Unable to install on Windows 7

I keep getting the message
"Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunesHelper. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2."
I have lost count of the times i have installed and uninstalled. I have tried unsuccessfully to download WinRAR and follow the advice given (can't remember who on the forum) and I have downloaded
"Microsoft visual C++ 2005 service pack 1 Redistributable package ATL Security Update" and followed all of the instructions given above. Afer all of that I still got the original error 2 message.
Can anyone help? I only bought my first ever ipod today and I'm really upset nad frustrated

"You must use Turn Windows Features On Or OFF in the control panel to install or configure microsoft.NET framework 3.5 SP1". I pressed the recommend button for the computer to change the settings which i presume it did. It carried on downloading and then a final box appeared stating "Error in set up" and press finish. Nothing more happened.
Good lord. That may indicate a problem with the existing .NET componentry installed on the PC. Since the .NET componentry forms part of your operating system, an sfc /scannow may help fix matters:
[How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833]
If the scannow indicates that it can't fix any files, could you let us know the relevant information from your sfcdetails.txt?
If the scannow does successfully fix any errors, are you able to subsequently install or repair .NET Framework 3.5 SP1?

  • Unable to install on windows

    Hi,
I am trying to install the client on windows XP but get the error message:
unable to install custom DSN client.
anyone an idea what the problem might be??
    thx.

    Steven,
Are you using TimesTen 6.0.4? There was an issue found on 6.0.4 where the Installshied DLL was misnamed. There are two options to get around this problem:
    1. Install the full product (instead of the client only). The TimesTen installation is lightweight and should not be much of an overhead to your XP machine;
    OR
    2. Download the TimesTen 6.0.3 version (this does not have the client DSN problem you encountered)
Please let us know if you are able to move forward with one of the two options.

  • Canon S100 software unable to install on Windows 8

I am unable to install the supplied S100 software CD on Windows 8 with the following message 'This software does not currently support your system setup' Is there any way of getting round this? I can download the individual programs from the Canon website but it doesn't open the Canon window when connecting the camera by USB to upoad the photos.

    Macrnegie,
If you download the latest update for ImageBrowser EX available on the website and run it with the original CD in your computer's CD-ROM drive, the update will search for the CD, then install the latest version of the software.  This new version is compatible with Windows 8.  ImageBrowser EX is the program you will need to use to import the images from your camera.

  • I recently purchased a Nokia Lumia 1020 and I am unable to instal the Windows phone App.

I keep getting this error message when I try to install the Windows App: Windows phone can't be installed on Mac HD becasue Mac OS X Version 10.7 or later is required. Under the About this Mac section it says it is: MAC OS X 10.6.8 but there there are no updates available. Any assisitance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

10.6.8 is Snow Leopard. 10.7.x is Lion. You need to upgrade, at least, to Lion (or the current release, Mountain Lion) in order to use the software.
You can purchase Lion (10.7.x) by calling Apple and getting a redemption code for the Mac App Store. If you want to upgrade to Mountain Lion, make sure that your MacBook Pro meets the minimum requirements -> http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5444 and, if so, you can purchase and download it directly from the Mac App Store.
    Good luck,

Please direct me as to how to install acrobat standard on mac computer. I had trial basis and now my computer is all fouled up and message received that must be installed on windows computer. How do I handle this dilemma.

If you have Acrobat Standard, it is Windows software. You cannot install Windows software on your Mac.
If it was purchased, get a refund.
If it was bundled, then you just can't use it.

I try to download iTunes versions 10 and higher and everytime it has the error message about Windows does not have the program needed to install, please contact your vendor. And I know I need the Windowns installer, but I cannot find it anywhere on the internet without getting a 404 error from where it's been removed. I really need a straight, direct answer. I have been having this issue since OCTOBER. I really want to have iTunes again and put music on my iTouch and iPhone.
I have Windows Vista, 64 bit.
Please, I've tried everything, and talked to everyone.

What's the precise text of the message please, alexis? There's a couple of different ones that I can think of on a 64-bit system that you might be getting.

