Unable to login to HANA Instance on MS Azure

Hello world,
I was able to successfully create a HANA Instance on MS Azure that is linked to my CAL account.
Instance is up and running.
I am attempting to connect using "Connect" that is available on CAL and alternately also via SAP HANA Studio on my local desktop.
I have tried the standard user names such as my S-ID, my P#, my email id, SYSTEM, hdbadm ........... however, none of them work.
I am simply unable to logon.
What am I doing wrong?

Specific instructions are available once you click the "connect" option inside of CAL.
Does that part work? Are you able to go to the server via the web browser using the IP of the machine? The IP will be listed like in the screenshot (although it will show your IP not the test system I just started)
In HANA Studio you should be able to give the IP of the machine, instance 00 and the password you gave with the user "SYSTEM" when you created the instance.

Unable to login to SAP instance after hardware changes

Hi,
We have a central instance and 3 application servers. System board and NIC cards have been changed by windows team on one of the applications servers. After the hardware changes users are not able to login to SAP. All the instances are placed under logon group and the users login through load distribution.
After hardware changes, we have started the application server and SAP is running fine on it. Now it has response time 0, which is best of all instances. All the new logins are diverting towards this instance as it has better response time of all and the instance is not allowing users to get into it nor to any insatnce. When we pulldown this instance users are able to login to other instances.
We have treid changing NIC cards and windows team confirmed that ILO is working fine.
Please help us in resolving this issue.

Primary checks - check logon groms SMLG - if the distribution are done and active with all instances.
also check by login directly to CI without any logon grop and check that all the instances are shown in SM51 by double clicking and checking all work process for each instances look perticularly if all the Diag WP's are free for all instances.

Unable to Login to Idle Instance from SQL*Plus in windows

Hello,
I'm cloning the db from windows to windows enviornment. At auxilary instance after configuring the Listener and making Password file to right folder when I try to connect to Idle Instance through sql*plus by follwring connad
c:\sqlplus sys/password as sysdba
It gives me ORA-12518 Tns: Listener could not hand off client conenction error
Then I put the follwing parameter in listener.ora DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF and restart listener and then try to connect it gives me Ora-12560: TNS protocol adapter error.
I try to connect through tnsnames but give me same error.
Kindly tell me how to resolve this issue as its not allowing me to connect to an idle instance so that I can go further.
I'm using 10gR2 on windows server 2003.

follow the steps to clone database:
# 1. Backup the source database.
To use RMAN duplicate an RMAN backup of the source database is required. If there is already one available, skip to step 2. If not, here is a quick example of how to produce an RMAN backup. This example assumes that there is no recovery catalog available:
rman target sys@<source database> nocatalog
RMAN>backup database plus archivelog ;
RMAN> backup archivelog all;
This will backup the database and archive logs.
# 2. Produce a pfile for the new database
This step assumes that the source database is using a spfile. If that is not the case, simply make a copy the existing pfile.
Connect to the source database as sysdba and run the following:
create pfile='init<new database sid>.ora' from spfile;
This will create a new pfile in the $ORACLE_HOME/database directory.
The new pfile will need to be edited immediately. If the cloned database is to have a different name to the source, this will need to be changed, as will any paths. Review the contents of the file and make alterations as necessary.
Because in this example the cloned database will reside on the same machine as the source, Oracle must be told how convert the filenames during the RMAN duplicate operation. This is achieved by adding the following lines to the newly created pfile:
db_file_name_convert=(<source_db_path>,<target_db_path>)
log_file_name_convert=(<source_db_path>,<target_db_path>)
# 3. Create bdump, udump & cdump directories
Create bdump, udump & cdump directories as specified in the pfile
# 4. Create a service

From sqlplus, start the instance up in nomount mode:
startup nomount
Exit sqlplus, start RMAN and duplicate the database. As in step 1, it is assumed that no recovery catalog is available. If one is available, simply amend the RMAN command to include it.
rman target sys@<source_database> nocatalog auxiliary /
duplicate target database to <clone database name>;

HANA Admin tool error - unable to login

Hello HANA Developer / admin gurus!
I am unable to login to XS Administration Tool (DB version rev.74).
Using Chrome's Developer tool following error was captured:
http://<hostname>/sap/hana/xs/formLogin/login.xscfunc 500 (Internal Server Error)
Apart from this very generic error, I am unable to find any other traces / error logs.
My user-id has all relevant (and probably more!) xs roles; still unable to find the root cause.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Unable to activate or suspend HANA instance

After activating my HANA instance the status was “not defined”. So I tried to suspend but this also did not work, saying: Operation Suspend failed on step Suspend with message: Action Suspend did not complete in 600 seconds.

