If you are running a version of iTunes older than iTunes 6.0.4, the first thing to do is update to 6.0.4. Choose About iTunes from the Help menu in iTunes. If you are already at 6.0.4, or if updating does not help, the next thing to try is to deauthorize your computer for the iTMS account using the Deauthorize Computer option in the Help menu. Then play of the iTMS songs and re-enter your authorization info.

  • I'm unable to redownload my purchased music

I'm unable to redownload my purchased music.  Purchased music in the store shows downloaded not the cloud and it's not on my machine.  I accidentally trashed it and emptied the trash.  I use OSX Lion

If you deleted the files from the Finder, and not from in iTunes then you need to also delete the tracks from iTunes. After doing so the tracks in the purchase history will be downloadable.

  • Why am I forced to be connected to internet in order to listen to purchased music with iTunes on iPad? I have wifi only iPad.

I tried listening to my music with my wi-fi only ipad on iTunes while driving my car. iTunes said I needed to be connected to the Internet in order to find the iTunes store. I don't want the iTunes store, I just want to listen to my music on iPad. Can I bypass the need to be connected and just get to the music? If not..... WHY NOT????

You don't need the internet to listen to your music. You're probably trying to access the iTunes store app, you need to go to the iPod app, and that is where your music will be if you have synced it over from your computer or purchased it directly.

  • Cannot Listen To Purchased Music?

Hi, my iphone is not letting me listen to any of my purchased music ever since the last sync. I click the track, but nothing plays? How do i fix this?

Ya, it could be that. Do a restore, and don't try to prematurely cancel a sync using the iPhone, especially by unplugging it. Safest way would be to just let it finish or cancel it using iTunes. When you slide the unlock bar to cancel the sync, many problems occur, and the phone usually won't sync until you do a restore.

Also, i have tried using the purchased tab but only the 2 newest purchases are there, which i have already synced. All of my previously purchased music from earlier this year is no where to be found. Anyone please help!

  • Unable to listen to bought music!!

We updated to itunes 7 then sucessfully managed to re install itune 6 and get our tunes back, but now we cant listen to the bought music or listen to tunes when in the music store - it comes up with sucessfull authorisation after typing password then immediatly comes up with 'unknown error (-208)'. We can buy tunes from the music store but they then wont update on the ipods!
Hopefully someone may be able to help us..please???!!!

Apple knows that unless they fix this problem, and I have it too, that we won't be purchasing any more music from them. I'm sure that PC users comprise a greater share of their customers than Mac users. I won't buy another song until they fix the problems. Hopefully you backed up your songs onto another drive. If they are on an IPOD is suggest you don't connect it to the new version until they get it debugged.

  • HT1386 ipod continues to ask for internet connection to listen to purchased music

When walking, I continuously receive a message stating that i must be connected to the internet to listen to music I purchased, even though I have downloaded the song. Why?

Because you have not fully downloaded the music. With wifi available, delete and redownload.

  • Listening to purchased music on computer??

When I click on songs I previously have purchased in my library it tells me to authorize my computer. I have done that but the pop up still comes up every time and won't allow me to listen to music. Any ideas?

Alright I have done some work to see if I could better present my problem. I checked the multiple authorization thing, and that was not it. A few months ago I got a new computer and many of the itunes problems were still not reconciled from copying my old music back to the hard drive. But I am still having a problem with two songs, both of which I bought from itunes. When I click on them from itunes the error message I get says, "This computer is not authorized to play 'name of song' Would you like to authorize it?" in small writing below on the error it says, "To play this song you must authorize this computer to play songs purchased using the account 'cjfunkhouser'. You may authorize up to 5 computers for each account." My account is already authorized, but it is authorized under the accounnt [email protected] not just cjfunkhouser if that makes a difference.
    thanks for any further help

  • Unable to load/play purchased music in iTunes

I upgraded to iTunes 7, everything is working great. Today I purchased some songs. They successfully downloaded, and I was able to upload them onto my iPod, where they play just fine. Unfortunately iTunes will NOT play them. The summary tab of "get info" does not contain any of the itunes specific information (purchased by, fairplay version, purchase date, account name, etc...)
I have deauthorized and reauthorized the computer, did not help. When I try to add the file to the iTunes library it fails without giving an error.
Any help would be greatly appriecated!

I'm having this same issue - unable to play any music that I have downloaded from ITMS. I'm asked to authorize my computer, which I do.. I'm told that my computer has been successfully authorized. But when I try to play any song, I'm asked again to authorize my computer - and the cycle starts all over again.
I have yet to see a post with any sort of attempt at resolving this issue, but I know a lot of people are having it. I emailed tech support, and (surprise, surprise) never heard back.

  • Listen to purchased music on new computer

I had a mac but something happened to it and wont start up. I also have a Dell that has iTunes but i never put the music on that one, w/ no iPod, is there anyway to listen to music that i have already purchased (on mac) on my new computer.
      Windows XP

You can only download a purchase from the iTunes Store once, so you'd have to copy the music from backups or from directly your Mac. If it can't boot, then you'd have to pull the hard drive out of your Mac (presuming the drive still works), mount it in an external USB case, purchase one of the utilities that allow a Windows system to mount a Mac-formatted drive, and copy your music from the Mac's drive to the PC.

  • Unable to download newly purchased music

The last two albums I have purchased on iTunes have refused to download. I keep getting errors stating that the song is unable to download at this time. I have tried rebooting, resetting network settings and a full restore( which is annoying in itself)
This is starting to get extremely frustrating. Being an iPhone owner for 5 years now I have experienced just about every problem you can think of but this one has got me considering other products. Apple prides itself on ease of use but nothing lately has been easy to use. Please help.

I have a brand new 4S and it gives me that same message (unable to download at this time" with new purchases and old ones I synced up from an old phone.  Did you guys figure it out yet?  Thanks.

  • HT201269 I am unable to download previously purchased music through iTunes to my new phone. What gives?

I tried re-purchasing the album, and it gives me the option in the music player, but iTunes has the same album grayed out. Getting really frustrated here!

    Hey innerev2003,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

  • HT204053 unable to downloand previous purchased music on my iphone

I am unable to download my previous purchased songs from Itunes to my Iphone. The only time I can view my purchases from my libray is through my wireless.  When I disconnect my library the songs on my phone are no longer available.  My cloud services are activiated.

Are you logged into the iTunes store on your computer with same account you bought the songs under (eg: on computer access iTunes store, do you see your account info up top in the right?)
If you are logged in, have you tried the Transfer Purchased Content from the File menu?
