Open Directory - Unable to login Workgroup Manager
I am unable to login to Workgroup Manager with my diradmin account.
I know the password is correct.
This is on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2
Everything was working fine last night, but then it stopped functioning. I am able to see all the users, but they are greyed out. When I try to login, I get "The login information is not valid for this server"
The LDAP log shows a bunch of the same errors that it did not show before.
slapd[76]: SASL Failure: GSSAPI Error: Miscellaneous failure.
Please advise. Thank you.
SamsonTry logging in to Workgroup Manager using the local admin account not the diradmin account. If this works, then try accessing the /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 choice using the diradmin account.

Unable to login Process Integrator Studio/Worklist
I'm unable to login the weblogic process integrator's studio/worklist.(evaluation copy). I successfully installed the Process Integrator with cloudscape database and commented out "weblogic.security.realmClass=..." and created the users, groups and orgs. Having done so, I am able to bring the server up, but unalbe to login the studio. It does not take any of the 5 users (defined in weblgic.properties) with the respective passwords, though these useraccounts are sucessfully created in the database. message reads: make sure username, password and server URL are all correct. null No server found at T3://localhost:7001 It also diplays "com.bea.wlpi.WLPIPrincipal".

IE10 Unable to Login- Indefinite Spinning Graphic
We currently have 2 Azure subscriptions and I am unable to login to manage.windowsazure.com using either my live ID or federated ID. When trying to login, I get past the first screen with the blue spinning wheel only to get stuck at the second screen
with the spinning wheel (right before the dashboard loads). The dashboard works fine with both Firefox and Chrome and will load up right away.
What is more troublesome is that I have signed up for the developer support subscription and when I try to open a ticket, the support portal is telling me that I only have access to billing support. As a result, I am here as a last resort.
This only is occurring on one of my computers. If I try from another, identical computer with IE10 I am able to login fine. Unfortunately, it is happening on my main system so I would like to try and resolve.
I am currently using Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions of IE10 and upgraded to IE11 with the same result. I have tried resetting IE to defaults, tried inprivate and disabled all addons with no success. I have
deleted the cookies folder under my profile (including Low contents) with no success.
Strangely, I found that it does occasionally load for no reason but if I close or logout and reopen the management portal, it hangs again. I have tried pressing "Esc" and the wheel stops but no progress is made.
Any help is desperately appreciated!

Unknown SID Error Message/Unable To Login to VM Manager
Hello,
I have installed VM Server and VM Manager on the latest Virtual Box install for Windows 7.
When I attempt to login into the VM Manager (ID: ovm , Default Password: Welcome1) - I get
the error message:
"... [APP: ovm_console] An incorrect username or password was specified. ...."
I selected all default passwords and database config values during installation (e.g., SID=XE).
(Note: I am able to login to VM Manager GNOME desktop but I am unable to log into the VM Manager UI.
I can log in as root in a Xterm window and the ovm Welcome1 password allows me into the GNOME environment. )
The critical error message in the AdminServer.log IS an unknown 'SID' message (even though the default SID=XE was selected):
"ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor"
I reviewed the responses to the "Unable to Login to VM Manager" thread so I decided to try the recommended response (unlocking ovs oracle password) even though the logs responses were different in certain areas. I logged in as Oracle with the correct user env and attempted to start the XE database via sqlplus sys user and startup command. I was unable to start the database due to the below error message:
2012-11-23 14:13:46.210
18 Oracle Instance Startup operation failed. Another process may be attempting to startup or shutdown this Instance.
19 Failed to acquire instance startup/shutdown serialization primitive
~
Shutdown abort also did not get rid of this message. Symptons suggest there is a lock not being released (e.g., primitive file that needs to be cleaned up/removed.) I did remove oracle *.lck files from /tmp directory but this did not help either. The ps -elf output also reveals there are no oracle pmon processes running.
If anybody has additional information on this matter - it would be greatly appreciated.

******************************************************************************************Further investigation reveals the reason why I can't manually start the database as oracle user. The permissions on the oracle directories via the default install are incorrect. Running the command chown -R oracle:dba /u01/app/oracle/ allowed the database to start.. OVS user is now able to login into the XE database.
Now logging in w/ admin user in VM results in the following error message:
" Unexpected error during login (com.oracle.ovm.mgr.api.exception.FailedOperationException: OVMAPI_6000E Internal Error: Connection refused Connection refused Sat Nov 24 11:39:22 PST 2012), please consult logs for details.
I am spending way too much time on this Virtual box install. Any feedback would be appreciated. -
Can't login SQL Server 2008 R2 Express management studio
Hi i recently installed SQL Server 2008 R2 management studio. When I try to login i select 'Database engine' as the server type, I'm not sure what server name I'm
supposed to be using but I tried .\SQLEXPRESS and authentication is 'SQL server Authentication'. But as for login and password I don't have one. During the installation I was not prompted to provide a login/password. As with the 2005 server installation I
could by selecting 'mixed'. So how do i login for the first time on SQL server 2008 if i dont know/have my login/password?Hi,

