Unable to installl Linkedin Addon

Firefox could not install the search plugin from "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/4606/addon-4606-latest.xml?src=search" because an engine with the same name already exists.
I have no idea what this means, nor what I am supposed to do with it. What is an "engine"?

this is referring to a search engine in the firefox search bar on the top right of the window - apparently you already have linked-in installed there!

I get this error while installation of addon.
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
My code works fine when executed directly from Visual Studio. But when i build the addon and try to install it, i get this error.
The server is 64 Bit. is it making any difference?

look at sdk forum, there is a lot of explanation for this.
From visual studio you are using diferent connection string than in addon and for addon you must create separately instal file (not only compiled as exe from vs)
In sdk samples is example for addon creating, look at that.

I was suffered by the addo Gamevance TextLinks or XUL Cache which converts the google search engine results to the advertisements. And I'm unable to uninstall tha addon. Can you help me how to do please?

Installer missing addons

I just reinstalled my system, added LV 7.1, *.5 and then ran the complete installer for 8.6. The old versions are missing most of the toolkit addons. What is the best method for adding the software, I have professional developers suite liscences for all versions. in the past the installer would have put on the software for all versions but this didnt happen this time. I need the old versions to keep working on my active projects. I have to have this asap.

Unable to uninstall an addon

I have an addon called 'Flaticon' that is no longer installed, i removed it via extension manager but adobe constantly tries to download it and since I updated to Adobe CC 2014 release it is no longer compatible. Pressing 'remove' on https://creative.adobe.com/addons/my_addons doesn't actually do anything to remove it from the list.

Hi Matt,
Can you confirm that you have File Sync enabled in the Creative Cloud app? I can see that you have it marked as uninstalled, so it should not be attempting to reinstall it. It seems an obvious question, but have you restarted your computer at all? This may help to get it up-to-date with install/uninstall operations for add-ons. Also, do you perhaps have the add-on installed on another computer at the same time?

I am unable to remove some addons/extension as i dnt see only disable option n nt the remove option there. What should i do?

There are some addons/extensions which are not compatible with my current version of mozilla. I am seeing the "type error: components.classes[cid]" evry time while starting the firefox. So, i want to remove those incompatible addons. Those are google gears 0.5.36.0,speed boat video downloader2.2.9,widgi toolbar flatform4.4,you tube downloader toolbar 4.4. I went to tools>options>manage addons. But i cant see remove option for above mentioned addons, only disable option i am seeing. What should i do then?

Those extensions were probably installed like plug-ins and since you see them as extensions you will probably have to uninstall each of them through the Control Panel, see directions for various systems in

If that solves your problem, please mark as solved or post which ones did not uninstall. Very important since I don't see similar questions and marked as solved helps people find solutions.

Unable to install ANY addon.

I don't add too many but recently I had to rebuild my machine.
I got some of the addons installed, but suddenly I can't install any.
I was trying some and dismissed it as "the site is busy" but now I can't seem to install any.
I have anitvirus programs running and am "clean" - as far as they are concerned - and I am running MBAM now.
I have the latest version (19.0) and 19.0.2 both won't install any addon. They just seem to "stall".
I am trying to install either of the australian english dictionary.
Both just fail.
Oh, this site seems to have changed since my last visit. There are no graphics, it is "unix" like. And is SLOW AS..... to load. But so are many other sites as well.

Update:
MBAM scanned the computer and I got a report.
It did find a couple of "nasty" files.
They were deleted and I don't know if they had actually activated.
But picking a simple one like Australian English dictionary it just doesn't load.
Am reading the "corrupt file" link now.
Alas not else much useful to report.

I am not able to install any addons after updating to firefox 7.0.1. Addons are still working. Addons will start to download but will get stuck at 100% download progress.

What addons do you already have installed? Could be one of them is interfering with the downloads somehow...

Unable to setup linkedin and twitter accojnts

I'm having trouble setting up a linkedin and twitter account. After filling the username and password fields, the Playbook starts validating those and never leaves that state, no matters how long I wait. Any ideas.

Hello, thanks, but it did not help. Actually I have no idea what is going on but the timezone for my area is wrong. I had to choose the timezone for another country because windows seems to think it's another time. So I don't know if this has anything to do. I am however able to download addons in Comodo Dragon so it's more confusing.

This error could be cause by a versioning or corrupted installation:
1. For the version please check if you have another add-on installed with the same version like 2.1.2 (try to change it add-on file and try again)
You can also try to change the add-on installation order (in case of you have another add-ons installed).
2. If checking the version does not help please check those notes on How to clean client after corrupt installation of addon and also Re-registering the UI.

Restrict Customised Addon Installation (Usage)

Hi All,
I have done the development for our one of the clients requirements. We are going to install the same in the client location. Actually we want to restrict the addon installation to only one server i.e., subsequently that addon shouldnt be used by some other company, it could be even their sister concern.
Is there any way to restrict the addon installation? Is there any way to do through coding without getting SAP Licencing?

I feel your solution will work well. And one more clarification. I thought of giving the same Addon to other companys who are in Same Industry. But I want to restrict their use for 15 days only. I can capture the Addon Installation Date & I can compare the same with the Current date. By this logic, I could control.
But actually, I want to restrict 2nd installation of Addon in the same server. How I can go ahead with that. I have one logic in mind, please tell me that will work or not.
I will capture the System name in any of the system table while installing the Addon for the first time. In the 2nd installation, I will cross check the System Name. If it exists, I want to restrict the installation.
My query is that, where can I restrict whether in installation of Addon or while opening the Customised screen.
Please clarify.

IGS installation for GIS

While installing IGS, we are unable to find "IGSService AddOn Local" when we run netsetup.exe from the presentation CD.
Could anybody tell me on installation procedure and configuration steps of IGS for GIS?

Adobe cloud tries to load addon which I have deleted in Extension manager

when Adobe Cloud starts it tries to load an application (Edge FX lite) that I have deleted in Adobe Extension Manager cc. I get the error message ' unable to install the addon EdgeFX lite error 603. How do I stop this?
Also in Adobe Exchange in 'My Stuff' there are showing addons which I have removed in Adobe extension Manager cc which I would like to be removed from this listing as I will never use them, but if I right click to uninstall I fail to get rid of them.

Apologies, without making the assumption that you are signed in
1) Go to https://creative.adobe.com/addons/
2) In the top right hand corner select sign in and enter your Adobe ID and password
3) Once logged in, on the center of the screen at the left hand side, select the link 'All your purchases and shared items'
4) You will then be taken to a page that is the equivalent of your My Stuff panel.
5) You can then install individual add-ons/extensions.
