Unable to login to Oracle Database 11.2 XE Beta

Hello everyone:
Trying to login to Oracle Database 11.2 XE Beta, the fields are workspace, username and password. How do i know the workspace.
Thanks

Where are you trying to log in?
If you go to Get Started (http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950), the Database Home page should open up.
There click the APEX "tab" or red button, login if requested with a database username, and you'll get to create an Apex Workspace.
See the XE [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17781_01/admin.112/e18585/toc.htm]Getting Started Guide - 6.1. Getting Started with Application Express
For exploring APEX, the [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/welcome.html]Documentation library for APEX 4.0 should come in handy.

    Hi,
    jjcdba user should be the member of "dba" group to enjoy the OS authentication otherwise you would need to use the sys password to login to the database. Please make sure that "dba" os group exists and make this user member of this group.

  • UTF support in XML DB at Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Beta 2

    hello everybidy! ;)
    I use Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Beta 2 Release for Microsoft Windows (dated 16-Nov-05) and place into XML DB XSLT-file (UTF8-encoded and contained some Cyrillic chars) and 10g XP can`t apply such transformation but when i replace cyrillic chars with latin chars - everything work just fine. Is it known bug? Can it be fixed by some reconfiguration or moving to Linux version of 10g XP? When will new release?
    truly yours,

    Hello, Bhagat.
    I don't understand why you would install HTMLDB with apexins.sql (it's a procedure to install HTMLDB for 9i and 10G EE/SE not XE)
    because HTMLDB (APEX) is already install with Oracle Express Edition. Not need
    to install it with apexins.sql

  • Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Beta 2 Installation

    Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Beta 2 Release for Microsoft Windows installation successful, no problems.

    Hi Rekha,
    The format mask 999G999G999G999G990D0000 is the format mask that I selected from the software itself. I also use this format mask for a single record update. If' s ok, no error, but with tabular form with multiple record update, it shows error .I also changed the decimal point to two digits ,select from software pop-up window (this was tested in the workspace provide by Oracle). It still shows error. Last test I put the space like 1 111,111.00 in a single record update it shows error (but if I put 1 in front of 111,111 without space it's ok-no space before). My point is from user point of view.In the first time user input 100000 the software accept it. Opp! it has to be 1100000. The user comes back after submit and put 1 without comma.It shows error (in tabular form with multiple record update not in single row update). While in the first time the user do not to key any comma at all. This may makes some confuses both the users and the developers which had to check error by adding program to checking some where in Page Processing or Page Rendering.
    Thanks

    Hi Samy,
    I did some checking and found the old platforms text file for which servers we supported:
    Crystal Reports Data Sources
    =======================================
    Report Data Source              Database Client
    Oracle 8.1.7                  Oracle Net client 9.2 (Native)
                                    ODBC Oracle 9.2
                                    JDBC Oracle 9.2
                                    OLEDB Oracle 9.2
    Oracle 9.2                    Oracle Net client 9.2 (Native)
                                    ODBC Oracle 9.2
                                    JDBC Oracle 9.2
                                    OLEDB Oracle 9.2
    Oracle 10.1                   Oracle Net client 10.1 (Native)
                                    ODBC Oracle 10.1
                                    JDBC Oracle 10.1
                                    OLEDB  Oracle 10.1
    As you can see we needed the 9.2 client. I do recall now there were UNICODE issues with earlier versions and 9.2 was the fix which is why we supported the 8 server but with the 9 client.
    So not sure why it worked previously but likely because Windows 7 doesn't have the dependencies XP would have had it may be the reason....
    Bottom line is you are not on a supported platform so we have not done much testing ourselves on how to get around these issues....
    Thanks again

  • Unable to connect to Oracle database on RHEL4

    Hi,
    I have completed installation of Oracle 10g release 2. on RHEL 4.
    On logging on to the RHEL 4 machine, I am able to start Oracle database and use sqlplus.
    However, I am unable to connect to it from my desktop, which is windows xp. The tnsnames.ora file in the windows desktop has been updated. However its not able to connect to this machine. The RHEL4 machine is configured with DHCP. Could this be the problem? I would not be able to configure it with static IP, is there a way to configure it with DHCP? tnsping does not identify the database instance either. I get the following error.
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    Regards,
    Rishikesh

    rishikesh,
    On the RHEL4 machine
    1. check the listener:
    -check if the service name of your database is registered
    -check on which NIC/ip address the listener is listening
    2. check if you can login using TCP
    -do a tnsping of the connection descriptor you are using
    If both tests succeed, go to the client (windows XP machine)
    1. check if the RHEL4 machine responds to the ping command
    if that works:
    2. check if the hostname used in ping is the same as the hostname in the connectstring
    3. check if the service name in the connectstring is the same as in the listener
    4. check if the port number in the connectstrings is the same as in the listener

  • Setup automated login to Oracle database

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem while connecting to the Oracle database automatically.
    I want to setup an SQL query on the database which is scheduled to run every midnight. The SQL query then populates an Excel spreadsheet with the results. I was able to schedule the SQL qeury, however, the problem is that it requests the user to type in the password every time it runs. I want to store the username and password in the connection string/driver settings to avoid uder interaction.
    The following are ths current settings :
    1. In Microsoft ODBC setup for Oracle settings,
    DSN = DDTS
    Description = (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=bee1.pcs.mot.com)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=WSDTOOL1)))
    Username = myUserName
    Server = DDTS
    2. In MS Excel, I created the Data Source and set the driver to MS ODBC for Oracle.
    I tried to save the UID=xxx and PWD=xxx in the (a) Connection String for the ODBC Setup (b) in the tnsnames.org, but none of the options work. It still needs the user to enter the password everytime it executes.
    Can someone help ?
    Thanks !

