Unable to make or receive calls

I have had my phone for about 4 months and all of a sudden I am unable to make calls on my blackberry 3g 9300. I receive call failed error or no circuit/channel available. Also if you call into my phone it goes to voicemail. I am also not receiving all of my texts.
If I switch the phone to 2g I am them able to make receive calls but as soon as I go back to 3g I have the same issue. I am also not gaining access to the internet.
I have tried removing the battery and restarting but I am still having the same issue.
Anyone help please.

hi mate, have you checked that you don't have anything like a screen protector or case blocking the proximity sensor? also try performing a soft reset, and ensuring that you are up to date with the latest firmware for your device, and you are up to date with the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store.

  • Verizon iPhone unable to make or receive calls

Hello everyone, my Verizon iPhone is intermittently unable to make or receive calls (yes I do have reception). Has anyone experienced this before? I've called Verizon customer service and they were no help and suggested replacing the device at the apple store which I did. Verizon tech support ended up saying they would look into my issue with the network team, and contact me, which they never did. Apple sort of suggested it's a Verizon issue, and was not going to replace it for that reason, until I told them my battery was dieing quick too (luckily I had a screenshot of usage). So they're kinda blaming eachother- and I'm stuck in the middle with no support/help. I've tried ALL of the troubleshooting procedures. Do you think it's a Verizon or iPhone problem? What should I do?
One reason I think it's a Verizon issue is, I've had 2 iPhones that had the same problem- what are the chances of that? One reason I believe it's a Apple iPhone issue is because ALL of the Verizon phones in my household work perfectly all the time, except mine. Again it's intermittent, which is why I recorded videos.
Here is my brother's iPhone calling mine (both Verizon): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWvZN90_adk
    My iPhone calling brother's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZFS5iiNrus
My iPhone calling a friends phone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGcB6uH0Ax8
My friend calling my iPhone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCnJc4e_DAQ

I have tried all the troubleshooting methods on the iPhone before this one multiple times by myself and with verizon tech support. Anyways, I gave it a try on this iPhone except the restore, because I want the apple genius to be able to run a diagnostic on it. I did the restore on my prior iPhone and he said he couldn't run the diagnostic because I restored it.
My results from the troubleshooting link:
    1. Check Signal - I have 3/5 bars, still doesn't work
    2. Reset Network Settings - I did that, still doesn't work
    3. Verizon Update Preferred Roaming List - My iPhone gets "Call Failed" when dialing *228 (btw I already did this the day I got this iPhone).
    4. Check Carrier - 4 of the 5 Verizon phones in my house work perfectly, so I doubt it's a carrier issue at this point. But I will give Verizon another call tomorrow morning to make sure.

  • My iPhone 5s and husband 5s both are unable to make or receive calls just comes up fail

My iPhone 5s and husband 5s both are unable to make or receive calls just comes up fail, dosen't even ring,I rang EE and got no where
seems weird both 5s stopped working at same time

If your iPhone works elsewhere without problems, then it's probable that your carrier's signal just isn't strong enough in your home. This is not an uncommon situation, since many communities balk at allowing cell carriers to place their towers in residential areas. If you have good Internet service in your house, you might ask EE if they can provide a "microcell" which would connect to your Internet connection and provide a stronger cell signal.

  • Iphone 5 unable to make or receive calls.

My Iphone 5 is not allowing me to make or receive calls. When I am making calls it comes up saying "Called Failed". I have restarted the phone a number of times and it works for an hour or so and then back to the same. No solid resolution.
People are unable to call me and they get the message number is unavailable and I do not get any miss calls to know who has called.
I have updated to the new software and checked all my settings as per the guidance. I have also reset my network setting and have no carrier updates.
I have checked with my carrier and the network coverage is fine in the area.
Very frustrating as this has been going on for a few days now.
Apple, is anything being done to fix this problem?
    Is this a software issue?

These are user to user forums.  You are not addressing Apple by posting here.
You need to work with your wireless carrier, as inability to make / receive calls is their issue to support.

  • NO SIM error. unable to make or receive calls

I preorder a phone in june, and phone didn't work out of box. can not male call or reiceve calls!. When I got exchange after verizon store, I was able use it in certain areas but not all areas... I wasted week with the phone decided to return the phone after waiting for 4 days for service call tag to the engineer to find out what is the problem... I got message from tech saying "problem is solved, it was tower issue." I called back to order another phone, but they said I cannot get the same price as before, because they havent processed my return at the time... I waited over 2 weeks to order a new phone and when I finally got it... it had same problems...  I called them a 3 hours ago, cust rep said I can not return the phone, and had to ask for  the manager. Manager I spoke to was pertty nice, and it seem like he cared. He agreed to take the phone back if I can get it return within 2weeks from orginal date of purchased( Its been 1 week because rep made me wait for another service call tag for engineer. she said she will put it in as highest priority case and she will follow up with and let me know (I never heard from her since that day....what a service)) He also offer to give me 15 dollar for lost of service when I asked for it, but I found out now he did somethings  else to my account. He had changed my unlimited data and 700 shared minute to 2gb with 700 shared minutes.. is this legal?
ps. I'm not the only one with problem.

