Unable to launch Premiere Elements 11

I can not launch Premiere Elements 11 anymore. I have used this software without any troubles for some months.Today, I got a Windows error message two seconds after launching the software (program stopped working correctly).
I have rebooted/reinstalled...nothing helped so far.

Mac Permissions Do Not Allow Me To Launch Premiere Elements 11?

I spent over an hour chatting via online and on the phone with Adobe concerning my inability to launch Premiere Elements 11. The outcome was that Adobe believes it's a permission constraint on my profile (which is ADMIN.). We created a ROOT profile and tried loading Premiere Elements 11 with no problems. I really don't want to switch from profile-to-profile every time I want to use Premiere and am thinking there must be some resolve out there somewhere. Has anyone run into this problem, and if so, what did you do to take care of it? Thanks in advance...

Installation OK but nothing happend when launching Premiere Elements 13

Hi everybody,
I have an issue when launching Premiere Elements 13.
Installation was ok, serial ok.
When launching
- i choose Premiere instead Organizer
- Pop up ask me to connect to my Adobe id account to activate => next
- i enter my id for connection => ok
- Software License Agreement => I agree
And then nothing happen, the dialog box close and ... nothing.
I work on win7 64bits.
I buyed both Photoshop Elements 13 and Premiere Elements together.
I install Photoshop on my job computer and i install Premiere on my personnal computer.May it come from here.

Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements? And are you running the programs as administrator?
Is your video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?

Why do I get the following message whenever I try to launch Premiere Elements 11??

Hi, hoping someone can help me out here. I am new to Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and whenever I try to launch it, I get the following message:
Before this message appears, while Premiere is loading it allways gets hung-up while trying to load the SmartSound Adobe Plugin:
I tried loading it from the Organizer and get the same result. I uninstalled and reloaded with no luck. I meet the system requirements for Mac and am at a total loss. ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I tried the suggestions contained in the link (even validating the fonts...), and still no luck. It get hung up on the following screen EVERY time:

Receive and ERROR when trying to launch Premiere Elements 11

Out of the Blue, I am suddenly unable to open Priemere Elements 11, the organizer works fine, but if I slect NEW Project from the welcome screen I get the following errors: A dialog box named "Premiere Elements Debug Event" with the message of "Premiere Elements has ecountered an error....
[..\..\Src\Core\Preferences.cpp-388]
The only option on this error is to hit "Continue", at which point a second window pops up with a Runtime Error...
I have uninstalled, rebooted and then reinstalled but there is no change. Has anyone elese seen this problem... thanks in advance for any help.

If you want to give some troubleshooting a try, I will stay with you until we get that Premiere Elements 11 Windows to work. I will have lot of questions because I believe the answers are in the details. Often I write problems with the same symptoms can (often do) have different causes. So, I look at each case for details specific to it.
1. How long have you been running Premiere Elements 11 Windows 7 64 bit without this problem: few days, few weeks, few months, never worked? The usual drill...do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed and are you working from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? Are your video and audio card drivers up to date?
2. What do your computer resources look like, available RAM, free hard drive space (derived from just Local Disk C or using a supplemental drive for scratch disks and video storage? Where are your scratch disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at that location? (See Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks.) Besides your ccleaner maintenance, have you checked for Adobe Folder previews and conformed audio pile ups? Have you cleaned the Media Cache Database (See Edit Menu/Preferences/Media/Media Cache Database.)?
3. You say the problem happened out of the blue. Any new software, plug-ins, codecs, and the like installed around the time that the problem set in?
4. I would like to see you get rid of the Welcome Screen as your point of entry to the program. To that end, right click the Premiere Elements 11 Desktop icon, select Properties, select Open File Location. That will take you to a file named Adobe Premiere Elements 11.exe. Select the file next to it named Adobe Premiere Elements.exe, create a Desktop shortcut to Adobe Premiere Elements.exe, and use that Desktop shortcut thereafter to open Premiere Elements 11.
5. I would also like to explore other ways of opening the Premiere Elements new project depending on results. One example...can you open a new Premiere Elements project from the Elements Organizer?

If possible, download and install the free 30 day tryout of Premiere Elements 11 Windows from Adobe and determine if that will install for you from the Premiere Elements as well as the Elements Organizer interfaces. Adobe allows only one download of its tryout product version whether you have used the product 1 or 30 days. So, if you have gone the tryout route, this idea isn't going to work unless Adobe makes an exception. But, I do like this idea for troubleshooting purposes.
MBolton never did follow up to a conclusion on the thread that kglad kindly referenced. There were other avenues to explore. I look forward to the opportunity to assist you in your Premiere Elements troubleshooting here. I am no longer visiting nor answering questions at the web site where MBolton and I sought to find an answer to this issue.

Unable to install Premiere elements on mac

I am trying to install Adobe Premiere Elements 10. I am on a Mac and start with disc 3. It gets 51% done then exits with exit code 7 and the following message

Thanks for all the replies. Steve has the correct answer. I just do not understand why a program bought directly from Adobe would be shipped when Adobe knows it needs a fix. Why do they not at least note it with the shipment. Not everyone know to check this forum and most people assume a company like Adobe to sell only quality products.