Sql management studio login error
***When i tried to login to the MS SQL management studio with <sid>adm user am geeting the error
The error text as below.
TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: viewInfo (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.SqlStudio.Explorer)
BUTTONS:
OK
ThanksHi,
Could you please check if there any directory named like 1,2,3 etc in
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\
This error sometime occurs due to missing temporary file which is created every time at startup of ssms.exe file.
If you can find any log file which says missing file name then you just create the missing directory in given location. The file will be created automatically next time.
Thanks. -
Unable to login to caralog manager online with adminstrator user
Hi Gurus,
I am unable to login to catalog manager online with administrator user. I get error as
'access denied for user to path /.'
I think this is because of catalog migration from dev to test.
What do i need to do so that i could login to catalog manager online with administrator?
Please advice
ThanksHi,
When the catalog is moved from Dev to Test/prod permissions are not copied. The users are part of the system folder (i.e Catalog Manager > Users > Properties > Owner Account = System Account), which is why Catalog Manager does not transfer the permissions.
I guess that is the reason you were able to run the reports from dev and not from test/prod. To have them work you might need to refresh GUID's check the Oracle note [ID 1467256.1].
1. Stop the Presentation Server.
2. Backup the instanceconfig.xml file at [middleware_home]/instances/instance1/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obips1/instanceconfig.xml
Under the 'Catalog' section, add the 'Recover' tag. For Example:
<Catalog>
<UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit>
<UpdateAccountGUIDs>Recover</UpdateAccountGUIDs>
</Catalog>
4. Start the Presentation Server. It will perform a recovery and then after some time shutdown.
5. Remove the tag.
6. Start the Presentation Server again.
Let me know if this helped.

Jay

Migrating from 4.12 to 5.2 - Unable to login as Directory Manager
To anyone who can tell me what to do-
I have used the perl script by what the manual said to use migrateInstance5 to the new server I installed next to the old server. For the new server, I installed it on port 9000 and then migrated. After migration, I turned off the old server, moded the new server to run on port 389 and then started up the slapd. When I try to run the startconsole , I am unable to login as Directory Manager with the password I choose or the password I used for the old server.
What am I doing wrong ? or what did go wrong?
in need of help
-aaronA couple of quick questions:
Is your configuration server running?
Is the admin server running?
... if on Unix - grep for slapd ...
Can you bind to the ldap server through command line (not throught the console)?
Any errors in the access logs? -
Unable to login WLPI Studio/Worklist
I'm unable to login into the weblogic process integrator's studio/worklist with the evaluation copy of wlpi. I'm able to create the database(oracle) connection properly and also set up the users etc tables as specified in ddl/wlpi_oracle.ddl file. However when I try to login by giving the user/password and url(t3://localhost:7001) a message pops up asking to check the user/password/url .It also display "com.bea.wlpi.WLPIPrincipal". However WLPIPrincipal class exists in some other package (com.bea.wlpi.server.WLPIPrincipal). There is no file with the displayed package. Can anyone help me. I'm really tired with this problem!!!
Install the ejb20.jar upgrade from bea and it should work fine.

I had the same problem. The cause was an incorrect path to the

if
you have errors in this area. The server was started, but without
the wlpi beans, it didn't know what to do with the (correct) login

Unable to install microsoft sql server management studio 2008 express
When i install management studio 2008 express, throws an error stating that "SQL server 2008 Setup reqiures Microsoft .NET framework from http:.... and then rerun setup.
Can any body help me in this, and also i have installed .NET framework 3.5.
Thanks.Hi sivak_tamilan,
According to your description, we need to verify if you install and enable the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, it is a prerequisite for SQL Server 2008 standalone instance.
In the setup, the SP-bit must be set to “1″, you can do as follows:
Open the registry editor and browse to the key,
Then locate the value SP, double-click it and change it from zero to”1”.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.5
There is a similar issue about this error, you can review the following article.
http://www.undermyhat.org/blog/2011/03/resolved-microsoft-sql-server-2008-setup-requires-microsoft-net-framework-3-5-sp1-to-be-installed/
In addition, if you install SQL Server on a computer that is running Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8, you must make sure that you fulfill the minimum requirements. For example, you must apply SQL Server 2008 Service Pack
3 or a later update.

Users using Windows Authentication unable to login after upgrade to SQL Server 2012 SP2 CU1
We upgraded from SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012 SP2 CU1. Upgrade was successful. Users that have SQL Server Management Studio 2012 can successfully log in via Windows Authentication, but users with an older version of SQL Server Management
Studio are unable to log in via Windows Authentication.
The error they receive is listed below:
Connect not connect to XXXXXXX
Login Failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows Authentication.
(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18452)
If we switch to Mixed authentication, users can log in via SQL Server Authentication.

Outside of having the staff upgrade to SQL Server 2012 SQL Server Management Studio, is there any setting I can set/unset to allow older version of SQL Server Management studio to connect to SQL Server 2012?
Thanks.
