After installing IOS 5.1, I am unable to double click the home button and access the camera. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Does a fix or work aroud exist?

I just updated--my Camera is a disaster.  Yes, I know how to turn (and position) the Camera now. However, every photo I take is UPSIDE DOWN in the Camera Roll OR Photo Stream.  Even worse, a number of my Apps (Weather Underground, for example) are ALSO now upside down.  Has anyone here experienced these serious orientation problems after this update?  I've read the 'Manual' and its as if it doesn't exist.  However, if I leave the Apple site, customer complaints about orientation abound...
This is my first time posting here about an issue (well, the same issue - I posted last week about the Camera, and no one responded).  Any advice at all about how to get this corrected is much appreciated!
Thank you!

• Address bar suggestion drop down no longer accepts a left click to auto complete and goto url, instead left click is forcing a generic search.

Using firefox 31.0, following update I seem to no longer be able to left click a suggested url for it to auto-complete and GOTO...
I am happy to recheck all about:config again, as part of getting to the route of this "issue", ..
In fact I will try anything, I have tried a fresh install of firefox, this has not worked, however the "feature" I am trying to describe still works under safe mode, which means I think that there has to be something that is incorrect in my config.
Thank you all in advance for any pointers tips... and possible resolve offered.

Hi ScoobTheNoob,
I am bad a rhyming, but Safe Mode essentially only disables add ons. I would disable them one by one to find the culprit.

• When left click drop down arrow and other items, dialog box constantly pops up instead of performing action. how can I turn it off, or must I uninstll mozilla?

When using mozilla for web searches, each time I click to correct a word or grammar a dialog box constantly comes up like a right click box asking if want to copy, cut correct spell etc. when I click to search at the magnifying glass another box keeps coming up. Seems like everything I left click when in mozilla springs up a dialog box. Pretty frustrating and does not happen when I use AOL search without mozilla. The right click box comes up as it should but need to lose this left click box or firefox. I already checked mouse touch pad properties and made sure R click main.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on Help (or click on Help in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

• Itunes 10.5 Library, unable to left click on library

Updated to 10.5.  When I left click on Movies, Music etc, my cursor turns into a prevent sign.

I am getting the same thing. I can gain entry to folders to see what is in them if I right-click. I get the alternate pop-up menu with that click, but the content view will also change to show me what is in the folder. I can drag-drop to form playlists and select/de-select items as well. But left-click shows the no-entry sign and other functions that happen in the left view don't work. I can't rename playlists, for example. I have to right-click to delete, remake, and repopulate. My devices (iPhone 4, iPad2) sync just fine with changes in iTunes that I can make.
I left my system to churn for a while, thinking it wasn't completely finished with the updating process, but that didn't seem to effect any difference. (I also had a Windows 7 update that started while I was partway into the iTunes 10.5 download and update.) But I did a restart to take care of the Windows update (iTunes had finished by then) and one more after that for good measure. Both re-boots were fine and apps I tested, like iTunes, started without any issues, delays, or errors.
I just get this odd no-entry sign on items in the left-hand folder view and the blocks on some actions.

• IMovie, Quicktime and my desktop

How do i move an iMovie project from my desktop back into iMovie, then export it to my USB using quicktime? help please! my projects due tomorrow!! (:

First, right click on the project file on your desktop and click GET INFO. If it has an RCPROJECT file extension, you can move it back into iMovie by dragging it to the MOVIES/iMOVIE PROJECTS folder.
Then, open iMovie. You should see this project in the project library. You can use the SHARE menu to export a final movie.
If it is not an RCPROJECT file, tell us what it is.

Can`t left click and drag clip into timeline, or drag clips around in timeline.
Can insert into timeline from Source Window but can't drag from source window.
Can cut and paste within timeline.
Restarting cs5 doesn`t help, but restarting computer solves problem for a while.
Tried many mouses, but that didn`t help.

Thank you so much for asking
In the Project Panel a left click highlights the asset but ignores the drag.
In the timeline, a left click highlights the panel and when I try to drag it gives a flicker but that's all.
I can cut and paste in the timeline.
A restart of CS5 has no effect. Restarting the computer solves the problem for a while.
Four different mouses--same problem.

• Safari won't let me left click mouse and scroll down page

Safari won't let me left click on the mouse and scroll down the page, which I can do in Internet Explorer. That means I have to manually click on the scroll bar on the right side of the website.

Hopefully it's a cache issue not your Magic Mouse.
Quit Safari.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari.
This seems to be a "feature" of Safari
No.. it's not.