Thanks for the follow up information.
The first thing that is of concern is the 2 GB of installed RAM. But, that should be enough to get at least Premiere Elements 7 installed.
When you started the reinstall of the program, did you do so with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? The typical scheme would be
a. uninstall (Control Panel route)
b. ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts)
c. reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
What was your source for the Adobe Application Manager? Have you confirmed that your Premiere Elements 7 is installed or not via its presence or absence in Control Panel/Programs?

then in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE Folder. Rename the OOBE Folder from OOBE to OLDOOBE.
Does the issue disappear?
We could also look at deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and the whole 7.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.

and in the 7.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 7.0 Folder in which it exists.
Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.

Unable to launch Premiere Pro CC

Hi, I've downloaded Creative Cloud, and Premiere Pro.
On launching Premiere Pro, it gets to "ImporterQuicktime.prm"
Then I get an error message: "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules"
I've signed in and out of CC, updated the graphics drivers & tried running as administrator.
It worked fine with CS6.
What next? I'm hoping to move to CC on 3 other edit desks - so I need to see one running right first!

With my old graphic card Premiere crashed with the Message "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" or just right after start. I´ve tested a lot, updated Drivers and finally bought a new graphic card because my old one (Nvidia K1000M) was not listed as compatible card. With this new card, Premiere crashed instandly.
Finally the Vista compatability mode does the job. Whats wrong?

Unable to launch Photoshop Elements 11 Editor

I have successfully downloaded Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11. Both work fine. All that's missing is the Editor for Photoshop Elements 11. How do I re-install the software in order to get this obviously vital component?

Try making a direct shortcut to bypass the splash screen. On windows 64 bit right click on the desktop and choose New >> Shortcut. Click next and copy and paste the following including quotes into then file path box. Click next and click finish to create the new desktop icon.

Hello John, My operating system is Windows 8.1 64 bit, well the disc I have is brand new, I actually got 2 discs with a new camera,I only bought on Tuesday.1; Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5;; ( no problem with this one ), 2; Adobe Premiere Elements 11, ( this was when the fun started ) I loaded the disc, followed all instructions on screen,, it downloaded until it came to approx 90%. then a window appeared saying there was an error and asked me to Retry, Abort or Ignore, I hit the retry button,, nothing happened, so I tried the ignore button, still nothing happened, so I tapped the ignore button again a few times , then it finished downloading, ( I thought this is great ) until the installation began, that went great until about 86% then the window popped up again ,, Retry; Abort or Ignore, but this time no matter what I did , it would not complete the installation, I tried this at least 10 times and everytime with the same results,so then I tried to download a 30 trial of Photoshop Elements 13, , yes you've guessed right, the exact same thing happened,I'd be very grateful for any help you might be able to give me.Kind Regard's,Barry.

Unable to install premiere element with student activation code?

I bought my student premiere element and photoshop combo pkg in October 2014. When I got home I could not install the program permanently without waiting for Adobe to accept my student ID and provide a serial number to install both. I received it but did not use my paid copy right away. Instead I used the schools. Now I am trying to install it (again, first one I deleted today) but no matter what I do it will not accept my 16 digit serial number. I have been working on this since 8 pm last night. Adobe would not answer on line. Today I went back to Best Buy they couldn't help me, but tried their best. The Geek Squad guy said I should contact Adobe. I have been waiting on hold for 30 minutes. I NEED TO GET THIS DOWNLOADED FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT. Any advice?

I have just looked at what you described for your Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 Professional.
In my case, I used Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop.
Independent of Premiere Elements 12, the Control Panel Display offered 4 choices
1. Duplicate these displays
2. Extend these displays
3. Show desktop only on 1
4. Show desktop only on 2
There were no problems with "Duplicate these displays" except monitor 2 had full screen whereas monitor 1 did not. At this point, non adjustable.This was the case whether Premiere Elements was involved or not involved. And, I do not see this choice as worthwhile for the limited functionality of the Premiere Elements 12 Window Menu/Dual Monitor feature.You end up with each monitor showing the Timeline panel with no where to go.
Now if you select Extend these displays, this probably is more intended for the Premiere Elements Dual Monitor feature. You get both monitors, each full screen view. However, monitor 2 has only the Taskbar at the bottom of its monitor screen. For details on the Premiere Elements dual monitor feature, please refer to

Unable to install Premiere Elements 13 upgrade

During the zip file extraction, it quickly jumps from 20% to 97% and then reports:
"A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder."
There is over 800GB available on the drive and I am running as Administrator with full rights to the machine. As a result, I thought the zip file must have been corrupted during download. I have downloaded 3 times using two different browsers, a 4th time using the alternate download method, and a 5th time with all anti-virus and firewall protections temporarily disabled.
In all cases, I still receive the same error during the .zip file extraction.
Ideas?

Thanks for the response Jeff. I was eventually able to connect with Support through a Chat session. They provided links to download a trial version of Premiere Elements, which I was able to install and then apply my license. The Support rep said this is necessary in about 1% of the installation attempts, which is interesting since it has been necessary on both of my computers so far. I tried the same approach with Photoshop Elements, but the first attempt failed with a similar error. I am trying on the second computer now. It really should not be this difficult to install a purchased product. I also wasted over 3 hours on hold today attempting to get a refund (before I was able to connect with Support). Not a good experience.
