Unable to make recovery disk on in pavellion g62016 .dat file is missing in recovery drive

unable to make recovery disk on in pavellion g62016 .dat file is missing in recovery drive
can i use the .dat file of another same notebook
what is significance of ,dat file

Hello shail11. I understand that you're having some problems creating a recovery disc. Is this correct?
You can not use another .dat file.  The recovery media is specific to a certain notebook, so using another computer's files will not work.   If you're running into issues making a recovery media you could attempt to perform the recovery from the BIOS. Here is a document which outlines the process.  ALL data not backed up before performing the recovery will be lost.
Let me know if this helps; have a great weekend!

Running Captivate 8 on a Macbook and I am unable to import Powerpoint 2011 (which is up to date) files or slides.  I get an error saying that either the file is damaged or I am using an older version of PP....which is not the case.  I tried creating a very simple PP file with just a few words on one slide...ran a compatibility check and all was good.  Still could not import that simple slide into Captivate.

OK...found out it did not like me saving as a *.pptx.  When I save it as a *.ppt file it imported in correctly.  Is this what I will need to do moving forward?  I am not sure if I am losing any functionality in the process...

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 Disk Usage report showing incorrect data file

When I go to ANY database (System, AdventureWorks*, user) in Managemant Studio, I right-click on the db, select Reports, select Standard Reports, and select Disk Usage.  The disk usage report shows the correct db on top, but always only shows AdventureWorks_Data.mdf
when I expand Disk Space Used by Data Files section.  This happens to any db I try.  When I look at Database Properties/Files for that database, the logical and physical file names are correct.
Since the correct files appear in Database Properties/Files, I'm hoping it's just a bug in the report.  Same thing happens if I run a Disk Usage by Table report for ANY database,  The tables for AdventureWorks always only appear,
    Thanks,  Mike

    Thanks Tibor!
I looked at the Properties for my login under Security/Logins and it shows my default db to be master.  Not sure if this is correct, but it sounds plausible.  I'll see if I can report the problem.
The only issue I can think of that was out of the ordinary for the install of 2008 R2 EE was this:
I originally installed 2005 DE, since it wouldn't expire.  After the install of 2005 DE, I decided to uninstall it and install 2008 R2 EE.  In between the installs of 2005 DE and 2008 R2 EE, I installed/uninstalled stupid stuff like 2008
Express, 2008 Express with Advanced Services (?), and 2008 EE.  After each uninstall I also did a system restore to be safe.
Now each time I open Management Studio, i get a pop-up stating that there are SQL Server 2005 registered servers on my sytem and asks me if I want to add them into Management Studio.  I always say no.
The AdventureWorks db is from 2005 and was installed automatically with 2005.  I installed the 2005, 2008, and 2008 R2 AdventureWorks databases to my R2 for class.  I'm not sure now if the Disk Usage report is showing me AdventureWorks_Data.mdf
because of my install into 2008 R2 EE or my previous install of 2005 DE.
Hope this kind of makes sense...

  • Unable to make recovery disk-Error code:020123

I just recently bought Satellite P755-S5265  and I am having trouble creating recovery discs.
When using the Recovery Media Creator program, I can create Discs 1 to 3, but am having trouble on disc 4.
About halfway during the downloading sequence this error pops up:
    Failure to open file
    D:\DATA.INI
    (Error Code:020123-F1-0000000)
I have gone through several DVD-R discs each having the same error.
I've also tried using the Hard Disk Recovery utility to restore the computer to manufactory settings, but the same error pops up again.
Could someone please help me out?
I appreciate an help I can get.
    Thank you in advance

If you're getting the error both when creating recovery media and when recovering the computer using the recovery partition, it sounds like there's a problem with the data on the recovery partition itself.
    I'd contact support at (800) 457-7777.

Hi ! Iuse memorex DVD-R. What I would do is buy a usb and create your recovery on it. That is if your machine will boot to a USB. I have a 16GB USB with my recovery on it. It would be a lot easier to use it than all those discs You can check boot sequence to see if your machine will boot from USB

  • Unable to make recovery disc

I am trying to create a recovery disc, but it says I don't have a drive capable of creating CDs or DVDs
    What can I do?
Using windows vista home basic on a compaq notebook PC presario c500

    Hi @
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario C500 CTO Notebook and needing to create recovery disks. Here is a document that shows you how to create a recovery disk for Windows Vista.
    Disc Type
    # of Required Blank Discs
    DVD-R DVD+R--1 - 2 Discs
    DVD+R Dual Layer 1 Disc
    CD-R-Up to 7 - 11 Discs
NOTE: Only one set of recovery discs can be created for a computer.
Click Start, click All Programs, select System Recovery, and click Create Recovery Discs.
The PC Recovery Disc Creator utility displays a message indicating the type and number of media discs required.
The set of recovery discs created can be used to recover the specific computer and cannot be used to recover another computer.
Can you play a CD on this notebook?
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Unable to make entries for objects with no master data in IP

