Unable to install PlayCenter/Alternative CMSS Meth

I've tried nearly everything. I have an SB Li've! 5. LS. Running on a clean install. When I try installing Playcenter from my flawless, scratchless CD I get two read errors. The rest of the install goes flawless. I've installed it before from this same disk. They say something like:
<disk>Disk
(Something about the allocation of something or an invalid directory or not existing)
then goes on to finish the install like nothing happened.
Someone told me to try remote center, it loads up, then vanishes. If I try to reopen it, it says I need to connect a remote..tool, and exits.
I try installing the patches, or downloading the SB Li've! Playcenter update, says it can't detect an SB soundcard installed and exits. AutoUpdate says I have a Soundblaster Li've! 5., DR .40. and it doesn't need updates. But, the Playcenter . to 3.0 update says I need the latest SB Li've DriverPack to install it.
The taunting part is every time I restart Creative Product Registration detects an SB Li've! 5. that isn't registered!
Head..pounding..help..needed.

Ebontide,
I don't think it is included with this install, but if you can find the file "ctpanel.exe" in your c:\program files\Creative then you might be able to. This program allows you to control the settings of the card from one place. The file is usually in c:\program files\creative\sb li've\programs\common\wdm\ctpanel.exe but a search will find it just as quickly.

  • Unable to install adobe flashplayer on mac 10.9.2

Hi I recently upgraded to 10.9.2 and I am unable to install Adobe Flashplayer on Safari.  I've done an uninstall and downloaded and tried to reinstall but it hangs a little more than halfway.  All I get is an error message saying there's an error - no specifics.
Any help here please?  Thanks in advance!

Are you trying to install this: Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77?
I would suggest doing the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Try installing Flash again.

  • Unable to install Vista OR XP (SP2)

    Any help is appreciated here.
I've been running this Imac for months with dual boot via boot camp and have had no issues. Suddenly, last week, Vista will not boot. Missing file boot/bcd error
Due to my frustration, I figured I'd wipe Vista and reinstall (I use windows for gaming only).
I deleted that partition, created a new one and since have been unable to install Vista OR XP (which I tried as an alternative). I can create a 90 GB partition and Vista begins to install but it sees ONLY my Macintosh HD as a whole and can't see the partition. XP on the other hand can see the partition and installs but very slowly. The installed result is too slow for web browsing in fact.
This tells me that something is going on with the boot sector possibly in the files under bootcamp that allow you do choose the OS at startup.
So I then booted to my OSX install disk and did an install and archive thinking I would get a fresh copy of OSX and clean out any offending files. This proved to be the same result.
Does anyone have any ideas that may help? I would prefer not to wipe the HDD and begin from scratch as that means recreating profiles and importing photos, music and bookmarks for 4 users in the family on Leopard.
    Thoughts?

I was able to recreate all the issues using both XP and Vista install discs this evening for tech support.
Next steps after several this evening will be the following:
    1. Run the OSX Utilities from the OSX Install disc
    2. reformat the entire hard drive (low level format)
    3. Clean install of OSX
    4. Run all updates
    5. Install Vista with Boot camp
If that all works, I'll restore the MacHD from time machine.
If anyone has any other suggestions as well, I'd welcome them!

  • HT4929 I am unable to install OS XLion and get a message that it can't be installed on Disk Mackintosh HD because a recovery system can't be created. I am then referred to apple support but am unable to find anything which can help. Can someone help pleas

Unable to install OS X Lion as "...it can't be installed on Disk Mackintosh HD because recovery system can't be created. Visit www.apple......"
Visiting the web pages does not help me can someone please point me in the right direction ?

OK. You have a Boot Camp partition which is why the issue. See the following:
It seems the issue is that the space at the "bottom" of your available space when Lion installs it's partition is already occupied by BootCamp. The fix was to go into Disk Utility; Select your Hard Drive; Select Partition; Move the bottom of your main partition "up" a bit to create a space for Lion; close Disk Utility; Install Lion; once Lion is successfully installed, go back into Disk Partition and drag the bottom of your main partition back "down" to the bottom of the window.
In your case use Disk Utility to "shrink" your OS X partition a little more than 1 GB.
To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired empty space. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
Remember that you only need to shrink the OS X partition a little more than 1 GB. Now, when you try the Mountain Lion installation the installer will be able to make the Recovery HD.

