Unable to log in from different network same domain.

Hi, I am having difficulties with sharepoint at a different location.
Our main site and network that our sharepoint server is on, is 10.1.0.1
Our second site is part of our domain, and has its own DC with the ip 10.2.1.1
Our main site and second site are connected through VPN.
Our users at our second site can't log into sharepoint. They will browse to
http://intranet and the windows security window asks for credentials. Users will enter their credentials but it will not accept them and keeps asking for them. They do not receive any error messages, just a blank screen.
I have also tried adjusting the "trusted sites" options with NO SUCCESS. As well as clearing the "Enable Integrated Windows Authentication" option under advance in internet options.

So we have two domains, DomainA and DomainB.
You have tested your DomainA user account, which works fine from Site A, on Site B and it fails. All users from Site B also fail to authenticate.
Can you test a user from DomainB on a machine in Site A?
Are you able to add users from Domain B to your SharePoint sites through the people picker? That will confirm that you have AD connectivity between your SharePoint farm and the Domain B ADDS servers.
Next time you test the login process from Domain B use a hosts file to bypass any load balancers and target a single server, then make a note of the time. That will help you to try to identify the login requests in both the windows event logs and the
SharePoint ULS logs.
From first impressions this sounds like an inability to authenticate from their network rather than a domain trust issue, although that may still be possible.

Problem using Tuxedo from different network

We are using Tuxedo (7.1) with Clarify eFrontOffice.
We are trying to access Tuxedo from a different network. We have a NAT address and opened the port for WSL (48800) and also a range (specified in the ubbconfig and compiled) specified for the WSH. When the Clarify client is started, it is connecting to the WSL on port 48800. When tuxedo returns the WSH port to the Client, it is also returning the IP of the server. Since the IP is not recognized in the 2nd network the communication is failing. Is there a way to retun server name instead of IP or a different IP?

When using Network Address Translation with /WS you should specify the -H
option to WSL (after the -- option) so that the address of the WSH can be
mapped back to an address that the client will understand. A bug related to
the WSL -- -H option was fixed at Tuxedo 7.1 rolling patch level 165, so you
should obtain the latest 7.1 rolling patch if you are running at an earlier
patch level.

Specifies the complete network address to be used as a well known address
template of the WSH process. The address will be combined with a WSH network

Unable to load swf from different domain through html wrapper in Chrom

Hi All,
I am trying a embed a swf from different domain. My html wrapper was in one domain and swf was in another domain. I have embedded the swf into the html wrapper. When i run the html file it is loading the swf in firefox and working fine. But when i try to run the same html in chrom or IE the swf is aborted. I have crossdomain.xml file in both the servers which is also allowing both the domains. I was not able to figure out the issue. Can anybody help on this.

At a new company and they have Active/Passive model with Different Name spaces almost identical to the example below. I would like to convert it to a Active/Passive model with the Same Name spaces. Other than changing DNS, the certificates,
and the name spaces on the passive site are there any other considerations I need to be aware of?

Based on my knowledge, if you want to change from different namespace to single namespace, you need to change two things, DNS records and certificates, as you mentioned above.

Unable to obtain 4G from my network with the Z10

I recently purchased my z10 from verizon in the United States unlocked. When i inserted the sim card of my local network (4G plan) i was only able to identify an 'E' in the upper right hand corner of the screen. After speaking with my network provider their agent said that it was the phone or a possible setting which i needed to make because after trying the same sim card in one of their own phones they observed the '4G' on the screen.
please advise......

Your issue may actually be worse...there are 4 different Z10 models, each with different capabilities...refer:

If the device you have does not support the 4G bands of the network you are attempting to operate it on, then that would of course fully explain the problem.

Unable to Open Project from a Networked computer

Hi All
We have just recently installed Robohelp V6 on a computer in
the office and after making sure that RoboSource is connected and
visible, I have come to my desktop machine and made sure that
1. I could connect to the Robohelp "Server"
2. that I could map to the drive that the project file
resided
3. that I could ping the "server" computer
All appears to be fine, except that when I try to open the
Project file from the "MAPPED" drive, I get the following error
msg:
"OPEN PROJECT WAS CANCELLED OR THE APPLICATION WAS UNABLE TO
LOAD THE DATABASE FOR: T:\Content\Grail2Aug07Help.cpd"
It is the Project file
grail2aug07help.xpj that I am trying to open.
The project WAS currently opened and in use my another person
on the "server" computer, so I wonder if this is the reason for the
message.??? If I cannot get the project opened. how do I then make
sure that files that I want to alter are "Checked In/Out" by me and
are also seen, by other users as being CHECKED OUT...??

Your project should live on a local drive (e.g., the My
Documents folder on your PC). Version control can live on a mapped

Unable to view website from within network - OSX Server

I have recently set up a Mac mini server in my home. I have configured the DNS settings manually by creating a primary zone being my domain and then a machine record (A Record) in order to configure the right host name. I've checked this the usual way in terminal and it returns success.
Before I go ahead and configure my mail, I noticed that I was unable to view my website. From within my network on any device.
NB. My website is hosted externally with a third party.
I have Mac Mini running Mavericks 10.9.1 and Server 3.0.2, I'm using a 2TB Time Capsule as the router which plugs directly into my fibre modem. Ports are opened correctly as I have done this through the Server App panel where I can see my Time Capsule.
I've obtained the IP of the website and when I tried pinging it from terminal it cannot resolve. I've contacted Apple, and after 2 hours on the phone to them, I've been told it's out of the scope of their support.
If this is DNS, can someone help, because I'm pulling my hair out!

