Unable to Install USB551L Modem
Hello,
I have been trying to install the USB551L modem quite literally all day.
I am running Windows XP on a laptop
I have the most up-to-date version of VZAccess installed
I have tried reinstalling the device software multiple times
I have restarted my machine multiple times
This device functions properly on my laptop running Windows 7
I follow all of the proper instructions via VZAccess. When I run the program, I let it search for the card and not find it, and then I plug it in and let it look again. It does not find the card.
I have read that Windows Installer can hijack the installation of the drivers, so it is good to close out of all of the automated Windows installations before running the scan to detect the card. I have tried this, it does not work.
Since there are no stand-alone drivers I can find, my usual solution to driver problems isn't going to work. That is, download the stand-alone and point Windows Installer in the right direction.
No matter what I do, VZAccess will not see the card. I realize this is probably a Windows XP problem and not anything to do most likely with the card or the software.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think I specified in my post that I had installed and successfully used
the device on another laptop. I hate that I have to explain this again...
The computer is the problem, I already know that. The software suite will
not recognize that the device is present when I insert it. Therefor, I
cannot install drivers.
This is a windows xp laptop that is having the problem. If I could bypass
the software suite provided by Verizon and obtain stand alone driver
software, I could solve this problem by using Windows installer.

I would like to use internet USB modem, when i plug in it is not reading and unable to install. but the same i can use very well in windows computer. Need help on installing the modem.
You will have to contact and discuss your issue with the technical support unit of your provider. Bimmer 7 Seriers makes an excellent point. I too had to revert to Lion from Mt. Lion due to technical problems with a USB modem. In my case, the modem cannot run in a 64-Bit environment. I suspect that is your problem.
I think that the solution lies with your provider or a different one. There is nothing more I can do to assist you.

Want a Help page on installing Fax Modem and how to use it.
I have bought the Apple USB fax Modem.
But I have been unable to find instructions on:
1) installing the modem,
2) setting up the modem
3) configuration of software that drives the modem, cover sheets etc.
4) If I need to deactivate my Airport before using it
5) How to connect my cell by Bluetooth or tether to send/receive Faxes
Now I know that you use the print to PDF Fax,
But I have sent several faxes and never found a prompt that says they made it or failed.
Does anyone know where I can find this info??

Plug it in

If you want to use it for connecting to dial-up you would do this in Network Preferences, where you would enter the number, username and password, but I guess this isn't what you want to do as you have Airport.
3) configuration of software that drives the modem, cover sheets etc.
To send a fax, choose 'Fax PDF' from the Print dialog. You set up the telephone number and whether you want a cover sheet there.
4) If I need to deactivate my Airport before using it

I'll have to pass on that, I don't have a clever mobile phone. You might like to post it again as a separate question.
But I have sent several faxes and never found a prompt that says they made it or failed.
You don't get any progress report faxing this way.
If you are going to do a lot of faxing you might like to look at PageSender which offers many more features. -

Ashis,I have recently updated my Nokia C7 with a new version of Market and now I can no longer update any programs. I can click on markets, which gives a black screen. Nothing happens, regardless of how long time I seem to wait. Pressing the middle buttom, can get me back to idle, checking the open applications (longpress middle key) reveals that "nokiastoreclient" is running.
I want to remove this faulty version or update again. How can I do this? (using the link above, just start the "nokiastoreclient", then nothing. -

I just wanted to update in case anyone in the future has a similiar experience. Too bad this advice was not offered by the "experts" here.

Unable to install SQL Server CE Server Tool on SQL Server 2000 SP 4
Hi
I am facing problem with installing SQL Server CE Server Tool,
I have installed SQL Server 2000 SP 4 which is working fine.
While i am running Setup of "SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition version 2.0" ,Developer tools installed successfully but incase of SQL Server CE Server Tool i am getting following Error
"SQL Server CE Tool is compatible only with SQL Server 2000 Service pack 1 and higher.
When you install SQL Server CE Server Tools on a computer running both IIS and SQL Server 2000 , ensure the installer for SQL Server CE Server Tools corresponds To the version of SQL Server 2000."
I am sure that i have running SQL Server 2000 SP 4 (MSDE also SP 4) , IIS (Version 5.1) is also working fine , and one more thing i am trying to install SQL Server CE Server Tool setup is "sqlce20sql2ksp4.exe" (Which i downloaded from microsoft site.).Here all the requirement is fulfill but i dont know what is going to wrong.
I wasted my 2 days behind solving this issue , now i am tiered ,So please any one have solution for this issue.

