Unable to login on console after RADIUS configuration on switch.

I'm having some problems logging on to a switch via console after applying RADIUS-config.
When using telnet I can log on.
But when trying to log on via console I'm getting:
User Access Verification
Username: xxx
Password: xxx
% Authentication failed
What I want to acheive here is to use radius for telnet & ssh, and the local user account for console.
What am I missing here?
Here's my aaa config.
aaa authentication login default group radius local
aaa authentication enable default group radius enable
aaa authorization console
aaa authorization exec default group radius local
Thanks!

Sorry, I was too fast. Cut and paste error from my notes. Anyway, the basics are when you want to enable AAA on IOS, but for console access you want to use the local database then you need to do following steps:
1. Define local usernames: username xxx password yyy
2. Configure aaa new-model
3. Configure a named AAA authentication list: aaa authentication login LIST local
4. Attach the named AAA authentication list to the console line: login authentication LIST
If you want to use the local database only as fallback in case the aaa servers are not responding you use: aaa authentication login LIST group radius local
In above example no_radius is your LIST name. So, if you remove the password from the line con 0, and change aaa authentication login no_radius enable to aaa authentication login no_radius local, and attach this one to your line con 0, you will be using the local database for line con 0. The default list is still used on tty, vty and aux.
If you use aaa authentication login no_radius group radius local instead of aaa authentication login no_radius local you are using the local database as a fallback.
Kind regards
(Sorry, not able to test this at this time so this is purely theory from my notes)

  • Unable to open EIS console after install...

I get the error "olapbldr has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.",
This displays in the typcial Microsoft Send Error Report window. THis occurs immediately after I try to open the EIS console by clicking on the shortcut in Programs menu.
    Background:
I installed Hyperion System 9 release 9.3.1 from scratch.
    1. Oracle Database (user IDs: hypuser for shared services, plansys and planapp for planning module)
    2. Shared Services
    3. Essbase
    4.Planning (without EPMA)
    5. HFM
    6. Reporting and Analysis
I installed and configured the above components exactly as in the order given in "Installation_Start_here" document.
After completion of Step 3 above, I was able to open EIS console. At this time, it displayed the Metaoutline creation login window. I did not create any meta outline at this time.
I believe this can be done later and not part of the installation/configuration. Correct me if I am wrong.
The above mentioned error message occured after I try to open EIS console after completing the installation of products. At this stage, its not even showing any initial screen of EIS console and straight away gives the erorr message.
What could be the problem here? Did I miss anything in installation/configuration? I have followed this sequence and method in past installations, but didn't have any issue opening EIS.
    cheers
    Z

Iam also facing the same problem.
While open EIS console, Iam getting error like "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in olapbldr.exe".
There is no error message in log files.
    Please help me

  • Suddenly unable to login via console

I restarted my guest that's been running fine for a few days, and suddenly I am unable to login thru the java browser-based console thru the VM Manager.
Everything about the console looks fine: It shows me all the usual startup messages if I open it while the VM guest is booting, it prompts me for the login username and password but instantly returns to the "TestVMHost login:" prompt after entering the correct password. It does this for all three plain users and root that I have established in this VM guest.
I can SSH into the VM guest just fine with PuTTY over the network and login with any valid username/password, so I am not locked out of access to the VM guest. It's just the java-browser console app itself that suddenly stopped letting me login.
    Any ideas?
PS: the VM server is 2.2 and the guest is OEL 5.4 installed from media, not from a pre-built template, both are 64-bits.

Hi, I have no idea of what can be the reason for your sudden console blackout...
What I can say is that here on my side, SUDDENLY, after a few random reboots (and without touching anything else!), I'm not experiencing the system-console error messages flood anymore (pls see my last post, sorry I'm a bit in a hurry and I'm not able to put in the link).
I have a different error now, just one, after that it looks like it started to function "by itself".
I'm starting to think OVM 2.2 has major problems with networking, and I have the feeling they are related to the new bridge "xenbr0:0" that has been probably created for putting one more layer of abstraction regarding the Server Pool Master (has it been designed like this to make possible automatic migration of VM Guests that used to be running on a failed Server Pool Master? Who knows... On 2.1.5, in that scenario, HA wouldn't have been of help, and no automatic restore of any VM Guest would have happened).
What I can say after a few days of tests is I dont' trust this system, thinking to steadily go back to 2.1.5...
I'm maybe doing something wrong too, but this is the feeling. I have also several more minor issues too. Uhm.

