Raw Update 5.7 for cs4 will not install. Will stop in the middle of install and ask to close Bridge when it is not open. OS vista. Thanks to anyone that can help.

You probably have Bridge open in the background, open the Task Manager, switch to the Processes tab and close Bridge.exe

Unable to install Bootcamp update 2.1 for XP (and thus, XP SP3)

Right, I've been using XP through bootcamp without any problems for over 18 months now- until I tried to install SP3. I figured out pretty quickly that I needed update 2.1, but now I can't install this. I keep getting a message that tells me that the file I'm trying to update is not present (I will switch to XP in a minute so I can get the exact wording of the warning).
Now, rather unhelpfully, I am not even told the name of whatever file SHOULD be present. If I knew that, I'm sure I could locate it (or download it). As to how this file could be present, I'm not sure. I have started using maintenance software like Advanced Windows Care and Disk Keeper to clean up my system, boost performance, defragment, etc. I suppose it's possible (unlikely, I would think though) that in doing so I may have inadvertently deleted something. My XP has been performing very well since I started using these programs though.
Anyway- I'll check the error message and post it up here. I've scanned through previous threads, but not seen anyone report this same issue.

Okay, here's what it says:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, ot the updgrade pathc may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct update patch".
I don't even know what program I'm supposed to have.
Ideas, anyone?

Workaround:
Download the RSAT package intended for Windows 8 Release Preview: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28972
Extract the .msu file with a tool such as 7-Zip.
Open an Admin command prompt and change directory to where you extracted the .msu.
Run the following command to install (if x86 you probably have a different .xml filename): pkgmgr /n:Windows6.2-KB2693643-x64.xml
Wait a while. You can look in task manager for pkgmgr. When it disappears, the installation is done.
Use the tools as per usual.

Unable to install the updated version of iTunes

Hi All.
I am unable to install the updated version i.e. 10.7 iTunes. I have downloaded it and while installing process it moves until the last and rolls it back.
I have uninstalled itunes and tried again. Could not downloaded. Sowhow I have donloaded the version 10.1 which is no more compatible for my iPhone 4S with iOs 6.
I have read through many threads on the same topic but did not help. Please help here with any suitable idea.

you will have the most up to date itunes available for your os 10.6.8. to get a newer version you will have to upgrade to a newer os.

Unable in install all updates and Office pro 2007

I am unable in install all updates and Office pro 2007 (KB2553089,2553090,2584063,2553074,2559530). I am no very techincal but I do know some. I also tried to repair Office and INstall the cd and It would not take it. This all occured about
1 or 2 months ago and i have been living with it but it seems to be causing other problems. My operating sustem is XP. Please Help..

I ignored this for sometime but today I lost my patience and decided to fix this nagging problem. The update prevented me from using the shutdown option as then it would download the updates and then fail over and over again.
None of the steps helped however they set me on a path. I uninstalled all unwanted programs but that was not what fixed the issue. I noticed other than Office 2007 I also had installed Word viewer 2007 , Excel viewer, Powerpoint viewer. I uninstalled these
voila!! Windows update said I don't need these updates on which the install was failing, I checked for updates again and the above updates never appeared in the list of updates found.
I thought I will put this out there just incase someone else runs into similar situation as me. Good Luck.

When attempting to install downloaded update 5.6 for Lightroom I am having a Windows Installer error message: Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid. I completely reinstalled the program and still got the same error when attempting to update. Creative Cloud lists the Lightroom 5.3 as "Up to Date". Please advise.
