Unable to launch Config tool to updaing the Secure Store

Hi Experts,
We've moved a 7.01 J2EE stack to a new server, where the hardware key has changed. As a result, SAP is not able to build a connection to the Oracle database. (The database is startable via SQLPLUS).
In our attempt to update the secure store information, the configtool does not start to allow changes to the secure store - it simply dies out after not being able to build the connection.
The offline configurarion tool does not start at all for the same reasons.
Any thoughts on how to update the secure store to update the password?

Hi Ventsi,
Your answer was dead-on. We were indeed able to lauch the config tool from the 'remote' location and were able to edit the secure store files afterwards. SAP support has stated that the fix for 7.01 will be available with support stack 07 (not yet released).
On a side note, we found the true core of our issue. Apparently, once this server was moved to it's new location (new IP) a firewall rule prevented the proper functioning of the TNSlistener in building a java based connection string. The listener depended on the nslookup functionality working properly.
Once we corrected the port block and nslookup could function correctly, the listener also functioned correctly and everything began to flow.
We're up and running again. I don't understand the false positive we got here for the issue, but we're fixed and running again.

I have the same problem. I gave up on it and satisfied myself with my iPod without the upgrade. Reason being I've read so many posts of people having problems after the upgrade. But I'm sure other factors are involved. Nevertheless here is the fix most say works to solve the problem: What ever virus protection you have installed on your computer, disable it. Then try to install the update. After that enable the protection. I had Kaspersky, and it does it's job well. The thinking is, the virus protection is blocking the upgrade. Hope this works. Charlie

Error MSB3323: Unable to find manifest signing certificate in the certificate store.

Problems began when I received the MSDN Final VS 2005 v8.0.50727.42 and uninstalled the RC build which I had worked with without issue and replaced it with the previously mentioned.

I have tested C++ project builds for managed and unmanaged code and both work without a problem. My C# projects however fail to build, the error I get is:

I got the same problem but I was tring to strong name my application. I was able to solve the problem by opening the XXX.csproj file in a text editor (notepad.exe) and remove the following tags from the XML.
<ManifestCertificateThumbprint>...</ManifestCertificateThumbprint>
<ManifestKeyFile>...</ManifestKeyFile>
<GenerateManifests>...</GenerateManifests>
<SignManifests>...</SignManifests>
It seem that someone (another member of my team) was playing with the OneClick stuff, but didn't check in the strong name key files he used. But did check in the project file.
Then when I created the new strong name key file and signed the EXE, something was out-of-sync with the above tags in the probject file and the new key file.
Removing these tags may be a bad thing (someone from MS will need to comment) but it worked for me.

The Secure Store Service application Secure Store Service Proxy is not accessible

I am working on setting up a new SharePoint 2013 Farm for our external web site which is currently running on 2010 SharePoint. Because this is an External Website for our organization we have an internally available Publishing Site and there is an Web App
Extension to provide Anon Access to users using the www address. Currently I am doing everything on a single server for testing with HOSTS entries to loop back so I can test with real host headers and not impact the 2010 prod environment. We will be setting
up 2 more WFEs with a NLB before moving this into prod but it isn't there yet. We brought the Site Collection Databases over but are still running in 2010 mode for now.
I migrated a copy of the Secure Store Database over from 2010 and had it put on the 2013 Farm's Database Server. Set up Secure Store and the Secure Store Proxy. I went into the Secure Store Proxy in CA and refreshed the Key with the proper Pass Phrase. After
doing that I could see the Target Application IDs listed. Everything was looking good so I went off to test. If I am on the publishing site I can go to a page that has the solution on it and it operates as expected. It does a query to a non SharePoint database
and returns information filtered based on the search parameters. The only odd thing I see is if I click on the "Site Actions" I get a message "An error has occurred with the data fetch. Please refresh page and retry." Need to look into
that more but it only happens on pages that have these solutions. Maybe a clue. If I go to the Anonymous Access page (www......) and try and use the solution, it immediately (way too quick to appear like it is doing anything) comes back with "The security
token request cannot be completed."
If I dig through the usage logs I am finding the following.
The Secure Store Service application Secure Store Service Proxy is not accessible. The full exception text is: The security token request cannot be completed.

