Unable to Modify A4 Report to print in A5 Format !

Dear Experts,
i have an RDF report which prints Pay Slip in A4 size,
now we have made it concise to print in a5 size ( half of A4)
but it still leaves other half (remaining half of first page) and prints record from second page and leaves other half
(remaining half of second page) and so on .
i have tried making the frame property page protect. it does not work either.
this report is in Ebiz suite, and is a " Text " Report in Style A4.
do i need to mandatorily change this to A5 size or just modification of RDF can give me desired results.
Eagerly waiting for solution.
thanks in anticipation.
Abdulrahman

Dear Pratul,
we have changed the style to custom style called "A5", now it is printing the same matter but in three pages, i m thinking of quitting this RDF and using ETEXT ouput of xml publisher.
i m bit horrible in Reports 6i. so planning for ETEXT output , Fixed width format. we are using Dot Matrix Printer for Pay Slip Printing.
please suggest if you have any other solution.
other standard way may also be to keep working on the RDF. please suggest.
warm regards
Abdulrahman

  • How can i modify my report to print in duplex mode ?

Hello, I have a report to print orders (i use vb6 and CR XI-R2 at runtime with CrystalActiveXReportViewer object) but now i must print the payment conditions on the back of each order. What is the way to modify my report to do that.

  • Crystal Report XI Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

    Hi,
I have designed report in Crystal XI using paper sieze Letter. Multipler sites are using this application. User in USA are using Letter size paper and User in Euorpe are using A4 size paper. All reports work fine for USA users.
When Eurpoe users print the report on A4 size paper which set in Letter size, the report is truncated from Header or footer. They are printing report from Application and application is set on Citix server.
If Anybody have any idea how to setup Crystal report so it can print on any paper size?
    Thanks
    Bhagvat

    Hi Don,
    Please find the below description.
Background: Crystal Report XI is utilized to develop and view reports with data source from Oracle based LIMS application (Vendor: LabWare). The reports are printed using network printer on US Letter paper for users located in North America and on A4 paper for users located in Europe. The report format is US Letter and designed to print on both paper formats i.e. Letter and A4.
Issue: When reports are printed by users in Europe using A4 format paper the printer defaults to US Letter paper (in printer preferences) resulting to data cut off from top and bottom on the printout.
    1)      When report layout is select to A4 during developing reports using CR, the printing preferences changes to A4 when printed and vice versa for Letter format. How can we avoid CR to enforce from changing printing preferences?
    2)     According to Citrix engineers in the company, the printer drivers installed on Citrix servers have nothing to do with printing preferences and CR defaults to paper size based on report design. What do we tell them about doing different to resolve this issue?
    3)    Even though a printer preference of default printer on local desktop is changed to A4, the report gets printed to Letter format result in data cutoff.  We have tried this option with several HP printers from few different company locations.
    Thanks

  • Unable to print the SQR report to printer

    Hi-
Trying to print the PAY003 SQR directly to the printer, SQR report runs sucessfully but not able to print to the server, Its working correctly in 9.0 Production instance with Windows 2003 32bit OS, but doesn't work with HR92 Applicaiton on Windows 2008 x64 bit servers.
Error Message : "The SQR report was generated, but the program was unable to route the report to the printer. Verify the validity of the printer path specified."
Installed the printer on the new 2008 Windows server with 64 bit drivers and still it doesn't work. Any help or suggestions what to check ?
    Regards,

If you are using the Verizon Web-mail client here on My Verizon, then you need to click the "Print" button while viewing a message.
Click here for an illustration showing the button you need to click. Look towards the top right of the image.
When you click that button, a new window will be displayed and the Print dialog will open. Simply hit the new Print button to print the full email.

  • Unable to schedule a report to email and print

I have been working on a task to both print and email a report to recipients whose email addresses are obtained at runtime.  So far I am able to email the report as a PDF attachment, however, I am not able to get the report to print.  I have three thoughts as to why the report is not printing.
    1. The printer is in a subdomain under the domain where InfoView and the Enterprise server reside.
    2. It is not possible to schedule a report for both an SMTP and print destination simultaneously.
    3. The format is causing an issue in printing - the SDK API states "Printer is a report format specific destination and can only be used when the report object is a Crystal Report."
I have looked at the scheduled report in InfoView and can see that the print settings I am passing are correctly set for the scheduled instance.  Does anyone know if there is a problem with trying to schedule printing and email at the same time, or if the report format must be .rpt?

