file everywhere when it is deleted from the original source.
iCloud is strictly a syncronization tool for using files on multiple internet connected devices.
