Unable to integrate file server into KM......

Hello all,
I have performed all the steps required to integrate file server with portal(EP6 SP9-cluster installation) on UNIX.
Under component monitor->repository managers->file server's name I'm unable to see mountinfo running.
As specified by SAP, "File System Mount Service" gets started automatically.
Can anybody help me out with this.
Regards,
Amol.
Note:i have performed the same steps on our development server resulting in successful integration.

Hi Shaun
Tried both of your suggestions, however neither strategy worked.
Strategy 1
Tried installing via powershell - "install-windowsfeature -name fs-resource-manager -includemanagementtools"
Feature un-installed itself during the restart.
Attempted to use the command "DISM /online /remove-feature /featurename:FSRM-Infrastructure-Services".  However
this did work because one the Service was'nt installed or two because there was no command option for "/remove-feature"
PACKAGE SERVICING COMMANDS:
/Add-Package            - Adds packages to the image.
/Remove-Package         - Removes packages from the image.
/Enable-Feature         - Enables a specific feature in the image.
/Disable-Feature        - Disables a specific feature in the image.
/Get-Packages           - Displays information about all packages in the image.
/Get-PackageInfo        - Displays information about a specific package.
/Get-Features           - Displays information about all features in a package.
/Get-FeatureInfo        - Displays information about a specific feature.
/Cleanup-Image          - Performs cleanup and recovery operations on the image.
Strategy 2
Tried installing via powershell, using the following command DISM
/online /enable-feature /featurename:FSRM-Infrastructure-Services, however got the same result, the install backed out during the restart.
All up back to where I started?

    Hi Ganesh,
this error message tells you that there is no user in your active directory that has the userPrincipalName xxxx.
    The SSO22KerbMapModule works as follows.
    1. It receives a SAP Logon Ticket from the WebDAV request.
    2. If valid the SAP username is extracted. In your case the SAP username is xxxx.
    3. It then searches for a user in AD. It does so using the attribute in the ini-file that has been specified to contain the SAP username. In your case the SAP username should be identical with the userPrincipalName.
So you have to make sure that the portal user id (j_user) is mapped to the same AD user attribute  that is specified in the ini-file .
    Best regards,
    Andre

  • Query on integrating windows file server into SAP KM using WEBDAV

    hi
I have sucessfully integrated windows file server into SAP KM using WEBDAV. I have query in it regarding the possible validation against the portal Database user. Can we configure such that the user comparison happens for LDAP as well as database user. Have anyone configured such a scenario?
    Regards,
    Ganesh N

    Hi Ganesh,
    this should work in principle.
However you would need a user in Active Directory for each user in the portal database that should connect to the file server if you are using the SSO22KerbMap Module as I assume.
In my whitepaper I have mentioned this for the internal user index_service that does only exist in the portal database.

  • Migrate documents from the windows file server into km

    Hi All,
I have around 100 GB of documents in a file server and i want to migrate the same data in to KM.
I am sure that there should be some standard process to do this, can any one please help me out in solving this.
    Thanks
    Ajay

    Hi Ajay,
what do you mean by migrate? You could use a Windows Filessystem KM-Repository to integrated these files directly into KM (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/92322ab24e11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm)
Otherwise you could use WebDAV (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/4a/217fb6c33c6748a1715a161ac942cd/frameset.htm, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/9600e5391e25dee10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm) or the Portal Drive (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/42/c99b91341a6bade10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm) to copy these files in a (for example) DB repository.

    Regards
    Vinit

    Hi Vinit,
if you want some Windows File Server integrated into Portal, please do not use a WebDAV Repository, but use the File System Repository instead. Therefore you need to configure the according Repository Manager. Please refer to this documentation:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/frameset.htm">Integrating Documents from a Windows System into KM</a>

I've assigned the letter to the drive to which DPM was backing up, found the last file (the size was 0) and copied this file from the source without any problem.
This problem occurred several times with different storages for replica. Unfortunately previous logs went away so I cannot say that it stopped on the same file, but the error "Data corruption near MTF DBLK" was the same.
When the file server was on Windows 2008 R2 and DPM was 2012 SP1 there were no problems with backup.

  • Unable to integrate SimpleImpl example into split-level directory structure

I am trying to integrate the SimpleImpl web service example into my weblogic server 9.1 application, but I am at a dead end.
Here is what I have so far.
A WSDL that is visible at a path of http://<host>:<port>/simple/SimpleService?WSDL
A JWS_WebService.jsp that loads and appears to retrieve the WSDL.
The simpleImpl example is a sub-deployment of module-type 'wsee' inside an app-deployment of module-type 'ear'.
I did not put the library-ref (generated by jwsc) from the weblogic-application.xml in my ear's weblogic-application.xml.
When I go to the JWS_WebService.jsp in my web app (another sub-deployment in my ear). I submit the example query and get the following error. Has anyone seen this before?

I confirm : everyone on the planet is getting the same issue : from windows 8.1 to a NAS : doesn't copy without message, just creates silently the first folder and leave it empty.
every other combination works : from windows 7 to the same NAS, windows 8.1 to an USB key, everything works.
for your information, a NAS is a standalone device, not a computer, you can only manage it remotely.
so just stop asking about details about the error message, there isn't any.
this is not something you can fix by making settings or reading KB. you have to make the test yourself if you don't believe your customers, and once you'll understand that this is a serious bug, you have to escalate to the development teams to alter the
windows 8 code to make it work almost as well as a windows 7 can.
pardon me if i speak hardly, but i've just made a dozen of internet searches, and the whole platet seems to be aware of this issue, you are the only one who ignores it or ask an unrelated question. on another hand, your are the ony ones that can fix it.
Don't try to incriminate the NAS firmware as you were able to deal with it in windows 7.
if you need more info, just make an internet search with the following terms :
"windows 8.1" when copying on a "network drive" nas