Your instance stayed in status STOPPING for several hours starting at 7 am PST. This is not an expected behavior so I looked at the AWS Status History and found the following log for Nov 21, EC2 (us-east)
[RESOLVED] Increased API Error Rates
6:25 AM PST We are investigating increased API error rates in the US-EAST-1 Region.
7:11 AM PST We are experiencing increased error rates for RunInstances and VPC related APIs. Error rates for new launches are also elevated. Existing running instances are unaffected.
8:31 AM PST 8:30 AM PST We are seeing recovery in API error rates and new launches are succeeding. Some API requests are being throttled with a RequestLimitExceeded error while recovery proceeds. Existing running instances were unaffected.
8:55 AM PST Between 5:40 AM and 8:35 AM PST we experienced increased error rates for RunInstances and VPC related APIs. Error rates for new instance launches were also elevated. Existing instances were not impacted. The service is currently operating normally.
This explains the issues you experienced on November 21st.

Unable to connect to HANA Studio on CAL using Microsoft Azure

Hi
I have created a new instance in CAL on Microsoft Azure. I have started and activated the instance. In Azure also its in started mode and I am being billed. But then when I login using SYSTEM as user name and the Password that I created while setting up my instance in CAL, I get a message saying, "Invalid username or password".
I gave the Public IP address in putty, the port by default is 22. I clicked on open but I am getting a message, network error: Connection time out.
I opened HANA Studio and gave the public IP address, instance 00, User Name as system and password is the one I created during setting up of my instance in CAL. But I am unable to login here aswell.
Can any one please explain me what the issue is? Do I have to reset my password? How do I do that in CAL? Or is it any issue with the IP addresses?
As a technology its a good feature to access HANA on cloud but from user friendliness I find it very tough to access. I had same problems with AWS also. Good old days was good when you opened SAP Logon pad and accessed the system straightaway with single sign on. Is it possible to have some thing like single sign on while accessing HANA Studio on Cloud. I don't want to be entering the IP address each and every time I connect. And half the time the IP address doesn't connect.

Are you sure the proper ports are opened and that your network is allowing you to actually access those specific ports?
Are you able to go to http://IP OF SYSTEM:8000 or http://IP OF SYSTEM:80 do either load up a page for you?

Unable to login to application

Workaround

Unknown SID Error Message/Unable To Login to VM Manager

Hello,
I have installed VM Server and VM Manager on the latest Virtual Box install for Windows 7.
When I attempt to login into the VM Manager (ID: ovm , Default Password: Welcome1) - I get
the error message:
"... [APP: ovm_console] An incorrect username or password was specified. ...."
I selected all default passwords and database config values during installation (e.g., SID=XE).
(Note: I am able to login to VM Manager GNOME desktop but I am unable to log into the VM Manager UI.
I can log in as root in a Xterm window and the ovm Welcome1 password allows me into the GNOME environment. )
The critical error message in the AdminServer.log IS an unknown 'SID' message (even though the default SID=XE was selected):
"ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor"
I reviewed the responses to the "Unable to Login to VM Manager" thread so I decided to try the recommended response (unlocking ovs oracle password) even though the logs responses were different in certain areas. I logged in as Oracle with the correct user env and attempted to start the XE database via sqlplus sys user and startup command. I was unable to start the database due to the below error message:

Shutdown abort also did not get rid of this message. Symptons suggest there is a lock not being released (e.g., primitive file that needs to be cleaned up/removed.) If anybody has additional information on this matter - it would be greatly appreciated.

