Unable to install zfd7 on fresh server
Hello all,
I have a freshly new installed server in an existing tree. Zenworks desktopmanagement (7 with sp1 rel2) won't install correct.
Pre-install steps completed successfully

Error: There was an error installing ZENworks Desktop Management on FS_EDUPOTSKAMP. Error: An error occured during file copy or configuration. See above for more details and be sure that no ZENworks Desktop Management files are open or locked.
Logfiles are attached as .zipfile .
Seems there is a problem mapping the destination drive?
My workstation has a root- and searchmapping (Z:\) to the public-dir on that server.
Server environment:
Novell Netware 6.5 sp8
eDir 8.8 sp4
space available on sys: 15GB
poolsize sysvolume: 20GB
space available on installationvolume: 25GB
Poolsize installationvolume: 110GB
I tried several installations with other options, mappings, (admin)accounts, etc. etc.
I'm out of idea's and close to open a servicerequest....
Thanks for helping,
Jurgen.
It shouldn't be that easy... but it is...... :s
I have been troubleshooting for days and biting my head off on this problem.
It was indeed a corrupt download. (I can't imagine I missed that part...)
Thanks for the hint!
I'll have an extra pint tonight.
Cheers,
Jurgen.

Unable to install Data Integrator Job Server
When attempting to install Business Objects XI (R2) Data Integrator I am unable to check the 'Job Server' component to be installed. I have tried all the different licenses and options we have available but am unable to get around this.
Has anyone else experienced this before? Is there another forum that I should be looking for this type of thing?
Thanks,
BenI was able to resolve this by using the following steps. Hope this helps anyone out there in the same boat...
PRE-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Data Integrator products are available for download from the ESD site at http://businessobjects.subscribenet.com. The License Authorization Code above gives you access to product license file generation. While your Data Integrator software order is being processed, you can prepare for installation by using the Authorization Code as follows:
1) Determine an installation plan.
The plan should include which Data Integrator components will be installed on what computers. Only the Job Server licenses will require a hostid in order to generate the license files. Administrator, Designer, and Interfaces for Designer such as SAP R/3 ABAP, JD Edwards, or PeopleSoft do not require hostids in v6.5 and higher.
2) Download your license files:
a) Go to http://webkey.businessobjects.com on the Internet.
b) Copy the Authorization Code and paste it into the License Authorization text box.
c) Click the 'SUBMIT' button.
The License Fulfillment page lists products in your order for which you can generate license file(s). This page allows you to generate license files one at a time, at your convenience. Only the Job Server licenses will require a hostid for versions 6.5 and higher.
Note: if the computer has more than one network card, include all hostids separated by a space to create a nodelocked license file. To determine the hostid on Windows machines, run autorun.exe from the CD or the Data Integrator directory. When autorun.exe brings up the splash screen select the "GET HOSTID" button.
To determine the hostid on HP machines, run \unix\hpux1100\lmhostid from the mounted CD or the Data Integrator directory. Or use the lmhostid -long command for HP-Itanium.
To determine the hostid on SUN machines, run \unix\sunos\lmhostid from the mounted CD or the Data Integrator directory.
To determine the hostid on AIX machines, run \unix\aix430\lmhostid from the mounted CD or the Data Integrator directory.
Note: For Windows installations, select the "Ethernet" hostid type.
For UNIX installations, select "Long" hostid type.
d) Save each license file in with a *.lic extension in the planned location. For the Data Integrator installation program to complete successfully, you are required to point to the location of the license file(s) associated with the component(s) you are installing. -
Unable to install illustrator on windows server 2008
I keep getting error messages when trying to install the free trial of Illustrator with windows server 2008 platform. Is this not an approved OS?
You can't use AI in a server environment. That would violate the EULA. Single user only.
Not true. Local installs and usage do not in any way collide with the EULA even on a server OS. He said nothing about provisioning or setting it up for remote users.

You're trying to install the 64-bit novell-kanaka-engine-2.8.0-8 package that you've copied to /tmp but where did you copy it from? The Kanaka CD contains two versions (for want of a better word) of that package in /sles10 and /sles11 directories but they're actually different files - for OES2 you need the one from /sles10.

Please also note that OES2 SP3 is now supported on SLES10 SP4 and is the preferred version of SLES10 for OES2 SP3. Since SLES10 SP3 is no longer supported you should therefore look to upgrade your server. See TID 7008364[1] for more information.

Not able to install IIS on Windows Server 2012
I am unable to install IIS on Windows Server 2012. I get the error as shown in the below screenshot. Error code is 0x800f0922. I did RestoreHealth but that has not helped. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi Yogesh,
Just last week was installing IIS on W12R2 server and got stuck and found easy way of installing this as follow.
when you start installing IIS and at the last step as i marked on red square confirmation. there you find
export configuration settings..go to and export it to C drive and open Powershell by right clicking as open as administrator and run this from Powershell and it will install successfully.
Please let me know if you are facing any issue, since this way it has to work.
OR if you it already worked let me know or mark as correct.

Unable to install Server: A child action failed
After a fresh install of Mountain Lion and applying all current updates, I am unable to install Server 2.2.1 on OSX 10.8.5.
I was able to click continue, agree to the EULA, and enter my user password to begin the installation, and then I receive the error message "A child action failed." the only thing I see in /var/log/server.log that looks remotely useful is Could not find image named 'XSLock'.

Unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005 on Satellite A205-s5831
Hello everyone.
I Needs some helps from all of you.
I have Toshiba Laptop Satellite A205-S5831.
Its Have Windows Vista Home Premium.
And I am unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005.
I also Unable to Install Windows XP SP2.
Problem is SATA driver.
Plz Help me ...!
Response meHi
The Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install it on the notebook with SATA HDD controller.
The SATA driver can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.
I would recommend using the nLite program to include a SATA driver into the new Windows XP CD and then to boot from the new created XP CD.
Here you will find all details regarding the nLite:

Regarding SQL server issue;
Maybe you will be able to install in on Windows XP. Possibly there is a compatibility issue between the Vista and the SQL server software -
Unable to install SQL Server 2014 Express LocalDb on Windows 8.1 Update 1
Apologies if this is not the right place or this has been posted before (I looked and didn't find anything)
I am unable to install SQL Server 2014 Express LocalDb on Windows 8.1 Update 1, as I get an 'Operating System not Supported' error message right away.
What can I do to get this working?Hi Zgreve,
Usually, from
hardware and software requirements for installing SQL Server 2014, we can install SQL Server Express version on the Windows 8.1. For more information, see:
Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express.
Before you install SQL Server 2014 Express version, you should ensure installing the .NET Framework 4, then run as administrator for the SQL Server setup.exe again.
There is a similar detail about install SQL Server Express LocalDB via GUI and command line. You can also review the following steps.
http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2694/getting-started-with-sql-server-2012-express-localdb/
If the same error about OS still exists, I recommend you submitting a feedback to Microsoft such issues at
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback, Your feedback enables Microsoft to offer the best software and deliver superior services, meanwhile you can learn more about and contribute to the
exciting projects on Microsoft Connect.
Thanks,
