I'm unable to install photoshop CS6 from download. I've downloaded to required two files (Photoshop_13_LS16.7z and Photoship_13_LS16) and double clicked on the second file. This appeared to extract a number of files and folders to a newly created C:/users/lester/desktop/adobe CS6/Photoshop/ folder. I found a file called "Set-up.exe" inside the .../Adobe CS6/ folder and double clicked it. When I double click, a status bar says "initializing installer" for a few seconds, I get the following error message:

Adobe installer is already running. Please close other Adobe installers and select retry option to continue with this installation.

Nothing else is running in Windows. The adobe support advisor link is useless because the page says support advisor was discontinued. The "how to download" PDF on the download page was useless (for CD disk downloads only). Any ideas?

Win7 64 PC with 8G of memory and quad core CPU and workstation 10bit color graphics card.Thanks Jeff - I decided to do a complete reinstall of Windows because of this issue and others with unwanted popups I accidentally downloaded. Hopefully things will go smoother the third time around, just as they did a few days ago when I did install PS CS6 without any problems.

To install Photoshop CS6, I have already downloaded the 2 files for Windows. How can I activate the product?
I am having the same problem. I did download the two files and started the .exe file. The .exe file appears to run downloading files. When the bar is full the window dissapears without any options. Both files are in the same folder. any thoughts?

Installed Photoshop CS6 3 times from Perpetual License download - error messages keep coming

I bought Photoshop CS6 as an upgrade to CS3 and CS5 which I had previously bought on Disk. This new version came as a Download from Adobe but I have continuing problems with this download.
On first installation I ran the updater from inside Photoshop and got error message:
Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I ran the Adobe Application Manager for updates and it said I was O.K. but again from within Photoshop the updater gave the error message.
The Adobe Community suggested a re-install. I uninstalled the programme, ran the clean-up creative software tool and did another download and re-installed.
Now I have another error message:
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.2
Done with Errors. Error Code: U44M1P6
Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I ran the Adobe Application Manager again today and it treated me as a Creative Cloud customer and said my trial had ended! - I don't subscribe to Creative Cloud, I am on a perpetual license. I have never (knowingly) done a modified install (wouldn't know how to!)
So now I have uninstalled Photoshop CS6 yet again. I have seen on one forum to download from the TRY button instead of the bought button. But I can't find the TRY button now - in fact all I can find on the HELP pages is the Creative Cloud version.
Time is running out - I can see I will be asking for my money back on this one!
Any help out there please?

I downloaded Photoshop CS6 from the internet today onto my MacBook Pro and it is now on my desktop but when I double click on the icon, it only gives me a blank page and no options to complete the installation or to put in my serial number. Please help!

Instal Photoshop CS6 after Photoshop CC
As sometimes I have to travel to places with a bad internet connection , it would
be usefull to me to have Photoshop CS6 . Can I install it when I already have Photoshop CC ?yes, there's no problem installing (and using) both at the same time on the same computer.
p.s. you don't need to have a persistent Internet connection to use cc products either. -
Problem re-installing photoshop 8 after changing from Win XP to 8.
I change from Windows XP to Windows 8. I was able to reinstall Elements 8 but some of the functions I used are blocked. Example resize I can not change constrain proportions. Also I need more information about newer versions.
Do you have Resample Image checked?

This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had installing software. I enrolled in a photoshop CS6 class. I used the link from the bookstore to purchase Photoshop CS6. I was unable to install it. I asked for help they installed the program but adobe bridge was in chinese. I tried to change the language but failed. I asked for help. In trying to install a Flash update on my Mac (version 10.7.5), I'm getting an "unable to install metafile" message after initialization starts (at the 25% point)—regardless of the site from which I download the installation folder.
Hello everybody, good news: after upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 I've been able to run the installer and all went fine.
Mountain Lion allows user to force execution through the context-menu (CTRL-click) Open command and it does work, just that simple.
So my advice is: if you want to install or re-install Flash Builder 4.6 on a Mac with Lion installed, upgrade to Mountain Lion or better to avoid problems.
Apple introduced some (not all) Gatekeeper functionalities in 10.7.3 and following, but apparently you need a full-fledged 10.8 to have also what you need to circumvent a Revoked Certificate error.
Since usually OS X has auto updating active, if you are running Lion you end up with 10.7.5 and won't install FB46. If you manage somehow to hold 10.7.2 I suppose you should be able to install FB46, sincerely I didn't check it out. Anyway it's simpler and safer to move on to 10.8.x.