  • Can't start WLS7 console after changing configuration

    Hi,
Do you have similar situation using WebLogic v7 ?
We can’t start our weblogic server after changing JMS configuration
a bit. Our consultant and I discussed about the solution - one of
them was to re-install weblogic domain. However, this method is not
good for production since all applications will have to be re-installed
again although this WLS is for internal testing.
Using your production mind, what is the better approach while you can't
even start weblogic console after an incomplete configuration.
    Consultant's description:
"Our web application needs to configure WebLogic 7.0 JMS service via
wls console. After I did configure a new Connection Factory and a
Destination Keys (actually I should configure a new JMS server and
queue here), the WLS couldn’t reboot so that there is no way to logon
    console to modify JMS configuration."
    Thanks,
    Alex Lin

If WLS through the console is creating an unbootable config.xml this is a
    bug.
When you start WLS it makes a copy of its bootable configuration by renaming
config.xml to config.xml.booted. If this corruption occurs as you not with
the console, then you have to back up to config.xml.booted and start over.
You should open a case with support describing:
    a) the exact version of wls
    b) copy of "bad xml"
    c) the exact steps you took to cause the problem
To work around the problem I would try following the exact steps listed
    here:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/ConsoleHelp/jms.html
    Cheers

then i did following steps to get those images
    Connect to SQL*Plus as SYS
    @APEX_HOME/apex/apxldimg.sql APEX_HOME
    @APEX_HOME/apex/apxxepwd.sql password
(where password is the password of the Application Express internal ADMIN account)
I chanbged image directory as below
    FROM:
    create directory APEX_IMAGES as ‘&1/apex/images’ ;
    TO:
    create directory APEX_IMAGES as ‘c:\oraclexe\apex\images’ and also tried ‘c:\ver 3.2\apex\images’;
    Ran @apxldimg.sql

  • SOLVED - Unable to login into xfce after upgrade

I upgraded my Arch computer. When rebooting I get SLIM and can enter my login/password but can go any further as it loops back to SLIM. I've read another post on consolekit & HAL.
I have consolekit 0.4.1-2 and HAL 0.5.14-1. SLIM gets started via /etc/inittab
    id:5:initdefault:
    x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/slim >& /dev/null
    And my .xinitrc looks like:
    #!bin/sh
    exec ck-launch-session startxfce4
It has been working for months this way. Too bad to be stuck today.
Any hint on how I can debug this issue?
    Thanks

    ---> ANSWER IS HERE:
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=86747
    Just had to
    sudo rm ~/.ICEauthority
    and rebooted.
COOL... That didn't even give me enough time to get nervous.
    EDIT
I killed SLIM and tried to launch 'startx'. I don't know how to copy/paste from the command line but what I see is :
(EE) Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0)
    xf86TokenToOptInfo: table is NULL
(EE) config/hal: couldn't find input devices: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied (Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender.........
    <stdin>3: error: Unknown #directive "Xft"
    EDIT2
Here is a copy of the log files after rebooting:
    /var/log/slim.log
/usr/bin/xauth: creating new authority file /var/run/slim.auth