  • Integrating Dialog/App server into 4.7 system

We are on SAP R/3 4.7 using Oracle 9.2.0.6 and Solaris 8.
To test the performance of a Linux application server on our QA system, we installed Suse Linux 9 on a server and have performed the SAP installation as per the Installation Guide "SAP R/3 Enterprise on UNIX: Oracle - Using SAP R/3 Enterprise Core 4.70, SAP Enterprise Extension Set 2.00", following the Linux-specific instructions for Dialog servers.
The installation completed successfully, and 'startsap' brought the App server box up successfully.
However, the App server is not visible in SM51, and efforts to sign into it via the SAP GUI produce the error WSAECONNREFUSED - Error 10061.  We have previously experienced the same issue with another App server on which we installed SQL Server.
I am not aware of any steps that were missed in the installation guide, and would like to know if there is a procedure that needs to be followed after installation to integrate the server into the existing system.  During the SAPinst process, the server was identified as a Dialog Server, and the name of the Central/Database instance was specified, so I would have expected the system to recognize the new Dialog/Application server.
This is the first time I have installed an Application/Dialog server, and any information regarding what is missing would be very valuable.
    Thanks,
    Mervyn

    hello Mervyn,
Please check in SAP MMC if the dialog instance(application server) is showing up or not. Further check if it is running. You should also try to restart the SAP server.
    Regards.

  • How to integrate C++ server in weblogic

I have developed a C++ class implementing a kind of server. It
receives requests from clients, processes the requests (by
accessing ODBC databases), and returns the results back to the
client. Then it remains waiting for the next request, never
    finishes.
Now I am trying to integrate this server into a Weblogic
environment to take benefit of scalability, availability,
    performance, ...
I would like to know what are my choices:
    a) I think that servlets are not suitable as I do not want my
server to finish execution after serving a request. But what
about servlets + EJBs. Could my server be implemented with a
    combination of both?
In that case I suppose that I cannot take advantage of the JDBC
conection pool from my C++ class, can I? ...
    b) I could make a java wrapper for my C++ functions in order to construct an RMI object. I wonder if this is possible.
    c) I could implement my server as a CORBA object. Then the
weblogic server would have an active IIOP connection pool for
say 5 or 10 instances of my CORBA object. Do I really need to
purchase Weblogic Enterprise? Can I do something else with the
    Weblogic Server?
In that case the ODBC connections would be established at the
    CORBA startup time.
    c) Other?
    Thanks in advance.

Eduardo, does your solution require the Weblogic Enterprise product or just the Weblogic Server? No, WLS will not work with WLE until the next point release of WLE.
Is a C++ ORB the same as a CORBA object?Yes.

On the other hand, I have wrapped the C++ class by means of JNI so that I have the corresponding java class available. Then the implementation of a RMI server is quite straightforward. I am just beginning with RMI but it seems far more easy that CORBA, isn't it?Yes, the only trouble is that iff your C++ object is colocated with the WLS server, you could take the whole server down iff the C++ code faults. What would also work, without this side effect, is if you wrapped the C++ code in a WLS client and bound the client side RMI server into the WLS server.
As I see it, the main advantage of this choice would be that the Weblogic Enterprise product would not be required (since Weblogic Server itself supports calling RMI from servlets, for example).
Please some further advise on this issue would be appreciated.
    Thanks. David

Host your C++ server on a C++ ORB. BInd a reference to it into the COS Naming/WLS JNDI tree. Delegate calls from (into) the C++ object using WLS support for IIOP. This makes it so that the native code does not take down your server when (if) it goes south.

  • On A Budget - Options for Using a File Server.

Hi - I have this relatively old 2008R2 file server (8GB memory and 25TB disk) I'd like to use as file storage for a SQL Server VM.  The network is a 1GB switched configuration.  The VM resides on relatively new hardware (Server 2012, SAS) but doesn't
have a lot of disk.  I'd like to make a bunch of the file server space available for SQL Server Data (2008R2) - its a small network (10 users) that we want to load a bunch of glob data indexed by a few keywords as reference.  Kind of like a
GIS database.  My first thought is to create fixed vhdx file on the file server via Hyper-V manager, but this takes days to initialize for the size I'm thinking of (10TB).  I created an expanding disk and it was pretty quick to create.  I copied
a 4GB file over the net to the mounted (from the Hyper-V Host) vhdx file and it went pretty fast.  I thought about using the iSCSI trick to attach it to the SQL VM (turning the file server into a SAN sort of?), but I'm wondering if this is overkill.
I'm just looking for a few suggestions.  There is a lot of stuff out there, some of it conflicting, about storage configuration.
    Thanks

    Yes, upgrading....
I need to emphasize the budget thing.  I will look into the iSCSI option.  The VM is Server 2012.
We might be able to convert the 2008 server to Windows 8.  It doesn't really do anything besides file shares and security is not a concern as we are not connected.  Is that an option?  Win8 supports SMB 3 I understand.
Yes you can do that. But... Older desktop versions of Windows were limited on amount of TCP connections they could handle obviously affecting usability and performance as a server. Not sure what's accurate for Windows 8 as MSFT has been changing this policy
back and forth all the time )) Check within MSFT licensing specialists before you do that.
P.S. I'd spawn FreeBSD or openSUSE with a Samba instead of a desktop version of Windows OS being used as a file server. IMHO.

    Hi,
I think already file system repository created in the portal. plz check it
    Goto >System Admin>System Config>KM>Content management>Repositories manager>File system Repository. or create a new repository..
You can use File System Repository so that you can integrate ur file server with portal. Refer this link
