"Unable to join" when connecting to internet.

I stopped using my iPod touch for a bit (4th generation) and I started using it again after two weeks or so. When I tried to connect to my internet, it gave me an "unable to join" message. I used to be able to connect fine.
I have tried resetting network settings on my iPod, restarting my iPod, basic stuff like that.
I believe it is worth noting that I have gotten a new router in the time I stopped using it-it is not the same model, but they are both Linksys. The new one is an E2500.
Any ideas? This is really annoying-I can't do anything online or on the App Store.

Hi,
From the log of Android, I notice that the your “Server” machine has two IP address, 192.168.56.1 and 172.17.2.225. Which one is correct? And the IP address of “HTPC” machine is  172.17.2.205.
From the log of IOS, I see that you were trying to connect to the “HTPC” machine. However, IOS cannot resolve the name to IP address.
Therefore, please make sure that the IOS device and the “HTPC” machine are in the same network. Furthermore, please make sure that they have the same subnet mask and DNS settings.
If issue persists, please let us know more details about your network topology.
Hope this helps.

  • MBP freezes when connected to internet

    Hi all,
My 2011 MBP has continually frozen when connected to the internet for going on 5 months now. Bizarrely, it is the only computer in the house that is affected, and it is only on this network that the problem occurs. When connected to other networks, the laptop functions as normal.
With regard to the freeze, I can still move the cursor around the screen (although it becomes a beachball), however any programs I have open become unresponsive and I am unable to open any new ones. This includes Finder. Further, I am unable to login when connected to my home network, instead stuck on the user login window (the part with the blue bar after I've logged in).
I'm somewhat reluctant to reimage it, and so any other ideas would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Just to update this thread with what I've posted elsewhere:
On my machine this problem only happens if the computer has been put to sleep before being connected to a projector. That is, put to sleep after being booted but before connection to the computer. It can be connected after booting without sleep. Once it has been successfully connected to a projector, it can be disconnected, put to sleep, awakened and reconnected with no problem.
I think that this "first sleep after boot" issue is what makes the occurrence of this problem so variable.
Some people just leave their computer on for long periods, only putting it to sleep when not using it. If they connected to a projector before putting it to sleep the first time they wouldn't see this problem.

  • Blue Screen when connecting to internet

I have this problem: blue screen appear in Win XP randomly when i try to connect to internet using a Genius modem. The error notification is this:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LES_OR_EQUAL
    Tehnical information:
    ***STOP: 0x000000D1 (0X00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    Beginning dump of phisical memory....."
First i suspected a memory issue, so i tested it with Memtest 86 but didn't find any errors. I run 3DMark 2001 several times with no errors, 3D games runs also without problems. I put the modem in 3rd PCI slot, the 4th is occupied by the network adapter and the 5th slot by the SB Audigy (with the newest drivers installed from Creative web site). There is an IRQ sharing between the network adapter and an USB host controller used for a Logitech Steering Wheel. CPU temp never exceed 50C, Dinamic Overclock is disabled and Performance is set to slow.BIOS is 1.3. Since i have this motherboard, (six days) i have this very annoyng problem 1 of 4 times i connect to the internet.
Please, if you do have any suggestions i need some help.

I researched this a bit, with my very similar error.
I can tell you this much with certainty--that blue screen is a driver problem. Maybe in your case Norton FW is bringing it out, but it is probably a conexant chipset in your modem, and you are getting the same end result as me.
They haven't released, at least that I can find, a driver for this modem chip set that correctly handles irq sharing. Conexant is what's inside of a suprising number of modems, and the software (base driver from them to the modem OEM) is old.
Pretty sure Danny's on the right track with hyperthreading being the problem. The other possibility is the whole complicated HAL/APIC deal. Toss in some other HAL acronyms.
But hyperthreading is a more recent development, so I will give it a shot, soon. Don't feel like crashing at the moment. But if that is the answer, I'm not going to turn off HT. Nope, the modem will be stuck with the generic 56k MS driver, which works ok, sorta, just doesn't report speeds right, or do compression and error handling right. Or 56K for that matter. OK, it's a bonejob, but I need HT more than a dial-up.
    Unless somebody has some ideas.
One day I will take out my collection of really crappy modems and shoot them. Do a web page. I now have 5.
Don't buy Bestdata. 2 year old driver and they want money to talk to tech support. Brand new. Says XP PRO on the box.

  • Can't see printer or shares when connected via Internet Sharing

I recently switched from a 2006 to a 2008 Mac Pro. Rather than do a migration I simply took the hard drives from the old machine and put them in the new one.
I then upgraded to Mountain Lion.
I use Internet Sharing to share my Mac Pro's Ethernet connection via wifi, but the other Macs can't see the Mac Pro's printer or shares when connected in this way. They can access the internet. If I connect a machine via the LAN rather than Internet Sharing, the shares and printer are visible.
This worked fine on Lion on the old machine. Any ideas?

Seems that the issue is something to do with connecting via WPA2. When I set Internet Sharing to use WEP (by option-clicking the security menu), I'm then able to see the network shares and the printer.