  • Unable to access CMS console after system crash and full restore

Our Crystal Reports server failed after a sudden power outage. When power was restored, the Windows 2003 server failed to boot. It had to be completely restored from backup. Now we have Business Objects Infoview (BOBJ 11.5) back up and running and Crystal Reports can be accessed by using the Enterprise login. Reports are running for the administrator, however, our real users are setup to login thru Windows AD, and we seem to be unable to contact the AD server over LDAP. The users get: Account Information Not Recognized: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on. Please contact your system administrator to make sure you are a member of a valid mapped group and try again. This was working fine before the failure.
Also, we would normally pull up the central management server console to check the LDAP connection and the rest, but we get an error trying to pull up that web page:
    WCA plugin error
Message:An exception has occurred in the admin plugin with message: Value not found
We are not using IBM Websphere, but we are using Tomcat.
We also see multiple entries in the server application log for the components of Business Objects: "Transport error: Communication failure"
I searched the support site for a few hours with no help there. Any help that can be thrown our way would be greatly appreciated.

  • Unable to login to console - "Incompatible Server"?

    Good afternoon everyone,
So I've installed SMC 4 on a V480 with Solaris 10 11/06, and I've installed some of the relevant add-ons. I did have to deviate from the default port during installation/setup, so I used the port shown in the documention (1161). I originally tried to open the console using "es-start -c", but I kept getting the registration question, and then it would stop execution of the script after I tried to answer the question; another thread here lead me to the "javaws" command to take me through the registration process successfully, and I was able to figure out that I needed to include the port in the command, "es-start -c -- -p 1161" to get the login prompt. However, when I put in my credentials, I get this error:
"Communication could not be established with the server. The server version may be incompatible."
Can anyone help me with this error? Thanks!

    same problem.
SunMC 4.0 was running fine, I added a handful of servers before.
But a few of the server icons where blue although I installed the agent Addon.
So I thought, maybe I have to install the Addon package as well on the SMC server (I can't remember if I did that already):
    ! root@sunmc:/tmp # tar xvf Sun_MC_Addon-4_0_V5-GA.tar
    ! root@sunmc:/tmp # es-inst
Enter the source directory of the installation files: /tmp/disk1/image

  • Unable to login to cmc after installing business objects xi 3.0

    Hi Friends,
I'm new to Business Objects, i've installed bussiness objects XI 3.0 and i did not specify the user name and password during installation (since there was a checkbox option to configure it later after installation). Now i've troble logging in. I tried to login using Administrator as username and no password, its neither logging in nor giving me an error message but asking me to provide login details, whereas i could login with the same administrator as username into  Business View Manager and Diagnostic Tools. Please help.
    thanks.

Change your URL to the IP address of the server or FQDN.
Also try to disable windows enhanced security if using 2003.
Most common causes of this are DNS issues or session problems with the browser (bothh may be resolved with the steps above).
    Regards,
    Tim

  • Unable to login as administrator after creating new standard account

Just got a nice new MBP form work today.
When logged in as the admin I created a new standard account for my personal use. I then shut down the laptop.
After booting up I am presented with a default icon, my standard use name, and a field to enter my password. I can login to this account fine. If I click on the arrow next to the username (this seems pretty poor UX - it annoyingly takes a while to appear, and how is a new user supposed to know what it is for? /vent), and then click on 'other' and enter my admin username and password, it is not accepted and the password field just shakes.
    Am I missing something obvious?
    Many thanks.

    @Frank Caggianoy
Yep, the Display login window is set to List of users. The password that has been set up is the passwsord I've been using for several months at work, so that cannot be the issue.
    @nbar
When I set up the standard user account, there was definately an administrator account in the user list. I also installed some work related applications which are not present when logged in to the standard account.
I've got to say that these forums are very helpful - thanks for the suggestions. I'll speak to the person who set up everything tomorrow, and post back what the problem/solution was.
    Cheers.

  • Unable to login to console

I am not able to login to the console, ctrl+alt+del does nothing, use RDP to login, connect to event viewer, computer management, or hyper-v manager from remote PC. These servers are Hyper-V host with 2 VM's that have No Issues, I
can use RDP to connect to and access shared files. I have 2 servers setup the same way and both have the same problem was working fine yesterday. I have not done any updates or made any changes to the host for some time.

Something should change. Do not believe in miracles. This is not likely situation that the computer lives its own secret life.
Hope you find more detailed to discuss.