I have now figured this out!
After setting up the hostname in the Server app I auto created the DNS records.
I have removed them all, created a new zone, the zone being my domain name; I have then created a Machine (A) Record being my hostname; I have then created another ***BLANK*** Machine (A) Record being my domain, and hey presto, everything works perfectly.

Migrate switches from different networks to a single network

Hello, I have a question on migrating C3750 switches between networks.
Our current situation is that we have two networks.
We control the cores on both networks but do not controll all the edge devices on both networks.
We can not access the IOS and configuration on a number of switches because we don't have the login information for those.
In the future if we are to take control of those edge devices how can we modify the IOS and configuration settings for multiple switches at one time?
Within the core we can modify vlans, destroy and recreate to suit our purposes, so that's easy enough.
We would rather not have to visit each and every switch and do this manually as there are over 40 switches and only 2 admins.
Manually doing this requires using the password recovery option method to change the IOS.
Once done we should be able to update the config via CISCOWorks on all the devices,
Or we could do it the other way around and update the config and then update the IOS via CISCOWorks.
Our wish is to attempt to do both via CISCOWorks or some other automated method.

Understand the following basic relationship behind transporting chagnes using TMS
....Repository Objects ->are assigned to-> Package ->are assigned to->Single Transport Layer ->is assigned to-> Single Transport Route -> Target System.
The basic concept behind standard Transport Control is that every repository object in Source System (e.g Dev-System) is assigned (via a package) to a certain transport layer, it follows that a change request can only have one target system. So, you can transport change requests from multiple clients of Development System, which you can import into QUA system's clients upon release.
With the standard Transport control program, it is not possible to create two transport routes with the same transport layer from one SAP System. Thus, The extended Transport Control program is used for transporting the changes based on Client specific Transport Routes by using the concept of Transport Group. Using this, one can transport changes to multiple systems, multiple clients using the same transport layer.

CUPC - Unable to log in from Windows machine not on domain

Hi,
We are unable to login to CUPC (ver 8.5.3.192248) on a windows machine that is not on the domain, however connected to the network (e.g. we can ping CUPS IP and FQDN). We've tried pointing the client to the FQDN address as well as IP Address. We get "Login Failed" message (so no "Unable to connect to network" message). The user can log in just fine on a machine that is on the domain, so everything back end should be ok.

I am using version 8.5.5 and that works fine on a Windows 7 that is not in the domain.
The only thing I had to do was add the server name to the hosts file, I have both the server name and the FQDN as in
192.168.1.1 cups cups.mycompany.com
You can define the server by IP address but it seems to move internally to the server name and it needs to be able to map that to an IP address

Hello Community
    In a situation where 2 forests exists in a Windows 2008 Server
environment, there is Domain1 in forest1 and Domain2 in forest2.
    A one-way trust is established between forest1 and forest2.
    Forest1 has 8 domain controllers and where most of the user accounts reside.
    Forest2 has 2 domain controllers and has fewer user accounts.
    Forest1 is the "trusted" domain and all users have access to all resources
in Forest2.
    Forest2 is the "trusting" domain no users have access to the resources
in Forest1.
    The question is are the users from forest1 able to be logon to the network
by the domain controllers in forest2 as well as the domain controllers in their
own forest1?
    and are the user in forest2 only able to logon to the network strictly by
the domain controller in their own forest2?

Based on my experience, each domain user account can only exist in one domain. In these scenario, the DC can only login to the domain
which it exists. The users in forest1 can access resources located in forest2. However, the DCs in forest1 cannot login to forest2 and vice versa.

Macbooks unable to get DHCP from Wireless Network

Our PC Laptops can connect to our Cisco Wireless Network (using wireless controllers and lightweight AP's) without issue.
However Macbooks and several other devices are able to connect and get an IP address via DHCP. If I manually put an IP in the Macbooks wireless configuration it can connect without issue, if I don't do this the Macbooks timeout and say using self assigned ip address and will not get on the network.
Any thoughts on what is causing this and how to fix?

Can't send email from internal server, same domain name as external.

We have a domain "example.com", hosted externally, for email and a website. We are thinking of hosting email 'inhouse' and have setup a dedicated subdomain on a 'fixed' IP, "mini.example.com" for AFP services mainly. mini.example.com provides DNS internally, its primary zone is also example.com. All access to the external web goes thru' a modem/router that the server is connected to. We have to set an A record for www access to our website.
In our testing to migrate email, the internal setup works fine, until the switch over. Now we can receive mail to the mini server, but can't send any out.
We instructed our webhost provider to set the CNAME mail.example.com to point to mini.example.com and created a cPanel MX extry mail.example.com, 10 priority. Previously, the external host had CNAME as mail.example.com to example.com and MX as example.com, 10 priority.
Since the implementation of the CNAME change, we can't send emails out and they get stuck at the outbox waiting. Client Mail app, says to check for port and SSL and account settings.
Any idea where we went wrong here and what we can do to get emails out? We could go to each computer and point-off the DNS to office IP, but we rather not.

I got in this am to find Mail.app could actually send out emails and I'm stratching my head wondering what happened yesterday.
SMTP server addresss was manually set to mail.example.com for all accounts. In trying to get things to work, the mail setup was redone again by "Accounts", in Systems Preferences, when Login is clicked on, and mail was automatically given a SMTP as mini.example.com instead of mail.example.com. I'm guessing that that could be where the initial 'inside' problems were, given that it had a 0 answer to the MX query. Or then again I wasn't patient enough.
Just for completeness, and if there's something to learn from here, these are the dig results for example.com as seen from within the office network.
