Unable to link Dell laptop to WRT54GS or WRE54G

Had no problems until yesterday when my XP laptop stopped linking with the WRE54G. Tried the various way to resolve unsuccessful Now the laptop will not link with the wireless router. Even tried to setup the link with the software and the online download option. The icon says I have a Syslink link with good strength but when I try to link to the web, I have no connection. If I plug the cable in the computer, I am back on the net. So my Dell will not link with the wireless router WRT54GS. Any ideas ?

I had the same problem with my Dell 9300. Everything was fine until 2 days ago. I have strong signal strength, but I can not connect to the router. I contacted Linksys and spent 30 minutes on the phone with Support. The lady thought she had the problem fixed when we hung up. Five minutes later my wife tried to use the internet and we had not connection. Now I am stuck using a wired connection.
I hope someone can help.

I'm trying to connect a Dell Laptop (Inspiron 2500) running on Windows XP to an existing and functionning Airport Express wireless network set up for my girlfriend's iBook. It works perfectly for the iBook.
I have outfitted the Dell with a D-Link wireless G USB adapter and I see the network (i have the password) and it says I am connected to the network (even says connection is very good).
However, when I open the internet browser, nothing.
The network set up is: Cable to RCA Digital modem (model DCM425) to Airport Express (via ethernet) and to computer.
I have tried playing around with the Dell Laptop settings (IP, DSN, etc ...) and I have called everyone involved (including Apple) to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

WEP is enabled. As far as the encryption, I'm not sure. I believe that it's 64-bit, as the password for the network is a five-letter word.
The funny thing, though, is that I had been using an IP address which I found on my girlfriend's Ibook, which allowed me to connect to her AEBS network, although the internet browser showed no connection.
Following directions from somebody else, I removed the IP address to enable DHCP, and then I was able to connect to other networks in the area (and the browser also connected to the internet) but I couldn't get onto her network anymore. Even with the password ...
Any ideas?
If i'm supposed to upgrade to 128-bit, how should I go about doing that?

What encryption are you using?
Do you have WEP enabled?

I am unable to install itunes 10.4.1 on my dell laptop windows 7 64 bit:
i have tried to install itunes on my windows 7 64 bit dell laptop, and everytime it says installation successfully installed, but i can't find the files anywhere in the computer, i searched all the locations, desktop ... but nothing found.
Troubleshooting Done:
- Tried different itunes versions; didnt work.
- Tried to install on different locations on my computer.. C:, D:... didnt work.
- I empty Temp files from all users on my computers who are (Me & Admin) only; didnt work.
- i removed all related apple files; same.
- Uninstall all apple related support ... etc..; didnt work.
- I have Admin access to all my files and also tried to install from Admin account; didnt work.
I don't know what else i can do, please advise me on how to fix it, i need to backup my iphone & ipad ASAP.

Tried your advise but that too failed. Problem still continues. Again that same error "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".

Unable to connect iPhone5 to Dell Laptop

Does the OS see the iPad at all? In other words does it show up in either the My Computer or Device Manager?
I've had problems in the past where I had to modify the registry to get my son's iPod to sync with a particular HP laptop.
If it doesn't show up at all have your tried using an external hub (with or without power)?

WRT54GS / Dell laptop compatability problem

Model WRT54GS This router has worked perfectly for over a year but recently my Dell laptop does not pick up the WiFi signal until the following is carried out- Start-run-services.mscWireless zero config(service status is always stopped) start service status start-control panel-network connections-right click wireless network-propertiesI have to tick the “use windows for wireless network” then remove the displayed network “Raymond” from the box. It is because you are having any wireless utility other than Windows(WZC) to connect the network on your laptop.You have to use the utility to connect your wireless network.As you have a dell laptop, you might have the dell utility installed on your computer... Unable to have my dell laptop and a Nook Reader access my Apple Extreme Guest network

I have an AE base station (DHCP) to which my Dell desktop (windows Vista) is connected wirelessly via guest network (WPA2). However, both my newer dell laptop (Windows 7) and a Nook Reader cannot. They both see the guest network in the list of available networks but somehow they cannot access the guest network. I have an Imac and an ipad that use the primary network with no problem. Is there a specific setting I have to have on the AE base station? Thanks, any help would be appreciated!

Have you gone into the Iphone extreme app and set up a passcode for the guest network AND also set it up as a WPA2 encription. I beleive BOTH the main passcode and guestpasscode have to be the same security setting ( WPA/WPA2 personal OR just WPA2 personal.

HT3204 Unable to connect a Windows 7 Dell laptop to iTunes store.

Running Windows 7 on Dell laptop. iTunes will not connect to store. Merely says connecting... but nothing happens. I see a white screen saying iTunes Store. Does not work even when I shut down the Vipre firewall. Note that my wife's PC on same cisco router at home connects to the store using both her and my apple id's.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Does the webcam work on other software? If the issue is seen only in Skype, reinstall it.
If you're unable to get the webcam working using the Dell Webcam Central as well, check in Device Manager and confirm if the driver is installed correctly.

How do I import my folders of bookmarks created on a Dell laptop to an Apple iMac and clean up the mess I've created trying to create a new set of folders and bookmarks on the iMac?

I have been unable to find and import from the version of Firefox on my Dell laptop to an Apple iMac the folders containing bookmarked website addresses. In the process, I've created a mishmash of unwanted bookmarks. Please provide me a step by step process to import the folders to the version of Firefox on the iMac. The process to accomplish this seems very awkward and counter-intuitive. The same goes for creating new folders and bookmarking website addresses to those folders on the version of Firefox installed on the iMac.

Thanks for the tip about the Firefox Sync feature. A friend and I managed to use the Sync feature to "transfer" the folders of Bookmarked website addresses from the Dell to the iMac. We found that shutting off and rebooting the receiving iMac computer was necessary for all the folders to transfer over. Also, the entire process would have gone more smoothly had we had separate internet connections for the two computers, but we managed to shift our single internet connection between the computers as the Sync process progressed through its steps. Definitely a learning process.

I am using a dell laptop running windows 7 and have tried changing the file location to run the update in all of my iTunes files as well as when I've tried reinstalling it.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

I don't know what video card you have, but I just downloaded this porting kit for solaris8 intel. It work perfectly on my desktop Dell 4100. I think it will also work for the dell laptop. The porting kit is NOT XFree86; it only make use of the xfree86 drivers for solaris.

I also have Opensolaris on my laptop that is able to connect to internet using any available wireless because of its auto settings.