  • Unable to install any Windows on X200s

Bought the notebook w/o op. system. After several attempts of installing a retail version of Win7 Ultimate continued with trying another versions (W7 and W8.1, both 32 and 64 bits) from different sources... Tried from optical drive (of DockingStation) and from own USB port/pendrive ISO. The same drive error:
    - in case of CD-install, after copying the boot packet to the internal HD (Fujitsu 160 GB), on the grafical installation screen appears the optical drive error, stopping the file copy process and claiming driver installation. NO DRIVERS ARE ACCEPTED;
    - in case of USB-install lets create the boot partition on HD as well, but the page of choosing of partition/formatting is inactive - the only active choice is the need of driver installation, in this case with "No HD drive found" error(!); a bit stupid after creating a boot partition on it. Trying manually all drivers (either marked as compatible with the chipset or not) from the installed boot sector (Windows/System32/Driver store) or externally downloaded drivers (quite a lot, a 3-day-sammling), NO ONE ACCEPTED:
The HDD firmware was upgraded (Lenovo site), the BIOS upgraded (Lenovo) and used with default settings. Befre and after the same result. PC-Doctor DOS, hardly found for my hardware, runs all tests with PASSED...
What to do? Only thing not proved yet: completely erasing/cleaning the HDD before install attempt (were enough a total formatting with PC-Doctor or done with a partitioning program? - if necessary). A question: can pass through all testings a faulty driver chipset? I doubt it.
    Could somebody help me, please?

    @rvdelhi
Although you would need to backup essential data first, it may be worth resetting device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by yourself).

  • Unable to install on Windows 7 machine

I am attempting to install Oracle Database 11g Express Edition Beta for a class I am taking. I've downloaded it twice and tried to install several times. Before it actually gets to the install process it hangs.
I am running Windows 7 so I downloaded the version for Windows x32
After I agree to the license and get to the "Choose Destination Location" I click "Next" and get stuck. Connection to the internet stops. ( I am on satellite internet) I go to Task Manager and "End Task" then get the message: Setup Launcher is not responding.
The computer has to be rebooted to get going again.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,
how long did you wait for the installer to "come back"? Could it be you have some inactive net shares mapped on your Windows? I remember other applications that tried to reconnect these shares but hang until the timeout was reached. This could last up to a minute... Of course, this shouldn't be happening, but you can't do much against that at application side as this is a Windows "feature". You can disable the reconnect feature, you could lower the timeout or (probably the best workaround if you can't use the remote services anyway) you could "unmap" the net shares.
If that's not the reason in your case, can you think of any other network related service that might be blocking your system?

  • Unable to install Windows 8 in Boot Camp because of MBR

I just this weekend reformatted my MacBook Pro (Mid 2010, 15", 2.4 gHz i5) and so I had to reinstall Windows 8 with Boot Camp. I had it working fine before, although the lack of drivers made it absolutely terrible (Has Apple released any drivers for it yet?) but the installation went without a hitch.  When I tried to install Windows 8 this time though, it did not work at all. On the OS X side, everything went as expected, and when I went to Windows installation everything worked until I had to select a partition.  I feel like at this point I should point out that I have removed the optical drive from my Mac and have the Optibay in my optical drive bay and have a 128 GB SSD as my main drive and a 512 GB SSD in the optical drive slot, which was where my Bootcamp partition was, around 250 GB.  I was installing Windows 8 using an external enclosure for my Superdrive with the Retail Windows 8 DVD full version.  Anyways, when I went to select the partition, it said that it was unable to install because
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed GPT disks."
I have heard many conflicting resolutions to the problem, I have heard that I need to remove the other drive and install the optical drive and I have heard that this works very well, and many other things, I just want to find the correct solution to this. Thank you! And I hope I provided you with enough information!

I have a cd drive with a bootable windows 7 disc and I already downloaded the drivers needed to a pendrive on MS-DOS Format.
However this devil things asks me for a windows 8 disc.
Many many thanks if someone knows how to do it.

    Hi,
I am unable to install the Windows Search Service on a Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server. I want to install this to enable indexing options within Outlook 2013 for all users.
Server Manager > Add Roles > File Services > Select only Windows Search Service > Install.
The error I receive: "Attempt to configure Windows Search Service failed with error code 0x80070057. The parameter is incorrect."
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I did the test and could install the Windows Search Service without problem.
Which role did you installed on the terminal server?
Did you try to install it on another windows server?