    Hi Justin,
    Thanks for your reply.
    There's no particular reason as to why I chose MS ODBC driver rather than selecting the Oracle ODBC driver.
    As you had suggested, I tried to use the setup the data source using the Oracle ODBC driver, but I am getting a connection error : 'ORA-12154: TNS : Could not resolve service name Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed'. I guess its something to do with my settings, but I am not sure what's wrong. Here are the settings for the data source with Oracle ODBC driver :
    Data Source Name : myDDTS
    Description : (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=bee1.xx.xx.com)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=WSDTOOL1)))
    Data Source ( Service Name) : WSDTOOL1
    Data Source ( UserID) : myUserID
    Also, could you let me know which registry entries need to be modified to save the userID and password ? ( I am a newbie with Oracle).
    Regarding your question, the ODBC connect string I was using with MS ODBC driver was : (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=bee1.xx.xx.com)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=WSDTOOL1))). The connection was successful and the query worked fine, the only problem I was facing ( and looking for a solution ) was that a dialog box used to pop up asking for the password every time the SQL query is executed which I want to avoid. I want to save the password so that the query runs without any user interaction.
    Thanks for your help ! Waiting for your reply....

  • Unable to connect to oracle database using RODM

    Hello,
    I am trying to follow the steps described in
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/datawarehouse/saternos-r-161569.html
    but I keep getting the same error message after the
    DB <- RODM_open_dbms_connection(dsn="orcl", uid="dm", pwd="dm")command. The message is
    Error in typesR2DBMS[[driver]] <<- value[c("double", "integer", "character",  :
      cannot change value of locked binding for 'typesR2DBMS'
    and doing a traceback() I get
    2: setSqlTypeInfo(driver, list(double = "double precision", integer = "integer",
           character = "varchar(255)", logical = "varchar(255)"))
    1: RODM_open_dbms_connection(dsn = "orcl", uid = "dm", pw = "dm")
    Could anyone suggest some way to fix this? I am stuck and I need to get this working asap.
    Thank you very much in advance

    Hello Mark,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I tried installing Oracle R Enterprise but I got stuck again, this time apparently because I do not have Oracle database 11.2.0.3 but rather 11.2.0.1.0.
    So I would like to ask you if there is some way of using RODM, or some other way of having R access to ODM algorithms?
    Thank you,

    Ok, I've tried a lot of stuff. I have modified my application to display error message instead of "Login Failed".
    It says: "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" so like you said the mysql jar is missing.
    I have copied the whole mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin directory into my application directory. My manifest.mf looks like:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Class-Path: mysql-connector-java-5.0.4/mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.
    jar
    Sealed: true
    Main-Class: GUI.LoginScreenI have also tried changing names to mysql/mysql.jar.
    I have also tried coping just the jar file in the project folder
    Class-Path: mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.jar
    There is also some .classpath file in the jar and it looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <classpath>
         <classpathentry kind="src" path="src"/>
         <classpathentry exported="true" kind="con" path="org.eclipse.jdt.launching.JRE_CONTAINER"/>
         <classpathentry exported="true" kind="lib" path="F:/CurrentDocuments/Fall2006/JavaProjectsTemp/RentItOut/mysql-connector-java-5.0.4/mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.jar"/>
         <classpathentry kind="output" path="bin"/>
    </classpath>I don't know. According to the:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/jar/downman.html
    You specify classes to include in the Class-Path header field in the manifest file of an applet or application. The Class-Path header takes the following form:
    Class-Path: jar1-name jar2-name directory-name/jar3-name
    By using the Class-Path header in the manifest, you can avoid having to specify a long -classpath flag when invoking Java to run the your application.
    END OF QUOTATION.
    Tomorrow I'll try doing it manually under Linux. Maybe Eclipse is doing something. I don't know

  • Unable to login to Oracle E-Business Suite R12 on Windows 2003

    Hi,
    I have recently installed EBS R12 on WIN 2003 that finished successfully.
    I can launch the login page - http://prora.com.au:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
    I entered user/passwd as SYSADMIN/sysadmin but it didn't allow me to get inside.
    It doesn't display any error message; it just come back to login screen.
    I restarted couple of Services and checked OPMN managed processes etc; all seem to be fine. I have tried stopping/starting all services - adstpall.cmd/adstrall.cmd.
    I can login to DB etc.
    This is my second attempt to install EBS; my first attempt was on Linux that failed exactly with the same issue as above.
    This installation is on VMWARE machine.
    I tried to access the applictaion via IE 6, IE 8, Mozilla and Chrome as well; all in vain.
    There is nothing suspicious in the Apache logs; there is no error log at all.
    Can someone gives me some idea what to check next?
    Thanks,
    Ashton