I feel you pain, I'm in the same boat, I'm on my second S3. the first one threw no sim errors but at least it could make calls. The second one I have also give's me no sim errors and I can't make or receive calls. I have a ticket open currently for this issue, but they do not seem to be doing anything with it. I'm still within the 48 hour window for resolution but I need to make a decision by tomorrow as my 14 days end then. This is the first time I ever had a problem with Verizon, it takes me back to when I had AT&T, at lease I knew I would have crappy service.

  • No service since recent update from EE, unable to make or receive calls

received message from EE - We have updated some of your settings. To make sure you can continue using your phone and services, please restart your phone now. since restarting my phone I have had no service and cannot make or receive calls

I have the same issue, visited one of the stores yesterday and got a replacement sim but that hasn't solved the problem. I also went abroad today and have no working sim to call them from. The only option would be to buy a local pay as you go and phone them up, but seeing that it is a international call to a mobile it would probably be very expensive.  Have you been able to find a solution yet?

  • My iphone 5 is showing the network and 3G logos but has no signal bars and I cannot make or receive calls or use the internet

    Hi,
I recently bought my iPhone5 second hand off a friend.  Having inserted my sim the O2 network logo and 3G symbols appear in the top left although there is no signal registered.  I am also unable to make or receive calls as well as use the mobile internet.
The phone is registered to O2 so there is no network clash

    Hello denman1991,
It sounds like your phone is not connecting to the cellular provider network, and you are also unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network. I would recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
iPhone: Troubleshooting issues making or receiving calls
    https://support.apple.com/kb/TS3406
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
    Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
    Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
    Restore the phone as new.
Also, for your Wi-Fi network issues, I would recommend this article named:

  • Can't make or receive calls or texts in extended network area.

I have been unable to make or receive calls in the extended network area since arriving here 3 weeks ago. Using a Droid Bionic. Spent an hour with tech support to no avail. purchased a warranted used phone and moved sim card to it. Still no luck. Drove a hundred miles to a verizon service area yesterday and the phone worked fine from there.
I live in zip code 79834 for 3 months every year and this is the first time I've experienced this problem. I use a Wilson booster in 79834 and get 4 bars. No booster needed for strong extended network signal in nearby 79852 but no luck there either.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Told me to try *228. I told him Verizon Tech support told me not to do that. I'm sooo confused. :-(
If you are using a Bionic or any other 4G phone, you do not dial *228 to update your Preferred Roaming List ... that is handled automatically by the phone's SIM card.  To force an update, you can turn off the phone, remove the SIM card, wait a few minutes, then replace the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and allow a few minutes for it to re-establish a connection.
However, as noted by the Verizon rep, if you check the Verizon coverage map, there isn't any coverage in area code 79834.  I've no explanation as to why your neighbor's phone works.

  • Can't make or receive calls on iphone 4

Unable to make or receive calls on my iPhone 4. I went through all the steps in support, restored my phone, updated software, etc. But no luck. When I place a call, the display shows that the call connects, but I hear nothing on the speaker, and the other end can't hear me either.
Sometimes, when I place the call, the speaker option selects itself.
    Any thoughts?

It sounds as if you have tried all of the user troubleshooting. You need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the closest Apple store and see if there is a hardware defect.

  • Suggestions Needed! iPhone suddenly can't make or receive calls!

My iPhone has been unable to make or receive calls for two days now. Been working flawless for a year, until now. All other functions (text, email, web) continue to work fine. I have a 2G iPhone running 2.2 and have made no "unauthorized" mods and have made no significant changes or additions in the past week that might have led to this interruption.
Called AT&T and began to work with a service rep but got no solution. I have reset many times and even restored to factory conditions, but no luck. I have full signal strength and it says AT&T as my carrier. Thought it might be a network issue but my co-worker, with the same iPhone model, has no issues. I'm told when people do call me all they get is a "busy signal". Weird.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm pretty tech savvy, especially with Apple products and this one has me scratching my head.
    Thanks in advance.

    SMacdown,
Have you already tried the suggestions in article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1650 ?
Prior to restoring your iPhone, I would try resetting network settings. To do so navigate to Settings > General > Reset.
When restoring your iPhone, it's typically recommended you set it up as a new phone. You should back up your data prior to this.
Other good troubleshooting steps are to remove the iPhone case for a period of time to test with out (if you use one), reseat the SIM card, or to test the SIM card in another AT&T phone to see if that has the same issue.
