Unable to Log out in Apple discussions

When I try to log out in Apple Discussions, I get an error message saying cannot find page. I have to shut down Safari to logout. I haven't had any problems before. I did have to change my Apple ID to be able to use my new iPod Touch recently so would that have made a difference, or is it something Apple Discussions has been experiencing lately?

I have also had some intermittent flakey behavior the past few days but have attributed it to using a Windows Vista machine a few times instead of the Apple equipment
Seriously, the problems I have seen have been more along the lines of not being able to just back up from the second page in a forum to the first page. Have to manually hit page 1 to get back. A few times, backing up has taken me to the login page...hit the back arrow again and revert to the master list. Just a little flakey lately and inconsistent.
Nothing disasterous, though, so I have just been living with it...may be due to very high usage, when the MBA was announced the system seemed to come to its knees...just way too many people logged in is my guess.

  • Cannot log in to Apple discussion forum

    Hello,
I can't log in to apple discussion forum with safari on my MacBook Pro. With my iPod touch I haven't any problems. Why is that so? What can I do?
have you got a solution for me??
PS: I am from germany, so please excuse bad English.
    Thanks

    What should i do there
    As mentioned above:
"If you do have any \[accented characters in your name\], change them to unaccented characters in the email section here: http://myinfo.apple.com "
The problem is connected to your first and last name associated with your AppleID, not the forum as such. In the 'email' section at the linked page you can change those.

  • Cannot log out of Apple Store

There doesn't seem to be an Apple Store discussions section, so given that it relates to my iPhone 4 order, I'll post here!
The following kb article explains that to protect your Apple ID you should log out when you finish:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4232
However, there appears to be no way to do this after logging into the Apple online store.

I wasn't able to find anyway to log out as well. I also search to internet and found people having the same problem. I'm using safari. I closed safari and cleared cookies. When I navigated back to store.apple.com, my login info was gone.

  • Hello .. how to log out from apple device wothout pc or pc with video steps

i want to log out from all Apple id on all apple device

    Hello there sarmad yasin,
It sounds like you are looking for a way to sign out of all your Apple devices in one go. While this is not a function currently avaiable, you can reset your Apple ID password to prevent access to your information:
Apple ID: Changing your password - Apple Support
Follow these steps to change your Apple ID password. If you can't remember your password, follow the steps for what to do if you forget your Apple ID password.
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Click “Manage your Apple ID” and sign in.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you're unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.
    Click "Password and Security".
In the "Choose a new password" section, click Change Password.
Enter your old password, then enter a new password and confirm the new password. Click Save when done.
The next time you use an Apple feature or service that uses Apple ID, you'll be asked to sign in with your new Apple ID password.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Log Out of Apple Website

Hi everyone, I'm new to mac and of course this forum.
After reading apple's tips for protecting your account, their first suggestion is:
"Always sign out after you have finished purchasing from any Apple website or service."
Well where do you log out? I've been searching everytime I log into my account and can't find it anywhere. I just end up closing the webpage to exit. When I asked that question to customer service after purchasing three mac products they didn't seem to have an answer. The logout is in plan site for this forum, why not the same for their website?
    thanks for any help,
    ome

I see what you mean. I went to the Apple store and ended up being logged out by just quiting my browser in it's menu.

  • Logging out of apple id w/o knowing password

I have two apple id's.  One of the id's is associated with an old, no longer active, email account.  This is the account that i am signed into on my iPhone.  However I want to use my most current apple id (i.e. one that has my current email address associated with it).  The dilemma I face is that when i try to sign out of my apple id on my phone that has the old email address; it asks for me to enter my password.  I don't recall that password and do not have it written down anywhere.  Then when I try to recall the password online, it asks for my birthday, but when i enter it i am notified what i entered is wrong (even though it is technically correct) - a myriad of issues, i know.  Furthermore, i cannot have apple send an email to reset the password to that email account because it was disabled because it was compromised.
With that said, how can log out of this id with out being able to reset, or remember the associated password?  Or is there a work around/solution I am overlooking