• Can't Left Click in Flash Player Settings Panel - HELP PLEASE

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this. Believe me it is a fraction of the time I have wasted trying to resolve this issue.
Basic problem is:
I am trying to stream to Ustream but since downloading AFP11 for my Windows PC when I open the Flash Player Settings panel i can't left click on anything. It is set to deny but I can't click allow, or close or any of the icons.
Right click does work.
I have followed countless instructions in other forums from other posts that have encountered the problem on Mac and older versions of AFP but as yet none of the solutions have proven succesul.
I have tried all of the following but nothing has resolved the problem.
1. Uninstall and reinstall Adobe Flash Player (although this is impossible using Google Chrome) and restart computer.
2. Unistall flash and install older version. (made no difference on Google Chrome and on IE8 had no flash whatsoever).
5. Uninstall older AFP and reinstall AFP11.
4. Uninstall Google Chrome and restart computer.
5. Uninstall QuickTime (I got this off http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/flash-player-not-working-properly-please-help-1 61552.html) and restart computer
6. Last resort use keyboard shortcuts such as tab, enter and ctrl+arrows. This either didn't highlight the panel at all or if it did I still couln't select allow, or close the panel itself so was no help either.
So now I'm back to square one.
Now here's a really bizarre thing... I am using a shared laptop computer and if I use my colleagues profile where she hasn't updated her AFP to Adobe Flash Player 11 the settings panel is responding just fine. IT'S THE SAME PC!
I know I am alone with this problem but someone out there has an answer. If you can help please let me know how to fix this problem where I can't left click in the Adobe Flash Player settings panel.and I will be eternily grateful.
many thanks
nik

OK the amount I hate myself right now is more than a fat guy's self loathing for raiding the fridge at 2am for Pizza but less than an armed robber who's accidentally shot a pregnant woman in the stomach during a shootout. but not much less.
So after I had miraculously got the Flash Player Setting Panel to work again, (after deleting QuickTime and leaving the window open for abut an hour it just started working again) I then got enticed into downloading the ustream producer software.
While downloading it informed me that it would only work with QuickTime.
Stupidly and Optimistically hoping it would remove the need to use flash player altogether I downloaded and installed both.
I then discovered to my horror that Ustream producer is not a patch on Vidbalster and that it was not capable of delivering the same level of broadcast.
I then opened the flash player settings panel on ustream and... the problem has returned!
This means I am 99% sure that QuickTime IS the cause of the problem so I have uninstalled QT off the PC. I have also uninstalled Ustream Producer.
The thing is though, now no matter how many times I restart, or uninstall and reinstall Adobe, or Google Chrome, I am once again UNABLE TO LEFT CLICK IN THE FLASH PLAYER SETTINGS PANEL. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
What did I do? I fixed it and  f***ing broke it again!
Now it properly will not come back to life! the problem is not solved and i urgently need help.
Why does Adobe Flash Player Settings Panel and Apple QuickTime hate each other so much that they've got to ruin my life?
Help forum PLEASE!
Regards,
nik

I have tried almost everything, I uninstalled it, I have deleted all files, but nothing changed after the installation. I use Win7 64bit operating system.

I'm not sure I've ever seen the problem report format from a Hungarian localisation of Windows before.
I think we should follow up on the iTunes problem report:
Hiba – modul neve: icuin40.dll
Hiba – modul verziója: 4.0.0.32
icuin40.dll is an Apple Application Support dll. Since both QuickTime and iTunes require a properly functioning Apple Application Support in order to work correctly, it's quite possible that a damaged Apple Application Support is causing both problems.
So, I think we should try uninstalling both QuickTime and Apple Application Support, and then reinstalling QuickTime (which should also reinstall Apple Application Support). We'll take a few other explicit precautions along the way, just in case. Best to print these instructions out because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
Preliminaries
Download and save a copy of the QuickTimeInstaller.exe (installer) file from the following web page. Get the installer that doesn't mention iTunes. Don't run the install online, and don't start the install just yet.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Quit Safari and/or the MobileMe control panel if you have them installed and open. Both use Apple Application Support and will interfere with the uninstall if they are running.
*Uninstall phase*
Go into your Uninstall a Program control panel. Uninstall QuickTime. Uninstall Apple Application Support.
(From this point onwards Safari and/or the MobileMe control panel will not run until we reinstall Apple Application Support.)
Next we'll remove any leftover program files. (Fingers crossed, these various folder have the same names on a Hungarian localisation of Windows.)
In Computer, open Local Disk C: or whichever drive your program files are installed on.
Open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
Right-click on the "QuickTime" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
*Staying in "Program Files (x86)",* open the "Common Files" folder.
Open the "Apple" folder.
Right-click on the "Apple Application Support" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Go back into Local Disk C: or whichever drive your operating system is installed on.
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
Right-click on the QuickTime and QuickTimeVR files (if they still exist) and select "Delete".
Empty your Recycle bin.
*Reinstall phase*
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts, you'll probably see a message saying that iTunes can not run. Click through the message.
Do not open any applications after the PC restarts. Disconnect from the internet and/or your network. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the reinstall by doubleclicking the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to the internet and/or your network.
Did the reinstall go through okay? If so, do iTunes and QuickTime start launching properly again?

• Extremely slow download time for quicktime and itunes

When clicking to download quicktime and itunes, I get a message saying it will take 10h 10mins to download, even though its only 36MB! I've been trying for a few hours to download from different sites, deleting the old quicktime from the comp and restarting, but to no avail. Does anyone know what causes this problem or how to fix it? All other sites and downloads are working as quickly as usual.
Cheers!

