Unable to install windows 7 home premium updates error code 643 (KB 954430, KB973688 & KB2538243) - Please help me!!
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Lenovo ThinkPad E530. This laptop is only brands new.
KB954430, KB973688 & KB2538243 - These three updates keep giving me problems. In Windows Update, under "view update history" these keep showing up as failed. I also get the error, "Code 643".
At the end of the installation it tells me three updates are failed to be installed and when I shut down to try to update, Windows always configures up to ~15%, then fails, and reverts changes, then prompts me to install updates the next time I turn my computer on. Each time, I have to re-install every update that I had installed prior to shutting down.
I went through Trouble shooter - "Fix it" numerous times, Repaired Net framework profile and also followed few instructions I found from the net such as running "Reset Register Windows update Components" but nothing works so far.
I even tried manually installing KB954430 but it told me "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. 7B30B69B-OE6C-B7EO-A06B-D6B9ABF34537 HR RESULT: 0 x 80070BC9" and the installation bar seems to stop at "Publishing Product information", then rolls back the installation.

How do I re install windows home premium OA?
I had windows home premium OA on my computer , but I believe it was accidentally uninstalled from my hard drive. I have the product key that is on my computer. I was having trouble finding the correct link to reinstall it on my lap top.

It is possible you have a hidden recovery partition on your hard drive which may be used instead of a recovery disk to restore your system (and Windows) to factory defaults.
Recovery procedures vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
You should also search for any recovery disk/s that were supplied with your pc. Manufacturers invariably charge a significant fee to supply replacements.
If you decide to use borrowed/downloaded media to reinstall Windows on an OEM pc, the process may not be straightforward. Without some experience and patience you may end up with no other option than to pay a professional to finish the job.
Microsoft does not publicly provide download links for Windows. While you may stumble upon an official download source, beware that many unofficial sources will come pre-loaded with viruses, trojans etc. -

I have brand new Acer Aspire Laptop installed with windows 8
From 1 Feb 2014 , I am trying to install Windows 8.1 update from windows store. I tried to install update more than 15 times but still stuck with this error code 0x80004005.
1. I simply tried to install couple of times
2. I disabled all protection softwares stuck with same
3. I disable all stratup programs but same
4. I installed fresh windows again updated with all updates from Microsoft and then tried to install Windows 8.1 update from windows store but same error

Regarding current situation, please follow these steps to check the issue:
1. Please run WSRESET.EXE to clear store catch.
2. If there is any proxy settings in IE and Metro app, please remove it.
3. Make sure the Windows Firewall is turned on and remove other security applications.
4. If you use wireless connection, please change to wired network connection.
5. Register following dll files by typing following command in Run (Windows key + R):
regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
Then, let’s try to install Windows 8.1 again.
If the issue still persists, upload the latest setuperr.log for research.

T430s - Unable to install Windows 8.1 update / Requires Rapidboot to be uninstalled
Hi folks, I'm trying to install the Windows 8.1 update on my Windows 8 Pro but I'm in front of an issue. After doing the check to perform the update, it does ask me to uninstall RapidBoot in order to perform the update. I've checked in my programs to uninstall it but I can't find it, updated my chipset drivers, Intel Rapid Storage Technology software, etc and problem still happening. I've even check my services but I didn't find anything related to Lenovo Rapidboot. Any clue on how solve this issue? Does anyone had the same problem? Please advise. Regards, poy

I'm unable to install MS Service Pack 1 in Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, failing with error code: 0x80070643/0x800F0829.
1. Remove Symantec Endpoint Protection.
2. Run System Update Readiness Tool
3. Install MS SP 1 and fails.

I am trying to install sql server 2012 standard edition on windows server 2008R2 but at the end of the installation it is giving me the following error message:

And in the log file I got the following error message:

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
