  • Unable to install 1.5 SDK on Windows 2000

    Hello:
When I ran the install program for jdk 1.4.2, it came back with an error
message, "Java (tm) Update cannot retrieve version information from the
targeted directory" and when I acknowledged this error message, it came up
with another error message, "Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows

After dismissing this window, I see that the SDK was installed. However, I
don't see a Java icon in the control panel.
    Please advise.

If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.

have followed the link uninstalling in the correct order,
    then restarted as per instructions,
went to Apple to download itunes,
    hit download now,
Visit the iTunes download page. Click Download Now to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run).
did not get a save instead of run prompt
Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup (the installer you downloaded in step 3).
If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Choose "Run as administrator."

If iTunes fails to install or repair, it might be necessary to remove components left from a previous installation of iTunes and then reinstall.

  • Installing j2sdk1.4.1_02 on Windows 2000

I just downloaded and installed the sdk on a new Windows 2000 machine.
I can execute a program from the command line (java MyProgram) ok. However I can not compile one (javac MyProgram).
When I attempt to compile I get a pop up with the following three line message:
javac.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
In looking at the windows event logs I can find no reference to this problem. Does anybody know what other logs this problemn might have been written to?
restarting just ends up giving me the same pop up.
    reinstalling didn't help either.
I then installed Visual Cafe Version 3c and attemprted to run it. On launch of Visual Cafe the same pop up occurs.
Anybody have any ideas? Both ClassPath and Path look good.
I did download Netscape7 earlier. Is there a possible conflict here with its Java plug-in?

got javac to work redownloaded the SDK and then reinstalled it. There was a 2k difference in the javac.exe files between the two downloads so some how I corrupted the first one.

  • Installing Photoshop CS4 on new Windows 8 machine

When I try to run Setup.exe to install CS4 on my new Windows 8 machine, an error message comes up "The Installer Database is corrupt.  Please contact Adobe Customer Service."  I have already installed Lightroom 4, and it worked correctly.  What should I do?

if you've had a cs4 (trial or otherwise) previously installed, run the cleaner (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and restart your computer.
then install using compatibility mode and running as administrator.

    Hi,
I am new to Java IDM . I had downloaded IDM 7.0 and trying to install. But i am failing to install Java IDM in a Windows XP machine with SQL Server 2005.
    I used .,
    JDK 1.5
    Tomcat 6.0
    Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC driver
I got the following error while trying to connect the waveset database with Repository type as SQL Server 2005(JDBC Driver)
    com.waveset.util.ConfigurationError:
==> com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Login failed for user 'waveset'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
what name i can specify in JDBC ... is there any need to create DSN for that ...........
The Parameters that I have given for connection are:
    URL: jdbc:sqlserver :1433;DatabaseName=
    JDBC Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    Connect as User:

Do you have your SQL server set to Windows Authentication mode only?
You should change it to allow mixed authentication. You can do this in SQL Server Management Studio under Server Properties -> Security.

I hope you have a backup plan not only for your data but for that hardware when it decides to fail!
Any suggestions as to how we can assign a static IP to the old machine?
Use AirPort Utility to put the Express into "manual setup" mode. Select the Internet panel, then the DHCP tab. Add the Windows box to the "DHCP Reservations" at near the bottom. I'd use the MAC address feature. If you have trouble identifying that piece of information, you might find it in the "DHCP Clients" table under the menu item Base Station -> Logs and Statistics.

  • Unable to install MAX on Dell Latitude D600 notebook

I am trying to install NI-DAQ 6.9.2 on a Dell Latitude D600 notebook running Windows XP SP1. I have full local administrator privileges for this PC.
The notebook will be used to develop software for a test rig, but the rig will actually use a desktop PC fitted with a PCI-1200 card (so I cannot try NI-DAQ 7.1 as this does not support the PCI-1200 card).
Notebook specification is as follows :
    1.4GHz Pentium M CPU, 512Mb RAM, 3Gb free disk space, anti-virus disabled.
    Start NI-DAQ 6.9.2 setup.
    Selected the following features :
    NI-DAQ 6.9.2 Device Driver (default)
    NI-DAQ OPC Server (default)
    Microsoft Visual Basic Support
    NI-DAQ appeared to install OK.
    Re-booted without any DAQ device.
    NI-DA
Q documentation installation started and completed OK.
Configure Measurement and Automation System (MAX) started.
Always get error message "Unable to open a connection to the server..." (see attached file)
Unable to rename or delete the "config.mxs" file (as suggested in the error dialog) - Windows always reports "Access is denied", even immediately after re-booting.
Tried installing a PCMCIA DAQCard-700 then running MAX setup, got same error message. (Windows recognised the DAQCard-700 OK, listed in "device manager" as "working correctly").
Tried version 6.9.3 of NI-DAQ, but still unable to install MAX.
Please tell me how to get MAX to install under Windows XP SP1 !!
