Unable to login to our FTP server

I'm using Contribute 3 and for some reason I'm unable to access our website to do some editing. When I login to the FTP server for connection to our website, the message I receive is that the FTP username or password is incorrect. However, I updated some data in December last without any difficulty. I'm not very computer literate but am curious to know if a change in our IP address is creating this problem. It looks to me that our IP address has changed (not sure how!) I would much appreciate if anyone has any suggestions how I resolve this.

Contribute does remember the IP address. If your's has changed, you will need a new key.

  • EA6500 - unable to setup Folder Access / FTP Server / Media Server functions

I purchased the EA6500 a few days ago, and when I'm connected to Cisco Connect Cloud I am unable to select Folder Access / FTP Server / Media Server.  I click them and nothing happens.
Also, the Cisco light on the router keeps blinking.  I'm googling to find out how to troubleshoot these situations but I'm having no luck.
I appreciate any help with these situations.

I contacted customer service, and they helped me troubleshoot.  The description of the router and it's capabilites appears misleading to me - "Folder Access" - I thought it gave one the capability to file share between different computers that are on the same network.  It's only for files that are on a USB stick that's connected to the router.  Oh well.  Good thing I still have Network Magic Pro.
In addition to this, storage functionality on the router doesn't need any software for it to work. The router should be able to detect the external drive when connected and get it configured on the router's interface unlike network magic which you've mentioned where the program must be installed to all computers in the network for it to be able to see all devices present in the network and share files and folders through it.

  • I cannot upload to our FTP server.

After 10-20mins of loading it will state that I have incorrect username/password.
I asked our IT department to run a check on our server regarding login details, report say they dont see any problem.
Since I started using Muse CC 2014, this problem with uploading to FTP Server started.
Is this a problem from Adobe Muse CC 2014?
    TIA.

Please download the file http://muse.adobe.com/assets/ftp2014fix.zip, unzip it, and save the contained file ftpPrefs.xml to the following location:
On Windows: %appdata%\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Muse CC\2014.0 (You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window.)
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Adobe Muse CC/2014.0 (You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog using Shift+Command+G. The leading tilde "~" is required.)
Muse uses FTP Extended Passive Mode (EPSV). It's the preferred FTP mode for optimal performance, but we're finding some hosting providers have FTP servers configured such that EPSV is not supported or EPSV only works if you're inside the same firewall as the FTP server. The ftpPrefs.xml file above, turns off EPSV mode. So if that is the problem in this case, putting that file in place should enable you to successfully login and upload without errors.

  • Unable to login on Mac Pro Server (ML)

    Hi,
    perhaps a small introduction to my problem;
We use a Mac Pro (with ML Server) as our main server and have about 5 users configured on it. They all use iMacs execpt for one user, who uses a MacBook Pro. The (brand new) server was configured about 3 months ago using the Server App. The services that were configured include DNS, iCal, File Services, Open Directory, and that's about it. On the server itself a local user (with Admin rights) was configured, all the other users were local network users.
Now, the MacBook Pro user had to be configured as a mobile user (in order to login to his MBP with his network credentials but outside the local network). We tried to do this from his MBP, and that's where we a first error (Seemed the user could not mount the ('null') home directory). So, we played around in the Server App with the File Services. We managed to get the mobile user account to work, however, it now seemed that all the users had their home directories on their local hard drive (not on the Mac Pro server anymore). Then, we tried to undo our changes... And that's when the server became irresponsive. We tried to reboot the Mac Pro server, and now, we can not even log in to the Mac Pro server anymore. It seems that "some error occured" which does not allow us to login to the system. This error pops up with ALL the users, including the local user with Admin rights...
How does one continue now... ? Is there a possibility to get back the user data (if not, not a big deal, since the system was merely setup anyway) ?
    Best regards,
    Salva

First.. there is no reason data stored on the server would be lost just because users accounts arent working.
Network logins are depdendent on Open Directory and OD is very dependent on both the client and the server's DNS resolution.
You can login locally in the server with the admin account, correct?
If so, open Terminal and paste this:
         dscl . -list /Users
If it responds with a list of users, then we know at least your open directory service is online.
You need to check your logs.
    use Console to review
    /var/log/system.log
    /var/log/opendirectory.log
    What is the result of:
    sudo changeip -checkhostname
Hope you don't mind if I ask.. but do you really need network homes?
Its adds much more overhead.  I see new administrators set it up because its 'in the manual', when they really don't need it.