Initially I was fighting a firewall issue because it wasn't working (different errors) on both sides. Had Network Engineers open firewall ports needed and now it works on the publishing side. Still the same error on the Anon side. I suspect I have missed
something when it comes to configuring the Secure Store to allow access to anonymous connections.
Let me know if you need any more information but that should paint a pretty good picture as to how things are set up.

I recommend to verify the things below:
Did this issue occur with all the pages in the anonymous side?
Check if the Claims to Windows Token Service is started.
Change the <identity impersonate="true" /> in the web.config to see if the issue still occurs.

Get Current UserName in Infopath always returns the secure store service credential name

I followed the 3 page tutorial here to get the current Display Name in an infopath textbox.https://spvee.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/auto-populate-user-information-in-infopath-with-claims-based-authentication-part-1-of-3/
After several tries I narrowed down the problem to something very specific.
It always shows the Display Name of the user used in the Credentials in the secure store service application. It doesnt use the current user.
I do have access to the farm, but I didnt not install it, so am not aware if something is wrong on IIS/App Pools or service applications.
Any idea??

ARM approval error after upgrading to SP14: Database error while using the secure store.

Dear GRC experts,
After upgrading GRC 10 to SP14, assigning manual passwords during the approval of a request, the approval process is failing.
Here is the scenario; your advice will be appreciated.
Task: Manually assign passwords to multiple systems contained in the request
Where: On the access request, go to “User System Details” tab
Issue: After approving/submitting the request, the error “Database error while using the secure store” is generated
Logs: Nothing on transactions SLG1 or ST22; however ST11 shows the error attached below:
This is the failed approval of the request:
Other scenarios executed as a workaround, and passed the password assignment this time:
The approval will work if only one password is assigned to any of the given systems. The rest of the systems get an auto-generated
password.
ARM also accepts multiple passwords when the requestor assigns passwords on the “User System Details” prior submitting a
request. The GRC admin can approve once reached for system approval.
AS FYI, “Confirm Password” is only required when creating the request but not on any other stage.

Message failing in SXMB_moni----Error while reading from the secure store

The scenario is as below
A file is picked up from a folder and processed to enrich it.This enriched file is then written back in a different folder.
The message is failing in sxmb_moni while trying to write the file in the folder.
The PI system is a system copy of another system and few of the configuration objects are transported through a tpz file to this PI system.The file receiver channel used to write this file is also transported through this tpz file.
Below is the error seen in moni.:

The clean way to Uninstall JAVA is through SAPINST.
Make user you drop only the JAVA Schema ID (SAPSR3DB)
If you want to uninstall manually, follow as mentioned below :
1. Stop the central services instance and all dialog instances of your SAP system:
a) Log on to the corresponding instance host as user <sapsid>adm.
b) Execute the following commands:
   To stop the central services instance:
             stopsap r3 <SCSinstanceName>
   To stop a dialog instance:
            stopsap r3 <DialogInstanceName>
2. Stop the J2EE Engine of the central instance:
a) Log on to your SAP system.
b) Call transaction SMICM.
c) Choose Administration J2EE Instance (local) Send Hard Shutdown
2. Drop the J2EE DB schema (the db schema for this one SAP SID) BE VERY CAREFUL, do not drop the DB schema for another existing system or
the ABAP schema.
a. Log on as user ora<dbsid>.
b. Start sqlplus and connect to the database. Enter:
sqlplus /nolog
c. SQLPLUS>connect / as sysdba
d. Enter the following command to delete the database objects of the database schema:
SQLPLUS> drop user SAP<SCHEMA_ID>DB cascade;
e. Enter the following command to get the file name of the corresponding data file in the file system:
SQLPLUS> select file_name from dba_data_files where \

The current OS I am using is Microsoft Windows XP
Service Pack 2.
The very last installation was made with JDK version 142_12.
However it was pointless. I can try to reinstall with
the mentioned newest JCE policy files .
Can tell me from where I can obtain these above
JCE policy files ?

Hi,
I have given full control to usr folder and all the subfolder for my user.Also logical name sapmnt has been given full control and shared as well.But when i try to access sapmnt folder it says access is denied.
Moreover can you provide steps to change the server name.

SAPSR3DB of Config Tool getting Locked While Launching Config Tool

Although it was unlocked at the DB Level EACH Time,
The SAPSR3DB User gets locked EACH time I launch the Config Tool and I need to find out why / rectify it .
Any Input on this strange event ?