    Hi sandeep2911
Because you are using an unlocked BlackBerry, the device software is limited to what the original provider has released.  Let me know who your original provider is and I can see what the latest version of software available is.
Alternatively, you can plug in your BlackBerry to your PC and go to www.blackberry.com/update to install the latest software available.

  • Unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005 on Satellite A205-s5831

    Hello everyone.
I Needs some helps from all of you.
I have Toshiba Laptop Satellite A205-S5831.
Its Have Windows Vista Home Premium.
And I am unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005.
I also Unable to Install Windows XP SP2.
    Problem is SATA driver.
    Plz Help me ...!
    Response me

    Hi
The Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install it on the notebook with SATA HDD controller.
The SATA driver can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.
I would recommend using the nLite program to include a SATA driver into the new Windows XP CD and then to boot from the new created XP CD.
Here you will find all details regarding the nLite:
    http://www.nliteos.com/
    Regarding SQL server issue;
Maybe you will be able to install in on Windows XP. Possibly there is a compatibility issue between the Vista and the SQL server software

  • Unable to install SQL Server 2014 Express LocalDb on Windows 8.1 Update 1

Apologies if this is not the right place or this has been posted before (I looked and didn't find anything)
I am unable to install SQL Server 2014 Express LocalDb on Windows 8.1 Update 1, as I get an 'Operating System not Supported' error message right away.
What can I do to get this working?

    Hi Zgreve,
    Usually, from
hardware and software requirements for installing SQL Server 2014, we can install SQL Server Express version on the Windows 8.1. For more information, see:
    Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express.
Before you install SQL Server 2014 Express version, you should ensure installing the .NET Framework 4, then run as administrator for the SQL Server setup.exe again.
There is a similar detail about install SQL Server Express LocalDB via GUI and command line. You can also review the following steps.
    http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2694/getting-started-with-sql-server-2012-express-localdb/
If the same error about OS still exists,  I recommend you submitting a feedback to Microsoft such issues at
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback, Your feedback enables Microsoft to offer the best software and deliver superior services, meanwhile you can learn more about and contribute to the

Please help As i am running out of time as i have to upgrade TFS for that first step is to install SQL server.

    Hello,
The following are a few things you can try:
Copy the media to the local disk drive, unzip it (in case you are installing from an ISO file, and run SQL Server setup from there.
Try to unregister and register the Windows Installer with the following two commands:
    msiexec /unregister
    msiexec /regserver
Try to use Process Monitor to log the detailed error produced when the installation of dw20sharedamd64.msi fails. You can download Process Monitor from the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645
Share with us the error captured by Process Monitor.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to install SQL Server 2012 along with BIDS & VS 2012 on Windows 7

Unable to install SQL Server 2012 along with BIDS & VS 2012 on Windows 7 professional.
    I get the below error
    Could not find vsjitdebugger.exe
Blogs say anti-virus is stopping but I dont have one on the system.
Note: I had used SQL 2008 on the system previously and has a refresh i have deleted all the software to speed up the system.
Now i could not install both the software.
Can I get some help regarding this?

    Hi Nandu,
As your description, you come across an error(vsjitdebugger.exe cannot be found). Please confirm if the error occurs during the installation of SQL Server 2012.  If so, please help post SQL Server setup logs. By default, SQL Server setup log file locates
    in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Base on my research, this error could be caused by that the previous uninstallation is improper and vsjitdebugger.exe file could be mistakenly deleted.
To troubleshoot the issue, you could start your computer into Safe Mode and fix your problem with one of the following methods. For more information, please refer to the article:
    http://www.fixerrorkit.com/fix-error/fix-vsjitdebugger.exe-error.html.
    1. You could execute the sfc /scannow command following steps below.
    a. Press "Windows+R", type in cmd and then right click "Run as administrator"
    b. Type in sfc /scannow (There's a space between sfc and /scannow) into the dialog and hit Enter key and click ok.
    c. Wait until the System File Checker finishes the check.
    2. You could use a Windows repair installation, also known as a Startup Repair to repair your Windows system files.
    3. You could install the latest Windows updates to fix vsjitdebugger.exe error. Microsoft often releases new service packs and system patches to replace or update some DLL files of Windows system.
    4. You could use third-party tool such as Automatic Error Fix Tool to fix your vsjitdebugger.exe error. However, Microsoft cannot make any representations regarding the quality, safety, or suitability of any third-party software or information found there.
In addition, if you are unable to install  Visual Studio, I suggest you post your question in Visual Studio Setup and Installation forum at
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=vssetup  . It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