  • Basically, I failed to login to an ftp server by typing the password wrong. Now I cannot connect to the website at all. What can I do to fix this?

Pretty much what the question says, I managed to type the password wrong when trying to connect to an ftp server and now I cannot connect to the whole website.

  • Unable to send file to FTP server

    Hi All,
I am using a File to File scenario. In that i am using FTP. The file is not reaching the target side. It is displaying the following error. I have checked the Target directory, it is  correct.I am able to send manually FTP File to the same target directory.
Delivery of the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server 'acmxrtdb:21'. The FTP server returned the following error message: 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 C:\BankFiles\FromSAP\Wells: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. '. For details, contact your FTP server vendor..
Please help me in solving this. It would be very helpful to me.
    Thanks & Regards,,
    Raju.D

    Hi,
the path specified is not correct.
The value "0 C:\BankFiles\FromSAP\Wells" is not valid if the protocol is FTP. This is the physical directory on the operating system.
If you're using an FTP server you need to know the path to the file on the FTP.
To do this I suggest to connect to the FTP using Internet Explorer and navigating the FTP folders until reaching the right one.
Then on the url bar you should got something like this: "ftp://server:21/path/to/file/". Use "/path/to/file" as value for the file adapter configuration.
    Hope this help

  • Some files never getting transferred to our FTP Server

We are moving configuration changes from one instance to another using 'Manage Implementation Projects' functionality. This PeopleTools functionality creates DM scripts to transfer functionality like Billing, Contracts, etc to another instance when you click 'Export'
It is supposed to send the scripts to 'FTP Server > psdata > PSFILEDIR' on a Windows system in Financials 9.1 using PT 8.53.04. We constantly get a 'Permission Denied' from this process when trying to do this.
This problem happens in all DEV instances, yet the process works fine  in the Prod instance. I have examined the permissions in the PSFILEDIR and compared them in DEV and PROD and find no differences

I guess you didn't like my last answer.  So I'll try again.  First off, forget FTP.  We don't even care about FTP and adding it to the Title of the question just confuses things and maybe gets you less responses.  In production, does this open a Dialog box/Save window when the  export finishes?
My assumption is that you have the variable PS_FILEDIR set to \\s-wpstbftp1\s$\psdata\PSFILEDIR for the app server.  Is that true?
You are failing on line 10 which is
    &PROJECT_FILE = GetFile(&FILENAME, "W", %FilePath_Relative);
The PSAPPSRV process is trying to open a file in write mode.  It's using Relative Path which appends &FILENAME to the path which is determined by either PS_FILEDIR or PS_SERVDIR.  This part of the code is not even the part where the file is supposed to be placed at a final destination.  This is very initial step in creating the file, nothing is being written yet.  The PSAPPSRV process at this point knows nothing about FTP or other network transfer protocols, it simply knows that it should use \\s-wpstbftp1\s$\psdata\PSFILEDIR as the path. To the PSAPPSRV process this is a path that is locally available on the server,wWhen the system call comes through to the OS to attempt to open this file, the operating system is what allows this to seamlessly connect to a network resource.
There are two potential points where for this and they both relate to the user running the PSAPPSRV process.
You are using the Admin share for the S: drive on s-wpstbftp1.  This means any connection to this PATH must be made as a user that is an Administrator on server s-wpstbftp1.
The PSAPPSRV processes must be running as a user that is an Administrator on the other server.  This requires configuring the Oracle ProcMGR Windows service to run as a user that has access to the resources in question.
So to fix this you need to look at the ProcMGR service and set it to run as an Administrator user from s-wpstbftp1.  This may require additional tasks such as setting up that user on the PeopleSoft server.  Use task manager to look at what user is running the PSAPPSRV processes and make sure it's the user you need it to be.
In my humble opinion though, this is bad configuration:
You shouldn't be using Admin shares
I don't like relying on remote server paths that aren't redundant storage devices (NAS or SAN).  What if this server is down and other processes need to use this path?
You appear to be expecting this file at a location where it is created for further processing by the code, not the final destination.  The file is intended to be downloaded by the user.  I don't know why the developer decided to leave the file on the file system, but they may decide to clean up after themselves or change how this works in the future.  The file is created, inserted into the database, then read from the database, sent to the user, and deleted from the database.  The code calls DetachAttachment which the PeopleCode Language Reference book says:
Use the DetachAttachment function to download a file from its source storage location and save it locally on the end-user machine. The file is sent to the browser with appropriate HTTP headers to cause the browser to display a save dialog box to the user.