Further investigation reveals the reason why I can't manually start the database as oracle user. The permissions on the oracle directories via the default install are incorrect. Running the command chown -R oracle:dba /u01/app/oracle/ allowed the database to start.. OVS user is now able to login into the XE database.
Now logging in w/ admin user in VM results in the following error message:
" Unexpected error during login (com.oracle.ovm.mgr.api.exception.FailedOperationException: OVMAPI_6000E Internal Error: Connection refused Connection refused Sat Nov 24 11:39:22 PST 2012), please consult logs for details.
I am spending way too much time on this Virtual box install. Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you cant still login EBS than i belive you dont have problem wiht apps password. If possible
1. Close apps services
2. Restart db and run autoconfig first (be sure autoconfig end wihtout error)
3. Compile JSP on appstier (be sure autoconfig end wihtout error)

Unable to login to caralog manager online with adminstrator user

Hi Gurus,
I am unable to login to catalog manager online with administrator user. I get error as
'access denied for user to path /.'
I think this is because of catalog migration from dev to test.
What do i need to do so that i could login to catalog manager online with administrator?

Hi,
When the catalog is moved from Dev to Test/prod permissions are not copied. The users are part of the system folder (i.e Catalog Manager > Users > Properties > Owner Account = System Account), which is why Catalog Manager does not transfer the permissions.
I guess that is the reason you were able to run the reports from dev and not from test/prod. To have them work you might need to refresh GUID's check the Oracle note [ID 1467256.1].
1. Stop the Presentation Server.
2. Backup the instanceconfig.xml file at [middleware_home]/instances/instance1/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obips1/instanceconfig.xml
Under the 'Catalog' section, add the 'Recover' tag. For Example:
<Catalog>
<UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit>
<UpdateAccountGUIDs>Recover</UpdateAccountGUIDs>
</Catalog>
4. Start the Presentation Server. It will perform a recovery and then after some time shutdown.
5. Remove the tag.
6. Start the Presentation Server again.

Unable to Login to OAM after cloning

I am unable to login to OAM after cloning. I am getting the message "The page cannot be displayed" when clicking on OAM front end link.

Unable to login webmail after enable SSL

Dear Sun,
After i enable ssl on our webserver which hosting our office communication express, i was unable to login ce and the link seem so weird. But after i disable the ssl, every thing become normal. The ssl cert is from the CA.
after i enable the ssl feature, i need key in the url "https://mailpxy3.ubd.edu.bn:80/uwc" only able to access to the login page ,but i unable to log in with a correct password and username. how can i solve this?
and how can i change the url without needing to show the port number, when i only key in the url "https://mailpxy3.ubd.edu.bn, it won't automatically redirect to the url "https://mailpxy3.ubd.edu.bn/uwc/auth" how can i solve this problem?
For your information, our web server version is Sun Java System Web Server 7.0U4 and our communication express version is CE6.3

Unable to Login, Obiee11g

Hi Experts,
I'm getting "Authentication Error" when i'm trying to login into the DASHBOARD, OBIEE11g.
i have deployed my rpd and webcat successfully.I can login into the RPD with the password. but i'm unable to login into the dashboard.i have checked in the console also.and i have updated "FMW_" in NQS config file and added a line <updateandexist>----in the Instance config , stop and restart the services also.
But i'm unable to login into the DASHBOARD OBIEE 11g.
Please help me regarding this..

Make sure that:
- all services of OPMN are up and running
- database containing _BIPLATFORM schema is up and running
Try to connect to your repository with the Admin tool in online mode. Then you will be sure you have correct login and password.
Check the log files for thrown errors. Paste the exact error message here!

SAP started but unable to login...

Dear Experts,
I am facing one problem that my SAP server is showing all startup process completed and instance started successfully. But I am unable to login to the server. This problem comes after restarting the SAP. I have even tried restarting the OS, But with no luck..
It seems that dispatcher is not working
Here are the details of my enviornment.
OS : HPUX 11.31 (Cluster)
DB: Oracle10g (10.2.0.4)
Instance No. 06 and 08 (2 instance, CI + DI)
I am unable to telnet to the instance port.
I have gone through the dev_w0 and dev_disp but didn't get clue...
I can asure you, nothing has been changed since last reboot cycle when sap was started successfully with no problem.
Can any body guide me in this case. This is our production server.