It's not fair for Apple to produce a 5gb upgrade with no option to get it on CD instead of download.  Obviously their own servers cannot handle the demand.  The blogs are littered with complaints - not just one ISP but many.
By the way, apple - did you know that many of your customers have monthly download limits from their ISP?  They're probably going to pay more for the overages than they would have for a CD with the update on it.
Please change this for the next update.

• Touchpad not working, left click acting like right

Hi - I apologize if this was already asked, but I couldn't find it. I have a G Series laptop (I'm at work so I don't have the specifics on me) and as of Friday night, out of nowhere, the touchpad stopped functioning properly. All clicks responded as if I had was right clicking. Needless to say, this was annoying. I tested all of my touchpad settings, uninstalled and reinstalled, tried new drivers, rolled back drivers, system restore, etc. and nothing worked. When I plug in a USB mouse, it still works perfectly, if that helps at all. But whenever I used the left click below the touchpad, it acts as a right click (however, the touchclick, or whatever it's called on the touchpad still works as a left click). I called and was given the advice you might expect...hard reset followed by a system recovery if that didn't work. The hard reset didn't work (big surprise), and I really don't want to lose my stuff; since I can still use the USB mouse, it's not the absolute end of the world. But I'm still irritated by it. It's a month away from the warranty being over, so I need to get moving on this. But I don't know how helpful HP is going to be with this (judging by their first bits of advice, not very). Any suggestions? This literally happened out of nowhere. I seem to remember this happening sometimes on my desktop, but that always managed to remedy itself by clicking some buttons, shutting down, etc. This time, that's not doing the trick. I'd appreciate any insight or help into this issue. Thanks very much!

Had the same problem, what I did works just as well but it's an adjustment. Go to touchpad settings (under 'Synaptics Touchpad v6.5')then click on buttons, manual for right mouse Instead of the normal right button setting, I switched it to button completely disabled.  Now your mousepad only recognises left clicking and if you want to use the right mouse button, you lick once with the touchpad on the item you want, then click the button on the right of 'alt gr' (on the left of 'ctrl')this has the same ability. Inias

• Unable to capture in FCP, Quicktime and iMovie, camera not recognized.

I am unable to capture in FCP, Quicktime and iMovie.
I have been dealing with this problem for quite a while now, and I think I have tried everything posted on these forums regarding this issue. I have been to the Quicktime, iMovie, and this FCP forum looking for the solution. Hopefully someone has a suggestion that I have missed or have not tried yet. I have a Powerbook G4 running OSX Tiger 10.4. I am running Quicktime 7.04, and FCP 4.5.
My problem is this… I am unable to capture from my Canon ZR-200 Mini DV camera, using Final Cut Pro, iMovie and also Quicktime. FCP says no camera recognized. iMovie says no camera attached, and Quicktime says no recording device found. In FCP, I am using the Firewire Basic setting, and NTSC DV settings. I have captured in FCP with the same camera several times in the past. I think the problem started when I upgraded to OSX 10.4, or one of the Quicktime upgrades.
Here are the details…
- Camera is connect via Firewire. I have tried the built in ports, as well as a Firewire Carbus card.
- OSX recognizes the Canon ZR-200 in the System Profiler, so I know the computer sees the camera.
- I have tried the camera on a Windows XP machine, and capture works perfectly, so I know the camera is functioning properly in VTR mode.
- Deleted my FCP pref’s using FCP Rescue.
- Deleted the Quicktime receipts, and re-installed Quicktime 7.04
- Reverted back to Quicktime 7.01
- Set the audio to 44.1 in the the Audio MIDI setup in the Utilities folder
- Tried the “GarageBand” fix, opening the programing, playing a few notes and closing.
- I have installed Quicktime using the program “Yank” to completely delete Quicktime and re-install.
I may have tried more solutions, but these are the fixes that I can recall.
If anyone has any others suggestions, it would be much appreciated.
Brent

Hi Brent:
Although it looks as if you have tried all of the 'fixes' that are normally suggested here, please read through this Apple Article to see if some obscure thing applies to you.

• Why does my 2012 Retina Macbook Pro's trackpad become extremely unresponsive after I plug in a USB mouse? The only trackpad command that works is the left click, I can't select text or press down and hold the trackpad to do anything else until I restart.

My trackpad becomes REALLY unresponsive after I plug in a USB mouse. It seems like the cursor is broken and stuck on a permanent left click or something. I'm unable to select text or do any other sort of action that requires you to hold down the trackpad and drag. Mouse icons don't update as I scroll over different text and links. The trackpad is usually stuck in this unresponsive state until I restart my macbook which is extremely inconvenient if I have to do this after every time I use a USB mouse. Are there any fixes to this?

Melophage,
I don't leave it outside. Usually when I leave it overnight, I do so under the same conditions as when I leave it plugged in, and this morning I only left it for about an hour in my house and it did the same thing.
LowLuster,
I actually have a new hard drive I bought a while back and have been meaning to switch it out with the one that's in there now. I'll follow your instruction, then make the switch I had planned on and report back.