  • Unable to login to console - "Incompatible Server"?

    Good afternoon everyone,
So I've installed SMC 4 on a V480 with Solaris 10 11/06, and I've installed some of the relevant add-ons. I did have to deviate from the default port during installation/setup, so I used the port shown in the documention (1161). I originally tried to open the console using "es-start -c", but I kept getting the registration question, and then it would stop execution of the script after I tried to answer the question; another thread here lead me to the "javaws" command to take me through the registration process successfully, and I was able to figure out that I needed to include the port in the command, "es-start -c -- -p 1161" to get the login prompt. However, when I put in my credentials, I get this error:
"Communication could not be established with the server. The server version may be incompatible."
Can anyone help me with this error? Thanks!

    same problem.
SunMC 4.0 was running fine, I added a handful of servers before.
But a few of the server icons where blue although I installed the agent Addon.

    ! root@sunmc:/tmp # es-inst

  • Unable to login to Sun ONE Server Console 5.2 on XP

I've installed 5.2 on my new Win XP Dell Inspiron 5150. Both the admin52-serv and slapd services are started and netstat shows the ports listening. When I attempt to login to the console I get an HTTP Response Timeout error, yet there's nothing logged to the error log.
I've verified that the firewall is disabled, I can ping the laptop from any other machine on the network.
    Anybody have any ideas?

  • I login in ftp server, but my session will be closed very soon, can i change the ftp session time in mozila?

I login in my ftp server by use of Mozila browser, but my session will be closed very soon, can i change the ftp session time in mozila?

Do you mean you browse the FTP server in a tab? That usually works for anonymous FTP downloading, but if your server requires a login, it might not work well because Firefox doesn't do anything special to keep the session alive.
Would you consider using an add-on such as FireFTP? It's a traditional FTP client that runs in a tab.

  • Can PI listen to message on FTP server?

    Dear experts,
We have an external system that places messages on our FTP server. Now those messages need to be processed within 5-10 seconds. Defining a job in R3 that does that will not work because the time interval of a few seconds is too difficult to handle for a job.
Now my question: Can I have PI 7.1 check for messages on that FTP server? And, yes I know I could do it with an FTP receiver communication channel and R3 would be the receiving system.
But is there another possibility besides an FTP receiver?
    Thank you for any ideas!
    Best regards,
    Peter

    Peter,
But is there another possibility besides an FTP receiver?
Shouldn't this be an FTP sender channel? Since you mentioned this twice in your post, I am thinking it's not a typo error. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You can follow the suggestion given by Shabz in the above post.

  • FTP server permissions "Read Only"

I manage my own website, and would like to use Finder as my FTP medium. I can log into it, and download from it, but I cannot write to it. I have web admin privileges, but I'm unable to UPload to my ftp server.
It runs on the basic port 21, and has run normally in the past, but this is the first time that I've tried to mount it as a volume on a mac.
This way would be so much easier to use than the FTP online protocol that I use.
    Thanks in advance,
    Superd@ve

Hi, yes,FTP is Read only in the finder in .4. at least.
You can use Terminal commands or a free FTP client such as Cyberduck to get both R&W rights..

When defining a software repository from CLI or GUI, I have not been able to define the custom port that our FTP server is listening on.  Does ACS support the use of custom ports for FTP?

    Hi Anthony,
I don't thing so it will support non-standard ports as the options are only Disk,FTP,SFTP,TFTP and NFS.

  • Unable to login to Mobile Console

    Hi,
Not sure why but we are unable to login to the Mobile Server console. I'm positive that I am entering the correct password. However, the message we receive
is Please verify your username, password, url and try again!
Not sure how to troubleshoot this. Anyone have ideas? This worked fine this morning.
    Thanks
    Bill

    a) stop the glassfish server from the Windows Services
    b) start glassfish server using
                   C:\app\DMS\Mobile\Server\bin\runmobileserver.bat

  • FTP server permissions

I am unable to upload to my FTP server logging in as any user. I am given the error: 550 Security server forbids that action on this file
I am getting this logged in as a regular user in their home directory or as my administrative user logged into their home directory.
I get this error with any action that would be considered writing, such as renaming. I also get this if I try to delete something.
The directories I am in I DO have write access. I do not get this error if I connect using localhost, but if I connect from outside I get this error.
If anyone could tell me why this is happening and how to fix it it would be much appreciated.

I am still unable to upload, does anyone have any suggestions?