    Good day djevisuals,
So it sounds as if your issue can be addressed by getting the password to that Apple ID reset. You will then be able to sign out of that Apple ID on the iPhone and then enter your newer Apple ID, is that correct?
Please use the steps in this article to help you reset the Apple ID password -
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
It appears from your post you have already tried several of the options mentioned, and there is no need to attempt them again. Two possibilities remain, however -
    Use two-step verification
    Enter your Recovery Key.
Choose a trusted device. We'll send your device a verification code.
    Enter the verification code.
Set a new password and select Reset Password.
If you never set up two-step verification, go on to the next step -
    Get help
Make sure that you’re entering the correct Apple ID. In most cases, your Apple ID is also the primary email address of your Apple ID account. If these steps didn't help you change your password, contact Apple Support.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Auto-logging in to Apple Discussions

Is it possible to auto-login to Apple Discussions?
Each time I close my browser I always have to enter my password.
    THANKS

    Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Select the box next to: *User names and passwords*
Logout of AD, log back in. Enter your user name and password. You should be prompted to save that data to a new keychain in Keychain Access where your passwords are stored.
The next time you login to AD, you shouldn't have to enter your login information.

  • How to log out of apple store?

There is no log out button after visiting the Apple or MAC store.  Have i missed something?
    Thank you for any pointer.

I'll have to disagree that there is "no need to do that."
    Here's my situation:
I have a few different Apple IDs (for personal, for business).  I received an email telling me that there was updated information regarding the status and estimated shipping date for my Mac Pro order.  I clicked through to store.apple.com and entered my credentials to check the status of my order.  After signing in, I realized that I used the wrong Apple ID and I should have used a different one.  But...there is no way to sign out (that I can find).  And even if I close out that browser window and then re-visit the page, it keeps my logged in.  So, my concern isn't about someone being able to come along and purchase something because I'm perpetually logged in, my concern is that now I can't get to the information I need because I can't sign in with a different ID.
I'm going to try and quit my browser entirely now (which is a hassle for a handful of reasons); but I find it quite surprising that a) there is no clean or clear way to sign out and b) everyone seems to think there is no use case for signing out.  I can think of several, including my example above.

  • Unable to log out

The computer does not allow me to log out and then it freezes to the point nothing can open or be shut down.   I am using mountain lion.  When I open force quit only finder is open.  Any help would be great

Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash this file:
    com.apple.finder.plist
    Immediately test log out.

  • Unable to log out standard user

A standard user is logged in on my iMac.  I am unable to log him out because we forgot the password and there are no hints.  I signed in as administrator to the  Users & Groups to see if I could discover the password or reset it.  But, it appears that no changes can be made to a standard user account if the user is logged in.  Isn't there a way we can just delete the account?

    Restart the computer.

  • Unable to log on with apple ID - error message "an unknown error has occurred"

When I try and log on to apple website using my apple ID, I get an error message saying "an unknown error has occurred".  How can I fix this?
I've changed my password several times and was able to successfully make a purchase from Itunes using new password, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

For whatever reason, I can now log in to the apps store with one of  my ids. It says my other account no longer exists so I can not update pages and numbers. It will not let me rebuy these programs under the working account because my computer recognizes that I bought them before.

  • Logging in to "Apple Discussions" doent work with safari...

Every time I try to log in to this page with safari I come to some "Create New User Account" page, even though I already have this account.
What I have to do is boot up Firefox to be able to post this message. Does anyone know why?

Apple use Jive as their platform, and it doesn't accept accented letters. It's annoying and one would hope that will be fixed when Apple roll out the new Community Discussions. But for the time being, you will have to use un-accented letters to log in with Safari.

  • Unable to log out connected users, bug.

The problem: When another user is logged in with unsaved changes and I try to shut down, I get a dialog box telling me the situation and that I need to enter an admin name and password in order to shut down. However it always returns an 'incorrect name and password' message.
This has happened on my old emacs and on both my new imac G5's. I've tried long and short names with passwords. Nada. I've even tried creating a new admin account and using that to shut down. Nada.
Anyone else able to reproduce this problem?

Hi JOn, this seems to be profound in Leopard. ...not older versions
THE FIX IS VERY VERY SIMPLE..
This is simply after entering the userid and password of the 'admin' level user at the PROMPT,
    PRESS the * RETURN key**!.
    and it will work.
do not use the mouse click.
Yes I know this sounds ridiculous, but several of my relatives in other countries on 10.5.x had this problem with their kids logged in using fast user switching .
    see this too: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6574671#6574671
    Try it.. works fine.