    Hi All,
In BPS, when created a layout, which contains characteristics, in whose properties 'Master Data' is not checked, we could enter the new values for them directly in the layout.
In IP, we could not do the same with the 'New Lines" option set on Analysis Item in the WAD for the characteristics whose master data property is not checked.
We have a layout, where, some characteristics are having master data checked, and some other characteristics where master data is not checked.
With the 'New Lines' option set on Analysis Item in the WAD for the characteristics whose master data property is not checked, when data entered, the error message is appearing saying that the data is not valid.
This is so quite simple in BPS. I think, I might be missing something in IP on how to achieve this.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Best Regards,
    - Shashi

    Hi,
In IP it's integerated that if you will not maintain master data you may not be able to plan for new value of characteristic. It's the normal behavior of system.
    Cna check the link below:-

  • Dense Restructure 1070020 Out of disk space. Can't create new data file

During a Dense Restructure we receive: Error(1070020) Out of disk space. Cannot create a new [Data] file.
    Essbase 6.5.3 32-bit
    Windows 2003 32bit w/16GB RAM
Database is on E: drive with 660GB space total, database is ~220GB.
    All cubes are unlimited
Tried restoring from backup same problem.
Over years and years the database is never recalculated, never exported and imported, never verified. Only new data loaded and dense restructured.
Towards the end of a dense restructure (about 89 pan files through about 101 2GB pag files), getting an error: Error(1070020) Out of disk space. Cannot create a new [Data] file.
There are still several hundred GB of free space available, and we can write to this free space outside of the essbase application within windows.
The server's file system is consistent, defragmented, and can prove use of additional space. Hard drive controller and system does not report any "hardware issues".

  • Error message 0xc0000034 at startup / no recovery drive / yoga 13

    Hi,
I have an urgent problem: at startup, there is the following message on my screen:
    Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information.
    File: \BCD
    Error Code: 0xc0000034
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your instillation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer
Press ESC for UEFI Firmware Settings
When I press ESC (or alternativelzy F2 or F12 during startup) I get to the InsydeH20 Setup Utility.
I've searched online and did not find a solution. The main problem: I DON'T HAVE ANY INSTALLATION MEDIA! The notebook came with recovery partition on the harddrive. I applied the official Lenovo hotfix after receiving the notebook. The hotfix repartitioned the HD and also the recovery partition, I suppose. This was a long time ago and I never had any problems since. I also noticed that some time ago, Windows stopped downloading updates.
    Help is very much appreciated!!

MORE INFO: It does NOT seem to be an iCal problem; rather a system startup error-- or even when logging-out and logging-back-in I get this. It seems a -39 error is:
    -39
    eofErr
End of file; no additional data in the format
but I don't know what this means; nor why I'm getting this now, just today, at startup. Should I repair permissions or verify disk or???
    Any assistance really appreciated.

  • Will reinstalling from setup disk delete my data files?

I can't do a thing with my MacBook. The cursor drags phantom selections, the track pad won't work properly and it takes ages for typed words to display. I have lost my applications in Finder and the disk utility is telling me there is a bad file. I've deleted the cache and done the PRAM thing to no avail. It is fully charged. If I reinstall the original disk, will I lose my data files and pictures, etc.?
    Elaine

    Hi, Elaine.
Go to Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility) and check on the S.M.A.R.T. status of your hard disk. Also, while there, select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, ("Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it). What is the hard drive capacity? Please let us know how much space remains available on it. Repair permissions on it.
There is a way to reinstall without losing your files, but it may not help if your drive is failing, so we need to determine its condition before proceeding.

  • Unable to make Windows recovery disk - HP Envy 15 - Windows 8.1

While Windows is booting well, it seems I have to do a recovery.
On booting and pressing F11I get the message
Your PC needs to be repaired. A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
    Error code 0xc0000225
On the other side when I try in Windows "Create a recovery drive" I got a message on the second page telling me
"Some necessary files are missing ..." and that's it!
    How to proceed ???

You need to either ask a friend who has the very same Windows 8.1 version if you can make a usb Windows 8.1 recovery flash drive. You should be able to fix the error with it. You can purchase recovery media from HP.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk.  First when I power on my notebook it goes straight to the launch recovery or launch Windows normally screen.  When I choose start windows normally, it goes to the window screen and freeze.  When I try to launch the start-up with windows 7 start-up disk, the computer will not load the files.  When I tried to complete a hard drive test, it failed with a failure ID 9UXNXA-55E65V-XD003G-60XR03.
I'm looking for a solution, can someone help?

    Hi:
It sounds like you need to purchase a new hard drive for your notebook, and reinstall the operating system with your recovery disks.
When a HDD fails a diagnostic test, it normally means it is done for.

    Hi
As per the error it shows that the Recovery partition on the unit is corrupted. Please contact HP Technical support and order for the set off Recovery Disc.
