Unable to locate damaged .plist file

After running DiskWarrior I received the message "Detected that Property List data is damaged and cannot be repaired. File: "RTMediaData599.plist" Location: "Macintosh HD/Users/trevorhogg/Public/"
When I go to the "Public" folder there is nothing there and when I search in the finder for this particular file it doesn't appear. Is there any way to locate this file so I can delete it?

Using the search criteria in the Find dialog, select Visibility is Off (invisible) or Visibility is Any (visible or invisible). To use the Toolbar Search for searching an invisible folder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu to select the folder, then search it.+

If they were songs you purchased from itunes, try redownloading them from your purchases...
if that doednt work, make sure the optuon to copy files to itunes media folder is checked in settings, then find and download from the net. and re-add them to your library

Damaged plist Files

I recently installed Lion and all seems to be running well (other than 1Password, but that's another story). But just for kicks, I ran a few tests in DiskTools Pro to see if there were any problems, and I found 6 damaged plist files show below. Being somewhat technically challenged, I am not comfortable trying to edit these files. So I am wondering if these files need be corrected in the first place (i.e. are they critical)? Further, it is my understanding that they can be moved to the trash from Finder and that, upon restart, they will be recreated. Is this so, and are there any significant risks? I guess my real question is how should I proceed? Thanks for any info!

As long as the associated apps work ok, don't worry about it. If not, and they're in a Preferences folder, yes, you can just delete them and they'll be created. (Some other files with .plist extensions are in other folders; don't touch them.)
Apple has defined a couple of formats for plists; all Apple apps are supposed to use them, and Apple recommends that 3rd-party apps use them, too.
All your app is doing is checking to see if those files meet the criteria; it doesn't necessarily mean anything is actually wrong with them.

Unable to locate unrestricted policy files for the Sun JCE for download

Oracle JRockit(R) (build R28.1.4-7-144370-1.6.0_26-20110617-2130-windows-x86_64, compiled mode)
I am unable to locate the Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction JCE files.
According to BouncyCastle for Java 1.6:
..."you must download the unrestricted policy files for the Sun JCE if you want the provider to work properly. The policy files can be found at the same place as the JDK download. Further information on this can be found in the Sun documentation on the JCE."

The version at the very bottom of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html should work.

Unable to locate "Find a file box" under SharePoint 2013 Directory

Dear All,
I am unable to locate the Find a file box in SharePoint Foundation 2013, With reference of another similar post i tried to find the upgrades available with foundation 2013 but i did not find any available updates in Foundation 2013 Central Administration.
Can any one please inform me how can I enable this find a file box?

That functionality isn't available in Foundation. You have to have SharePoint Server. Not sure why it isn't in Foundation, but I've checked in the past and its not available and there is no way to turn it on.

Unable to locate itunes.msi file

I am trying to upgrade my iTunes to iTunes 10 and it keeps telling me it is unable to locate the iTunes.msi file. I read the previous posts but the windows installer cleanup utility tool is no longer available to download. I have tried to delete all aspects of iTunes and its programs, plus the recycle bin but it still won't work. Any ideas?

Yes, that's the main trouble with .msi errors nowadays. First we have to try to hunt down a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try reinstalling iTunes again. Does the install go through properly this time? If so, are you able to launch iTunes without the error message?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

Why is my Windows 8 computer unable to locate my music files?

My itunes are in the cloud. My ipad and iphone pull all songs from the cloud as did my old Vista computer. My new Windows 8 computer does not recognize that my music files are in the cloud. When attempting to play a song, a window will pop up saying " The song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" Song files were also transferred over and it is unable to locate those as well. This is a problem for another computer user because her songs are not in the cloud.

If the media is in the cloud then it is not synced to any devices.
It cannot be both ways.
Was the media moved from the old computer to the new computer? Installing iTunes does not cause this to magically happen.