    Hi Jason,
Based on your code, I could not tell if you were scheduling a Crystal Report or a WebI document.
Regardless, what I would suggest is you try scheduling the report/document on InfoView.
Once you schedule it on InfoView, you can retrieve the instance on Query Builder (or through code) and compare the properties that are being set through InfoView and the one you set through your code.
This should indicate if you are missing some properies or have set some properties incorrectly.
    Hope this helps.

  • Report not printing all the characters -main section width greater than 11"

    Hi,
I am trying to build/modify a Report (used in Oracle Apps) which will be printed on some perforated paper. The perforated paper is little bit wider (11.25 inches) than the regular A4 size paper.
The problem is when I print the report in Oracle Apps, the report isn’t printing all the characters at end of the page. I adjusted the page width to 11.25" in the main section's property palette, but the same thing is happening. Another point to mention is, I should use all of paper space.
I am not sure if it’s a report builder issue or oracle apps issue.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Srikanth

You must have larger margin. Try to make smaller header and/or footer.

  • Unable to refresh a report in P21 Activant

We recently upgraded our Activant P21 (Prophet 21) software which includes Crystal Reports.  Standard P21 canned reports in their software can be viewed, exported and printed.  The P21 software includes a feature to create and link custom reports.  We create the custom reports with Crystal Reports 2008 and set up the external report links.  We can open, view, print and export the custom reports but when we refresh the report with or without an input parameters, we are prompted for a "Database Login" password.  When we enter our password, an error message titled "Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer"  states "Logon Failed. Please try again".  We have contacted Activant about this issue and they do not find any errors in the set up.  They have told us there is probably an issue with Crystal Reports and asked us to contact your company.  We have also contacted a friendly competitor who uses the same Activant P21 software and create custom reports with Crystal Reports 2008 which include user input parameters.  Their custom reports work without a glitch.  What would prevent us from refreshing a custom Crystal report?

    Hi Don,
Activant P21 is insisting our issue is a Crystal problem.  We are unable to refresh the reports inside their software.  We have tried every user id and password we know and it still will not refresh our CR report.
When we use CR2008 to refresh a report, a window opens titled "OLE DB (ADO)" and asks to choose a data source "ODBC Data Source....Choose a data source from the list"  We select our ODBC DSN: P21 Live and click next.  Another window opens titled "OLD DB (ADO) asking for a password "Connection Information...Provide necessary information to log on to the chosen data source." At this point it does not matter what "User ID" or "Password" we use, the report will refresh.  We have used the Adminstrator with a password, we used my user name and password and we used the administrator without a password and in all three instances, the report refreshed with the correct data.
I don't see how this is a Crystal problem unless there is something I am missing.  Any help you can provide will be deeply appreciated.

    Hi Fris,
You can do this using a process chain and ABAP program.
    1. Create one process chain and create abap program, include in it. Scedule this chain every day.
Write a code in this ABAP program to check last day of fiscal period and to raise an event to execute 2 process chain or infopackge.
From system date find currect period
    (Use FM : DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT).
Find last day of period(Use FM : LAST_DAY_IN_PERIOD_GET)
Check system date(sy-datum) is equal to last day of period then you can raise an event(Use FM : BP_RAISE_EVENT).
Use this event to schedule 2nd chains(contains infopackage) or direct scheduling of infopackage.
You can create event at : SM62.
    Hope it Helps

              Please provide me the solution.

    For First program :
Use table LIKP (SD Document: Delivery Header Data) & LIPS(item Data) for fetch inf all the data for selected date use field ERZET(Entry time) & ERDAT(Date creation of record) for created deliveries & refer TABLES - CDPOS and CDHDR for modified deliveries
    For Second object:
Call multiple programs by using SUBMIT <program> with selection screen params.
Print as per requirement by passing print parameters to Structure PRI_PARAMS &
       call function 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS'
       exporting destination = liprintr
                 mode        = 'CURRENT'
                 no_dialog   = 'X'
       importing out_parameters = pri_params.
*To Convert ABAP List and SAP Script to PDF files use program - "RSTXPDFT4"

  • Process/stpes to modify the report painter reports...

    Hi,
I want to modify the report painter report. Could anybody tell me how can we do this. Where can we do this and it would be helpful if any body advise with the steps.
The requirement is to add one line in the current report painter report and remove one line from it.
    Regards....