I also Unable to Install Windows XP SP2.

The Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install it on the notebook with SATA HDD controller.
The SATA driver can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.
I would recommend using the nLite program to include a SATA driver into the new Windows XP CD and then to boot from the new created XP CD.

Regarding SQL server issue;
Maybe you will be able to install in on Windows XP. Possibly there is a compatibility issue between the Vista and the SQL server software -

Unable to install Sql Server 2008 R2 express on windows 2003
Hi,
I am unable to install sql server express edition with management tools, on windows server 2003. During rules check, it gives an error that minimum os version is not supported.
.net framework requirements have been met.
Is there something that I am missing ? Any pointers would be of immense help

Whats is Service Pack edition of Windows 2003 server.As per prerequisites it requires SP2 for windows Server 2003 I guess your server is not updated to latest SP.Please refer below link for hardware and software requirement

I am unable to install sql server 2008 r2 standard edition on windows server 2008 r2 sp1.
On the Setup Support Files page, choose Install this step I don't get any other window i.e. nothing happens I waited for 5-10 min. Then I checked the log file.

The following are a few things you can try:
Copy the media to the local disk drive, unzip it (in case you are installing from an ISO file, and run SQL Server setup from there.
Try to unregister and register the Windows Installer with the following two commands:
msiexec /unregister
msiexec /regserver
Try to use Process Monitor to log the detailed error produced when the installation of dw20sharedamd64.msi fails. You can download Process Monitor from the following link:

Unable to install SQL Server 2012 along with BIDS & VS 2012 on Windows 7 professional.

Could not find vsjitdebugger.exe
Blogs say anti-virus is stopping but I dont have one on the system.
Note: I had used SQL 2008 on the system previously and has a refresh i have deleted all the software to speed up the system.
Now i could not install both the software.

As your description, you come across an error(vsjitdebugger.exe cannot be found). Please confirm if the error occurs during the installation of SQL Server 2012. If so, please help post SQL Server setup logs. By default, SQL Server setup log file locates
in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Base on my research, this error could be caused by that the previous uninstallation is improper and vsjitdebugger.exe file could be mistakenly deleted.
To troubleshoot the issue, you could start your computer into Safe Mode and fix your problem with one of the following methods. For more information, please refer to the article:

1. You could execute the sfc /scannow command following steps below.
a. Press "Windows+R", type in cmd and then right click "Run as administrator"

c. Wait until the System File Checker finishes the check.
2. You could use a Windows repair installation, also known as a Startup Repair to repair your Windows system files.

Unable to install Creative Cloud
Hello,
I have an extra seat who needs to use Creative Cloud for his job. He cannot install the Creative Cloud application and when trying to do so afresh, he constantly gets the error "Unable to install Creative Cloud Please close all active Adobe applications and retry your installation" message via the dmg image installer file. There are no other or active Adobe application on his iMac and no Adobe application running anywhere on the machine.
iMac OS X 10.8.5, 2.9GHz.
The problem reoccurs even after navigating to the Applications/Utilities folder and putting the folders Adobe Application Manager folder and Creative Cloud to the Trash and emptying it. Then navigating to the Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder and renaming it to OOBE.old, then again downloading Creative Cloud desktop from the URL https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and trying again to install it.
Despite all of this, the same "Unable to install Creative Cloud Please close all active Adobe applications and retry your installation" message prompt comes up and the installation of the Creative Cloud application is abandoned.
This is a very frustrating experience. What is the workaround to get this appliaction installed so he can get on with his work as soon as possible?
PaulSorry for taking so long but I was unable to access my pc. Now that I've got it here is the screenshot of the error. It's in italian:
It says something like:
"There has been the following errors: a possible problem with Creative Cloud desktop. Download a new copy of Creative Cloud desktop and install it again".
As I said before even downloading it again I get the same file and the same error.
