Unable to launch ESR & ID on Windows 7 (tried 1.4.2_12, JDK 5.0, JEE 6.0)

Hi,
I've system with Windows 7 & JEE SDK 6 (inbuilt java webstart).
I'm trying to launch SAP PI 7.1 ESR & ID but to no avail.
I tried uninstalling 6.0 and install JDK 5.0 (inbuilt webstart).
Then tried by uninstalling 5.0 and installing 1.4.2_12.
But all i get is repository.jnlp and directory.jnlp saved in Temp folder.
tried double clicking them, cleared cache as suggested in few threads but to no avail.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

>Open the default ESR start page located at http://servername:port/rep

>Then click on the JNLP File Url Link (Actually make sure you click the Execute link)
>Wait 10-20 minutes for the JAR files to re-generate
For Citrix operations
Press Ctrl + F3 to open Task Manager @ Remote server. Then got to new Task and use OS commands to operate.

As title, nothing happens when I click the captivate icon.

i dont think this is the pre-requisite...i am having java 1.4.2_13 and i am still able to open and work on PI7.1

So, if that happens on a single PC I'd say this is a config conflict with that PC's Java settings.
So Java 7 U21 is running on this PC and you still see the problem? have you confirmed you only have one Java version installed on this machine to avoid a conflict?

HP Quick Launch buttons incompatibility Windows 8.1 / Unable to Launch IE 11 and my yahoo home page

I have an HP Envy dv6 notebook PC Product # C2L31UA #ABA. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 several weeks ago and everything seemed to be working fine. About 3 weeks ago I started having problems with "internet Explorer stopped working" happening all the time. I also seem to have problems with installing updates from HP with failed updates then these problems start occuring. 4 days ago I was unable to launch IE 11 on my desktop or myyahoo home page. IE 11 is not working on my desktop or from the tile on Windows for Internet Explorer. I am able to use google and have been trying to search for solutions. I did find out from a scan that HP Quick Launch buttons are incompatible with Windows 8.1. I thouhgt this might be the problems. I have tried to remove it unsuccessfully. I have spent 4 days trying to fix my computer with no results. I thought I had uninstalled HP quick launch buttons late last night and I did briefly get my desktop to launch last night at 1 AM. However this morning It is not working again and the HP button is still on my computer. Not sure if this is what is causing all of these problems ? I also tried doing a system restore and it failed also. Can someone tell me what I should do? Thanks so much! I am not very computer savy so I am getting very frustrated.

I understand that you are not able to use the HP Quick Launch buttons after upgrading to Windows 8.1, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
The first step I recommend is to completely remove HP Quick Launch from your system by using this Microsoft Fixit tool: Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled. Once the program is removed, please restart your computer.
To further diagnose Internet Explorer on your system, I recommend following Resolving issues in Internet Explorer (Windows 8), as well as Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8). This should help to re-establish a consistent connection between your notebook and wireless network.
If the issue continues, I recommend performing a backup and refresh back to when Windows 8 was still installed on your system. To do this, I recommend following this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8).
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Hi b noir...I thought I did "precise text" when I said I'm unable to launch iTunes. There is no error message there is nothing...it just does not launch. However, I figured it out...it's a Quicktime issue. Weird but it was.

Sqldeveloper - Windows 7 64 Bit - unable to launch

We had the problem the we get this error, when we start the sqldeveloper.exe -> "unable to launch java virtual machine located..."
When I start the /sqldeveloper/bin/sqldeveloper.bat then the sqldeveloper works.
OS: Win7 64 Bit
Sqldeveloper: 32 Bit incl. JDK
Java RE 32 Bit and 64 Bit installed on the PC.

So by "it doesn't work" with just the instant client, you mean to say it still does not launch? But perhaps with a different error than the prior Java-related issue? I'll assume you have gotten past that.
Since SQL Developer only requires some type of Oracle client in certain cases, I'll guess there may be an issue with a left-over ORACLE_HOME environment variable or something similar. Why not try the following workaround discussed here:

Unable to launch an emacs window

Under Tiger, if DISPLAY was set and X11 server was up, I could launch a separate X window for emacs from a Terminal window just by typing emacs. Under leopard, I know not to start up X11 separately and not to set the DISPLAY variable, but emacs (or vi) will only start editing inside the Terminal window, and won't launch a separate emacs X window. Is there anyway to restore the Tiger-style behavior?