Thank you for your prompt response - I did as you said and did a drag and drop into the iTunes window - it imported and got my album art from the net. When I started Itunes with the shift key down I was prompted to choose a library but since I copied over the media folder and not the library folder I was unable to select that so I guess I will have to create a new library and add in all the music, videos, etc. unless I wait for my laptop and export the library or at least that seems to be the case? In short, all my data (iTunes media folder) is on my external drive and can be added to the blank iTunes screen but I can not choose a library folder. Is there anyway around completely making all those playlists again? I am not sure my laptop will survive the shop with data intact and really hate to start over on those.
In an unrelated question - I collect old TV shows from the 1950's. Can I make playlists within the home video folder somehow? In other words like one for Quiz shows, one for comedies, one for police and detective shows, etc. while I am remaking all my playlists for my music if I end up having to go that route?

Integration Builder unable to locate XI content files

I am trying to import RosettaNet XI business package. I copied the package to:
D:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import\
But when I click on Tools > Import design objects it is unable to find the object. Few weeks ago I successfully import SCM and Basis business content.

The business package for Rosettanet is not there anymore at marketplace -> software download ->Downloads -> Installations and Upgrades -> Entry by Application Group ->SAP Industry-specific Components -> SAP Business Package for RoesttaNet -> SAP BP for RoesettaNet 1.0
The Installation Guide on Business Packages for Rosettanet says go and get it from the above locations. The SAP Business Package for RoesettaNet is not listed under SAP Industry-specific components. Am I blind ;-(
Does any one already download RosettanNet 1.0 and RosettanNet 3.0 business packages? If so please email it to me at [email protected]

Thunderbird says "Unable to locate mail spool file."

I am trying to use Thunderbird to get gmail. First attempts failed but going to gmail (webmail) I find Thunderbird is a "less secure APP". Set Gmail to work with "less secure APP" but now I get "thunderbird cannot locate spool file" I deleted Thunderbird and reinstalled it . Now I still get "Thunderbird cannot locate spool file"
Any advice gratefully received!

Unable to locate any old files after putting in hard drive enclosure

Hello,
I dropped my old macbook over the weekend. When I took it the Genius Bar, the tech said the hard drive looked fine (or didn't detect any issues) and recommended using an enclosure to recovery my file.
So after getting the correct one, a rocketfish 2.5 SATA, hooking it up to my imac in attempt to recover files, i see the folder named applications, etc, and i see a user folder, and withint the user folder, a folder with my user name, but it's completely empty! the folder named Shared is also empty. Absolutely nothing this there.
I've looked in lots of places where my files, such as excel, itunes music, word docs, etc might be....but have no luck.
worse yet, it seems that now my imac isn't even reading the enclosure with the old hd!
Thoughts regarding the missing files? Am i missing something? Could someone theoretically have "copied" the files from the old hard drive if i was not looking?? Thanks in advance!!

I dropped my old macbook over the weekend. it accidentally fell from my bed onto hardwood floor. and when i picked it up- the screen basically looked very distorted and unrecognizable. although you could not see any physical cracks whatsoever after i turned it off/trying to reboot, when i tried to turn it back on, you could hear it try to boot up (the start up sound, no problems). but the screen look like a cross between kalediscope and a inkblot test. So i took it to the genius bar to see what could be done and how much it would cost to replace the screen, and it wasn't actually too bad ~$250+. but since it was a bit older and i have my imac anyhow, i declined the replacement. He ran some other diagnostics and didn't detect any problems with the hard drive. He said though that even with the replacement of the screen, there is no guarantee that there aren't other problems elsewhere. When I asked how i can recover the files, the tech from the genius indicated they couldn't do data/file recovery but recommended getting an enclosure instead to transfer to my imac. (OS x10.5.8).
So i went and got the correct enclosure (rocketfish), put the old hard drive from the macbook it in....I have so far only been able to have my imac to read the folders listed above once. The applications etc were there but none of my files existed. I did not have any problems with the hard drive prior to the fall. It just seems so strange that applications would be there, but not my files!
Now-my imac is not even reading the enclosue at all!

is it looking for my sql.ini file?
i have one in the directory where the sybase pc client was installed (C:\Sybase\Ini\sql.ini).
i don't know why the OMWB tool isn't finding it.