    Hi,
Modifying a report painter report is very similar to creating the report itself. Below mentioned are the steps in general, please use them as per your requirement.
From the relevant application, choose Tools->Report Painter->Report->Create.
The Report Painter: Create Report screen appears.
You can also create Report Painter reports from any Report Writer screen. To do so, choose Report Writer->Report Painter-> Create report.
Enter the name of the library the report is to use, and a name and description for the report. The report name can be a maximum of eight characters long. If you want to create your report using an existing Report Painter report as a basis, enter the name of the report that you want to copy under Copy from. Both reports must use the same library.
Choose Create. The next screen displays an empty report containing four rows and four columns (this is the basic structure for a report). You define your report on this screen.
Enter or change the description for the report by double-clicking the report description field.
A dialog box appears in which you can enter a short, medium, and long text for the report description.
Define the rows of your report.Rows contain a combination of characteristic values or formulas. Note the lead column at the first position of the rows. The Report Painter uses the lead column to access the rows. You can replace the description Lead column with a different term.
Define the columns of your report. Columns contain a combination of a basic key figure and optional restricting characteristic values. You can also use predefined key figures to present key figures and characteristics that make business sense. For example, a number of predefined key figures are delivered for the libraries in Overhead Cost Controlling that can be copied directly into the reports, where they can be modified as required.
Define general data selection criteria. The general data selection criteria restrict data selection for the report.
Choose Save and then Execute to create the report. Assign the report to a report group.
You have to display the report before you execute it, so that you can later change the report layout directly from the report list. Once you have defined a report, you can display and print out a table of contents with Extras->Overview.
The overview contains the characteristics and characteristic values used in the individual sections, column blocks, and general data selection criteria. It also provides general information such as the user who last changed the report, the report name, and the standard layout assigned to the report, as well as details on the report formats.
If you double-click an individual characteristic, you can see where this characteristic is used in the report definition.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you need an specific information.

  • Crystal Report Passbook Printing

    Hi,
Iam using the Crystal Reports Release XI. Iam having a one report for printing the passbook from java.
Iam unable to give more printing options to the report. Already iam using this below API  com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.document.PrintReportOptions.
    For example:
Number of pages in the pasbook = 10.
Number of records per page in the passbook = 10. So we can printing 100 records in this passbook. Problem is I need to print from 16th line to 28th line for customer transactions. How can I solve this one....? Could I use the PageRange API in the PrintReportOptions class....?
    (Iam having more printing options like passbook_layout, line_space, print_record_in_Grid, length_value and breath_value).
    Thanks,
    anandhsv.

  • How to print report from print server ?

    Hi all,
    I need to print the report where the printer are shared by group of people which is located at server. I have put in the path in DESNAME = \\192.168.1.239\plc6 where \\{my printer ip address}\{printer name}
however, when I run the report, in the report viewer the printer name is still defaulted as what I have defaulted printer in my printer setup whereas the printer that I specific in the report which is located at server was not selected and again the report was printed out based on what my PC has been defaulted. My question it's anything wrong with my path ? why the report was not printed out based on the printer on the desname ?
    Please advise. Thanks.

You can use FOP, but the formatting of the xsl (Xml Style Sheets) takes a little work. If you have the Oracle Reports server up and access to the development product, why not go that route?
You want the filtering and sorting and searching, yes, but then you also want to print them out.. Then you would probably be best looking at replacing the Oracle Reports setup with BI Publisher. You can convert Most your reports over to bi publisher layouts easily.. (I have heard of some reports that do require recreating in Bi Publisher from Oracle Reports..)
Then you can have your Apex Reports and call Bi Publisher from APEX and everyone wins..
Is your Oracle Reports stuff used by non-APEX applications, that could be modified to use Bi Publisher?

  • Database report header prints info not in filtered info ??

I have a database where I sort on a division ID #, a location and salary. I then find records of a particular division # for a report. In the report I use a layout that has a report header with the NAME of the division, not the ID #, along with the location, page number and date. When I pick the report from the report choices the header contains the correct name of the division but when I go to print (either a file - print preview or file and just print to paper) the NAME of the division defaults to the NAME of the division in the LAST record in the entire sorted database. Page 2 and any remaining pages of the report contain the correct division name, it is only the first page that has the error. The only report that prints correctly is the one that reports on the last division. What am I doing wrong?
    Frustrated ...... Richard

    Hi Harshith,
I have already tried for custom button and code to download into excel and it works fine for normal case.
But when the user will sort on any filed then the report gets modified (gets grouped etc). In that case my code gets failed as i am getting the report data from the context node which in this case will be simple but diiferent as what user is seeing on the screen.
so is it possible to get the report data (currently visible in the screen).
    Thanks in advance
    Gopal