  • Siri has lost volume when connected to internet. all else works perfectly even siri when off the internet

Tech support said it is a beta system and no guarantee to get it fixed.  When I called the Apple store they were not aware that Siri is Beta.  Now I have to drive many miles with my new    Ipad to try to get it fixed. OR replaced.  They don't make it easy.  MyI phone took three vists and two replacement phones to have an operational system.  APPLE  will not even allow for any compensation for their problem.  NO "gifts" to make up for the miles and the time the problem causes you. I have bought Apple stock and now see it dropping and it will continue to drop if they do not change their customer service.  This is not the old Apple which I based my whole office on.  In the past year two purchases. I phone 4s and the new IPad .  Both with problems requiring my efforts, car travel, and time to try to get fixed.
Does anyone have a solution to the loss of volume on the siri function that only occurs when connected to the internet?  All other functions have full volume Don

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

  • MSI MS-6390LE-L reboots when connecting the internet

Built a new system with the MSI  MS-6390LE-L motherboard based on the KM266 chipset and Athlon CPU. It is rebooting when connecting to the internet (installed a SonicBlue Supra PCI modem). Now I read the small print burried in the specs that states: Must use proprietary PCI Modem card with PCTEL solution.
However there is no listing of modems on your site that will work! Does any  brand and model PC-Tel chipset modem work, if not then do any CNR modems work?

  • BSOD appears when connected to internet :(

This is the image, I get when connected to the network at school, without any warning. I have never noticed the same when at home or other places.
And I haven't been able to find out the exact reason behind this.

Some boxes for whatever reason seem to struggle in this way with the latest software update. Mine has slowed down as well and it can be irritating nothing like as slow as you are describing.

    Hi ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

  • Network active, unable 2 establish a connection to internet, email, servers

For the last few months, I've had connection issues with my Mac Pro at work. Tech support (pc guys) have been unable to figure out the issue and attribute it to the network.
The ethernet connection is active and it sometimes works. The connections to our shared drive works most of the time. The email (via microsoft exchange server) works 50/50 and the internet browsers have the sketchiest connectivity.
A PC laptop connected to the same port has no issues. Other MAC users in this building are having the same issues but rely on the wireless connection when their ethernet is interrupted. I don't have an airport card on mine.
Other MACs on campus do not have any connectivity issues.
    Please help!

    It might not be DNS...
My MacPro has recently in the last several months just had period stoppages of Ethernet1.
I've been hassling with network stuff on my internet connection but twice today my MacPro just stopped talking. I can ping somethings but not others and Safari refuses to connect to anything. Email doesn't work etc.
The only thing I can sort of attribute it to and I might try is is that I have both a secure and unsecure network. My virus barrier stuff refused to work through my firewall so I setup the unsecure network on Ethernet2. Since doing that it is sort of like it just gets confused.
If I reboot the MacPro everything comes back alive just fine and when it is stopped if I switch over to my son's MacMini it is fine so I know its not my network or cable modem.
So I don't know if you have both ethernet connections plugged in, in your MacPro but I do and I'm going to try moving the unsecure one to see if the problem gets better.
When the problem happens its very difficult to fix. Only a reboot seems to cure it. I've disabled the Ethernet1 and reenabled it, unplugged, replugged the cable, etc... It just seems to totally die.
Hopefully disconnecting Ethernet2 will do the trick.

  • How do you stop phone from rebooting when connected to internet?

i have been experiencing problems w my 8900 when i'm connected to the internet. whenever i'm on internet it reboots by itself. can sumone tell me how i can solve this issue

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behaviors creep in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

  • Problem when connecting to internet with a proxy...

Hi guys, I really need your help this time I hope you can follow my explanation on my problem...
Heres the deal: I just got my Macbook Air and it had been great until... I took it to my school and tried to connect to the Wi-Fi network which needs a proxy configuration (http://configura.ccm.itesm.mx/proxy.pac). First I join the wireless network and then I set up the proxy URL in network settings. The first time it worked and I was so happy, but then I closed my Macbook Air to go to my next class and when I open it again the internet is completely dead The configuration stills there but Neither Safari nor Firefox can display ANY website, the weird thing is that a lot of people has Macs on the same classroom and they get a perfect connection, I even asked them for help but they can't find what's going wrong...
This is sooo frustrating since this is an expensive Mac BTW the wireless connection in my house works great I have no problems there the only problem is at school at sometimes... Even my iPhone can connect to the wireless network without a problem and it has a smaller antenna than the Air...
I hope someone can help me I'm so confused and frustrated right now...
NOTE: There's an in-campus Apple Store and all the computers there have the internet configured exactly the same way i do...
    Please help

    Hi Johannes,
We are facing the same question with our 7.0 Portal (SPS 13). It seems that the application "NavigationWS" does not exist, there is not even an application alias defined at the HTTP provider of the J2EE engine.
What Portal version are you using? Is there a difference to the Portal that has no problems with providing the wsdl?
    Kind regards,

  • Safari will not load pages when connected to internet

I have just received a new mac book through work and find that I am unable to load any pages when in a wirless hotspot or at home using Safari even though the Airport and the connection help tells me that i am connected to the internet.
Does anyone have any ideas why this is? Might it be something to do with the way it has been configured?

    Hi Derek
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Go to your System Preferences (via the Apple Menu in the upper left of the screen) and open the Network panel. Select your connection on the left, then select "advanced". Click on the DNS panel. There, enter the following DNS codes:
If you live in the US - 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2
These are Verizon codes for the general public
If you live outside the US - 208.67.222.220 and 208.67.220.222
Select OK when done. Then "apply".
    Restart Safari.
