Unable to login to the Firefox Sync

Hello.
I had to restore my ubuntu and in the morning I typed few times wrong password - so I used option to recover my password, however I received message "Attempt limit exceeded.". Error message changed lately to unknown account.
What to do now? I still have firefox recovery key and I need all data from firefox sync.

I was using latest firefox version (30) before restore (recovery key was saved the first time I created sync, before 1-2 years)
I do have other accounts linked, it's under windows - at home (will check it out there).
When posting, I've installed some addon for troubleshooting and submitted with the post itself, however I don't know how/where is that now and if it's visible to you guys, so here is it, as requested:

Already 16h+ passed from my failed login attempts and I still can't login to sync (just to make sure, I've used mozbackup to save everything from home).

How many users are registered for using the firefox sync server?

I'm working on a german wikipedia article about "Firefox Sync" and I need more information about the current usage and the historical development of this feature - number of registered users for the Sync Server at Mozilla - would be nice to have numbers for 2011, 2012, and current usage.
If possible, it would be also useful to know how many german speaking users are using the sync service.
Where are your Sync Servers located (US, Europe, Asia)?
What kind of systems and platforms are supported?
Is there a current documentation about the importance of the Firefox Sync Service, that I may reference?

your URL to the page with the ideas of the new PiCL service shows in the remark about the usability of the "Firefox Sync" some hints about the usage of the current sync service "only 1% of our users have actually done so" - so I will use that as reference.
But it would be nicer to have some public message - for example: a mozilla blog entry - from the mozilla services group about the number of registered Sync Server User - and also about performance and reliabilty.
But if that is private information only, you can close this problem.

I have a Mac mini running the latest version of OS X and Server. Been running fine and flawlessly. However, I had a strange problem with the iCloud preferences panel crashing when I tried to access it, so I rebooted. Now I can not log into the system with any accounts. My master admin account (along with all the others) gives me the error:
You are unable to login to the user account "abcdefg" at this time. Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred."
I am able to see the server from other macs and I can log into it using the same account, but it only shows me a few of the shared folders I have access to but NOT to my main directories.
Rebooting into Command-R and doing a disk utility, I try and repair permission on that drive and get a bunch of errors like:

Repaired "Users/.localized"
ACL found but not expected on Users/Shared
Repaired "Users/shared"
ACL found but not expected on Users/Shared/.localized

But rebooting is no joy...same problem. Any idea what is going on or how to repair it? Should I do a time machine restore? Complete new OS X install? Any idea what is causing this or how to salvage it?

Got everything to re-install and it worked fine...for a few hours. Then I came in to find ALL of my network users deleted. Just GONE. Then found out the Open Directory was trashed and was unable to open, recover or restore from a backup. Looks like I may have a bad drive here.
I installed a new drive in the system, re-installed and so far (for a couple of hours anyway) the system seems to be working and stable.

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:

You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

Unfortunately the communication with iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) is only in one direction: data from your computers will go to your iPad but not the other way around.
That's a limitation of Firefox Home.

Sorry about that. The help pages have been updated for the new "Add a device" process in Firefox 4, but the add-on for Firefox 3.6 is still using an older, different process.
You can download the Firefox 4 release candidate here and use the new "easy setup" process described in the help pages: http://firefox.com/rc
Or if you prefer to stick with Firefox 3.6, then instead of clicking "Add a device" on your computer, press the "Connect" button on your phone or other device, then click on "I am not near my computer..." and enter your email address, password, and sync key. Where is the firefox sync app??? its not under options

I a trying to set up the firefox app on my iphone..and i have not been able to find the firefox sync app/ add on to set up the sync account from my desktop version..its not under the options tool bar, and i am running the latest version of firefox.

jjcdba user should be the member of "dba" group to enjoy the OS authentication otherwise you would need to use the sys password to login to the database. Please make sure that "dba" os group exists and make this user member of this group.

When setting up Firefox sync I just used the standard Firefox sync server, so I need that "standard" Firefox sync server address, so I could add my account name to it. Please help! I am assuming you want to do this: http://reminderfox.mozdev.org/faq.html#s6
You cannot use the Firefox Sync servers to do this. Sync works with a custom protocol (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Labs/Weave/Sync/1.0/API) and can't be used to store files such as ICS files from ReminderFox.
Instead, I'd do as that FAQ recommends and use a free iCal server, such as [http://icalx.com iCal Exchange]

How to migrate old Sync (Weave) account/login to the new Sync service?

I tried to enter the u/n + pwd that's always worked, but it says I must use an email address.
No idea what email address is associated with my account...
But when I was logged into the old sync site above, I noticed it said: "Welcome, email address (Sign out)".
So I tried that email address + my password on the new site, but still it didn't work.
Where to from here?
N.B. as far as I can tell Sync is still working fine within FF 30 itself (OS X).

yes, there's no migration path, the new account system also doesn't come with a local recovery key but only uses email & your chosen password to grant access - you could delete the old account and start with a new one.
since the purpose of sync already is merging all the changes from other devices into your local firefox profile it really won't make much difference if you obliterate the old account. all the important synced data is already stored locally in your profile and will be transferred to the new account this way...

Firefox is not offering the Sync add-on to Firefox 3.6 users any longer. If you update to a Firefox 4+ version, you'll be able to use Sync - it is built into the Firefox 4+ versions and doesn't need an add-on.
The Sync service has been expanded to include add-ons ''(in the Nightly 12.0 versions for now)'' within the last week or so, and I suspect Mozilla didn't want to update the Sync add-on for a version which won't be supported for much longer - 3.6 support is slated to end in April.

Need your help on below mention issue.
My client was using BPC MS 10.0 SP5 and I upgrade it to SP13, everything was installed correctly without any error. After installation I restore their production environment (which was built in SP5) into the upgraded server (Sp13). While testing it I figured that I am not able to login into the Admin Client though I can login into the Excel and run the reports without any issue.
The admin client is also updated with latest version. (10.0.13.0)
Any idea ?

Hi Charly,
try to login in the admin console with the user-psw of the sysadmin you used to install bpc it should be possible and after enter in security, modify one user and save it (just enter and save without changes).
Probably you have to enter in IE as another user (using the sysadmin).
